This paper is analysis on usefulness of Microstrip patch antenna design using Taguchi's Orthogonal array. For comparison, the shape of U-slot and Feed line elements are decided as a parameter in Microstrip patch antenna. And all the possible result of 19,683 times simulation using parameter sweep and the result of Taguchi's orthogonal arrays are compared. The simulation of Parameter sweep and Orthogonal arrays has 3.7% error on 10dB Bandwidth. Finally, It is identified that 19,683 times parameter sweep simulation can be reduced to 27 times with Taguchi's orthogonal arrays but still it represents antenna parameter characters well.

In this paper, we have designed and favricated the high gain and wideband microstrip patch antenna including IEEE 802.11a. To widen the bandwidth of microstrip antenna, firstly we have used the microstrip line-coaxial probe feeding method and inserted a U-slot in the rectangular patch. Secondly, to improve the antenna gain, we have used a $2{\times}2$ array structure. From the measured results, wideband characteristics of 1 GHz bandwidth($5.110{\sim}6.142$ GHz) for VSWR<2 was obtained. The measured eain was 13 dBi in both the E-plane and H-plane at the frequency of 5.15 GHz, 5.35 GHz, 5.50 GHz, and 5.85 GHz.

In this paper, TX/RX dual operation microstrip single antenna for satellite communication is designed, analyzed, fabricated and measured. TX/RX frequency ranges are 14.0∼l4.5 GHz, 11.7∼12.75 GHz in respectively and vertical and horizontal polarizations are used for TX and RX. This antenna uses microstrip direct feeding for RX and aperture coupled strip-line feeding for TX and accommodates stacked elements for a high directivity and wide impedance bandwidth. In an analysis of single element, FDTD and MOM was compared and FDTD analysis was more accurate because of the consideration of finite structure and imperfect two ground planes. The proposed structure facilitates generally to an extension of two dimensional array and lower an unwanted radiation by strip-line feed in TX. TX/RX 8${\times}$4 array has a return loss below -10 dB, -14 dB in TX, RX respectively and a gain ranging from 19.1∼20.7 dB in TX, 21.2∼21.8 dB in RX which has a radiation efficiency of 43∼5l %, 52∼57 %.

Antennas of the near field detection radar require little distortion in time domain caused by multi reflections between feed and open ends of the antenna, so that help to discriminate the target signal from the clutters. The resistive loading techniques have been used to reduce the late time distortions in order to prevent masking of target. In this paper, we design a microstrip antenna with two arms having sloted lines, which have inductance loading effect. Implemented antenna shows better performance on reducing late-time ringing, and the peak value of the received signal becomes 45% greater than the one by the antenna with two non-sloted lines.

A novel design of a simple circular ring with open-ended monopole antenna for wireless local area network (WLAN) applications is proposed in this article. The proposed antenna consists of an open-ended circular ring and $50-{\Omega}$ microstrip feed-line. The proposed antenna is capable of generating two separate resonant modes with good impedance-matching conditions. A prototype of the proposed antenna is designed, fabricated, and measured. Acceptable agreement between the measurement and simulation results is achieved. Experimental results show that the proposed antenna has operating bandwidths of 1.99-3.04 GHz and 5.08-6.1 GHz with a return loss of less than -10 dB, covering the required bandwidths of the 2.4/5.2/5.8-GHz WLAN standards. This is a microstrip antenna for IEEE 802.11a/b wireless local area networks applications. Meanwhile, the two-dimensional (2D) radiation patterns and three-dimensional (3D) gain performance of the antenna are also observed and discussed.

The major drawback of the classical microstrip patch antennas Is their narrow band characteristic from 1% to 5%. In this paper, to improve this drawback, we designed the antenna with stacked structure having one drive patch connected with feed line and four identical radiation patches. Resonance is achieved by adjust ing coupling area between one drive patch and four identical radiation patches and changing the size of drive patch or radial ion patches. Used substrate is FR4(${\epsilon}_r$=4.6 and t=1.6mm) and designed center frequency is 2.45GHz. The designed antenna has a wide bandwidth of 380Mhz form 2.333GHz to 2.713GHz(about 15.5%) including ISM band from 2.4GHz to 2.4835GHz.

The current on the thin planar structure as an element of the transversely fed electromagnetically coupled(EMC) microstrip dipole array antenna is obtained by using the integral forms of the finite difference time domain(FDTD) method. This method was applied to calculating the optimum current distribution (Doplh-Tchebyscheff distribution) of each dipole element on the feed line as a function of their offset positions for the narrow main beam width and the side beam level below -20 dB. The current on each dipole substitutes for the electric and magnetic current densities on the virtual surface of the FDTD calculation to express the far field intensity, the calculation time and the computer memeory can be reduced to about 80% and 1.3 Mbyte, respectively. The calculated radiation patterns are compared to the measured values and these are in good agreement.

In this paper, a microstrip $18\times2$ dual beam array antenna is designed at 10 GHz. The radiating element is an aperture-coupled patch, and it is analyzed by the transmission line model. The feed is a tapered parallel-series type to reduce the side lobe level. To obtain dual beam at $\pm45^{\circ}$, The difference in phase excitation between the elements is $180^{\circ}$. In conclusion, the side lobe level is 25 dB, and the beam width $8^{\circ}$with two main lobes at $\pm44.5^{\circ}$.
A multiband meandered monopole antenna is proposed for digital video broadcasting handheld (DVB-H), global positioning system, personal communications service, wireless broadband (Wibro), and wireless local area network (WLAN) applications. The proposed antenna consists of a meandered line, a shorted length strip line, and a conductor strip between a meandered line and a microstrip feed line. By tuning a short strip and a conductor, a multiband impedance matching is achieved. The proposed antenna has an omnidirectional radiation and yields an antenna gain of greater than -3 dBi in the DVB-H band and 4.5 dBi in the Wibro and WLAN bands. Details of the proposed antenna design and experimental results are presented.

In this paper, a novel microstrip patch antenna with switchable polarization is proposed. The proposed antenna has a simple structure, consisting of a square radiating patch, a pair of L-type spur-lines, and a microstrip line feed. It can produce either linear polarization or circular polarization by setting the diode on or off From the measured results, low cross polarization levels when operated in the linear polarization, and good axial ratios in the circular state have been observed.
