  • This paper presents a miniaturization design technique of radio frequency identification (RFID) tag antenna operated in 910 MHz band. Miniaturization structure design for a tag antenna is performed by structure application of the folded dipole and meander line. In order to realize the maximum power transmission, imaginary part of a chip impedance and a tag antenna impedance is matched by complex conjugate number. The optimized tag antenna size is $50\;nm\;{\times}\;40\;nm\;{\times}\;1.6\;nm$ and its size is reduced about 62 % comparison with antenna size of reference [4]. The measured results of fabricated tag antenna are confirmed the reasonable agreement with prediction. The read range of the tag antenna with chip observed about 5 m.

  • This paper proposes new miniaturization method of parallel coupled line filter by using capacitors and grounding. Proposed method can reduce resonator size by using only a small number of capacitor and grounding of parallel coupled line filter which is conventional in field of RF filters because of its design and fabrication simplicity. This paper applies the miniaturization method of transmission line and parallel coupled line to parallel coupled line filter, and presents that grounding can reduce the number of shut capacitors. Presented miniaturized method has merits of miniaturization of parallel coupled line, harmonic suppression, and improvement of high frequency skirt with harmonic suppression. For verification of proposed method, this paper presents a hairpin filter, which has 900 MHz center frequency and 10 % FBW, miniaturized to λ/4 by proposed method.

  • The Servo motor is consistent with the magnet rotor, winding, magnetic back iron and the sensor. Especially the soft magnetic back iron in the servo motor, which consists of the magnet rotor and winding, and between these two components lies the magnetic circle. Its important to monitor the output power of to make conclusive decision for designs. In these days main household electrical appliances, business machinery and tools are made by process of miniaturization. Because of this miniaturization in hardware, miniaturization of the servo motor is essential But the decrease inside affects the power output. For improve of these has been several attempt at improving the power output of these smaller servo motors. There has been experiment in the servo motor composition, composing of the improvement of the soft magnetic back iron through comparison of the out put power plans are being made.

  • This paper presents a miniaturized epsilon negative (ENG) zeroth-order resonance (ZOR) patch antenna with an improved bandwidth. The miniaturization and the broad bandwidth of the ENG ZOR patch antenna are achieved by using a meandered via and a high permeability substrate instead of a straight via and a dielectric substrate. The use of a meandered via allows miniaturization of the ENG ZOR patch antenna without narrowing the bandwidth. The use of a high permeability substrate allows further miniaturization of the ENG ZOR patch antenna and improvement of the bandwidth. A high permeability substrate consisting of a multi-layered substrate is designed to have a small material loss. The antenna (kr=0.32) has a 10 dB fractional bandwidth of ~1 %, which is 1.74 times as broad as that of an antenna with a dielectric substrate.

  • This paper presents research on predicting the possible intercept time for a Nodong missile based on its flight trajectory. North Korea possesses ballistic missiles of various ranges, and nuclear warhead miniaturization tests and ballistic missile launch tests conducted last year and in previous years have made these missiles into a serious security threat for the international community. With North Korea's current miniaturization skills, the range of the nuclear capable Nodong missiles can be adjusted according to their use goals and operating environment by using a variety of adjustment methods such as payload, fuel mass, Isp, loft angle, cut-off, etc., and therefore precise flight trajectory prediction is difficult. In this regards, this research performs model simulations of the flight trajectory of North Korea's domestically developed Nodong missiles and uses these as a basis for predicting the possible intercept times for major ballistic missile defense systems such as PAC-3, THAAD, and SM-3.

  • Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is one of the most widely used analytical tool and is an important module that would benefit from being miniaturized and integrated onto diagnostic or analytical chips. There are potentially two different approaches for the miniaturization of the PCR module: chamber-type and flow-type micro-PCR. These miniaturized PCRs have distinct characteristics and advantages. In this article, we review the necessity of micro-PCR, the materials for the chip fabrication, the surface modification, and characteristics of the two types of micro-PCR. The motivation underlying the development of micro-PCR, the advantages and disadvantages of the various materials used in fabrication and the surface modification methods will be discussed. And finally, the precise features of the two different types of micro-PCR will be compared.

  • Modern business trends call for miniaturization of electronic systems. One of the major impedances in this miniaturization is the conductive and inductive components in chips and circuit boards. Direct Write Technology can write these soft magnetic materials, thus allowing for further miniaturization of inductor devices. Another obstacle in electronics fabrication is the size limitations of thick screen-printing and the material limitations in ink jet printing. Direct Write Technologies address both of these limitations by providing feature sizes less than 20 microns with a wide range of materials possibilities. A discussion of the application of these nano-particulate materials by Direct Write Technologies will be presented.

  • In this paper, a study was conducted on the miniaturization of an e-Mobility battery charger module using GaN-FET. GaN-FET is one of the types of WBG devices, and it is a device that exceeds the performance of existing Si power semiconductors. In particular, GaN-FET has the advantage of small packaging size and high switching frequency operation, which is advantageous for miniaturization of power converters. Therefore, a bidirectional DC/DC converter module for e-mobility charging using GaN-FET was developed. To apply to the converter to be developed, analysis is performed on the characteristics of GaN-FET, and after manufacturing a prototype of a bidirectional DC/DC converter module, the efficiency and temperature data of the power converter are analyzed to verify its feasibility.

  • In this paper, we studied miniaturization of LPDA(Log-Periodic Dipole Array) antenna used for VHF and UHF bands. To miniaturize the LPDA antenna, in this study, the radiation elements in a low frequency were changed into a triangular meander structure which has small current cancelation effect at feed part. For the triangular meander structure, an isosceles triangular and right triangular meander structures were proposed and the LPDA antennas were miniaturized by using the two meander structures. Also, the simulated and measured results were compared for the two miniaturized LPDA antennas. As a result, the isosceles triangular meander and right angle triangular meander structure applied LPDA antennas were reduced up to 60.5 % and 72.4 % compared a basic LPDA antenna, respectively. Consequently, we confirmed that the triangular meander structure is suitable for miniaturization of a LPDA antenna.

  • This paper presents the miniaturization of circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna for UHF-band RFID portable reader. The proposed antenna has a group of four I-slots on a conventional corner-truncated square microstrip patch and it is shown that the antenna size is reduced compared to the antenna without I-slots. A 76 mm by 76 mm small antenna with four I-slots is fabricated with 6.4 mm thick FR4 substrate and its 10 dB return loss bandwidth, the gain and the axial ratio are measured to be $938{\sim}975\;MHz$, $-0.88{\sim}-2\;dBi$, and $3.27{\sim}13.21\;dB$ within the 10 dB return loss bandwidth, respectively.
