Charcot spinal arthropathy is a rare, progressive type of vertebral joint degeneration that occurs in the setting of any preexisting condition characterized by decreased afferent innervation to the extent that normal protective joint sensation in the vertebral column is impaired. The authors report on a case of Charcot arthropathy of the lower lumbar spine mimicking a spinal tumor following cervical cord injury.

Synchronous primary cancers in the liver and gallbladder have been rarely reported. We report a case of synchronous cancers of hepatic angiosarcoma and gallbladder adenocarcinoma, mimicking gallbladder cancer with hepatic invasion. Additionally, the clinical implications, the radiologic features, and the diagnostic difficulties are further discussed.

Actinomycosis is an unusual granulomatous infection caused by gram-positive anaerobic bacteria called Actinomyces species(predominantly Actinomyces israelii), which is a common and normally nonpathogenic organism found in the nose and throat. The three major clinical presentations of actinomycosis include the cervico-facial(the most common, 55%), thoracic, and abdominopelvic region. Actinomycosis typically has a chronic, indolent course characterized by swelling and induration of the soft tissues and eventual spontaneous drainage through multiple sinus tracts. Actinomycosis is difficult to diagnose because of variable presentation mimicking neoplasm and fastidious nature of the organism in culture. We present a case of actinomycosis in the parotid tip area which was mistaken for a salivary tumor.

Purpose： To determine the relationship between anatomical variation at A-com. artery area an hemodynamically induced aneurysm-mimicking findings on 3D-TOF MRA clinically a experimentally. Method： Sixty-two patients who had no aneurysm at A-com artery on DSA were evalua with MRA. MRA was performed with 1.5T MR machine(Vision, Siemens). Scan parameters o MRA included TR/TE/FA=30/6.4/25$\psi$$\circledR$˙¡, 512＊192 of matrix with MIP technique. The occurrence of signal defect at shoulder area of bifurcated A-com artery on MRA was evalua for the relationship between the symmetricity of bilateral ACA and the patency of A-c artery. DSA images were acquired at both ICA and VA. To analyze hemodynamical facto of signal defect, experimental studies of MRA and DSA were peformed with elastic silic phantom using conducting pulsatile pump. We also compared the results with those o computational fluid dynamics(CFD).

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a life-threatening infection caused by Leishmania species. In addition to typical clinical findings as fever, hepatosplenomegaly, and cachexia, VL is associated with autoimmune phenomena. To date, VL mimicking or exacerbating various autoimmune diseases have been described, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis, and autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). Herein, we presented a patient with VL who had overlapping clinical features with SLE, AIH, as well as antimitochondrial antibody (AMA-M2) positive primary biliary cirrhosis.

A four-month-old intact femlae Abyssinian cat was present for routine health evaluation, because her littermate was recently died of ventricular septal defect. Diagnostic imaging studies showed a large caudal paracardiac mass in thoracic radiography and homogenous mass adjacent to heart in the echocardiography. Further echographic study revealed that the mass was liver and the diaphragmatic line was intact. The positive contrast celiogram revealed that no extravasation of the contrast media across the diaphragm and the prolapse of diaphragm into the pleural cavity. Based on our diagnostic imaging studies, the case was diagnosed as diaphragmatic deformity in a cat mimicking a cardiac mass.

The dynamicresponse of biomimetic composites mimicking nacre under low velocity impact is investigated. The composites have hierarchical structures with a staggered pattern consisting of a protein and a mineral. To analyze the impact response of the composites, the finite element method is used. The effects of the hierarchical structures of the compositeson the dynamic response are examined. It is shown that the maximum stress, displacement and contact force in the composite subjected to low velocity impact decrease as the level of structural hierarchy increases.

20 radicular cysts of primary teeth mimicking dentigerous cyst were reviewed. The following results were obtained. 1. The patients' age ranged from 7 to 14 years. Males(60%) were more involved than females(40%). 2. The mandible(85%) was affected more frequently than the maxilla(15%) The mandibular deciduous molar area(80%) was the most frequently involved. 3. The diameter of the cyst varied from 10 to 30㎜. 55% of permanent successors showed underdeveloped roots less than one-third. 4. The etiologic factors were pulp-treated teeth(65%), severe caries (20%), trauma(10%), deep amalgam filling(5%).

We present a case of a 37-year-old woman who had Kimura's disease involving the lower extremity mimicking malignant soft tissue mass. The diagnosis of Kimura's disease would be considered if there is a subcutaneous solid mass showing the preservation of the nodal architecture with perinodal infiltrations and the laboratory examinations for peripheral eosinophilia and serum IgE level should be recommended although it occurs at the lower extremity.

Recent advances in radiological and serological techniques have enabled easier preoperative diagnosis of sparganosis. However, due to scarcity of cases, sparganosis has been often regarded as a disease of other etiologic origin unless the parasite is confirmed in the lesion. We experienced a case of sparganosis mimicking a varicose vein in terms of clinical manifestations and radiological findings. Sparganosis should be included among the list of differential diagnosis with the varicose vein.
