전해 연속 드레싱을 이용한 마이크로 공구 제작 기술 (A Study on the Micro Tool Fabrication Technology employing ELID(Electrolytic In-process Dressing) Technique)

  • With increasing the needs for micro and precision parts, micro machining technology using micro tools has been studied to fabricate a small part with high density such as electronics, optics, communications, and medicine industry more than before. Though these micro tools have developed rapidly, it is difficult to apply them to micro fabrication technologies, because of the inherent manufacturing. In this study, micro tools(wc) to produce micro structures and parts were manufactured by cylindrical grinding machine employing ELID(Electrolytic In-process Dressing) technique and good dimensional accuracy was achieved. Furthermore we researched the characteristics of machining on the micro drilling using micro drills and manufactured micro tools. Finally it is confirmed that manufactured micro tools can be used for micro machining.

$Si_3N_4$-BN계 가공성 세라믹스의 마이크로 홀 가공특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Micro Hole Drilling Characteristics of $Si_3N_4$-BN Based Machinable Ceramics)

  • Ceramics are very difficult-to-cut materials because of its high strength and hardness. Their machining mechanism is characterized by cracking and brittle fracture. In this paper, to give good machinability to the ceramics, h-BN powders are added to $Si_3N_4$, by volume of 20, 25 and 30%. And the machinability of the produced ceramics is tested using micro drilling system. Through required experimental works, it is shown that the micro drilling machinability is varied along with the volumetric percentage of h-BN powders. Also, it is verified that the obtained results can be used to develop new machinable ceramics of good material properties and machinability.

  • An MCP (Microchannel Plate) is a secondary electron multiplier to detect and amplify electrons. An MCP has many rnicrochannels whose diameters range from 10 to 100pm and whose lengths range from 40 to 100times of the diameter. Each microchannel of the MCP amplifies electrons over IOOOtimes by the secondary electron emission. Even though MCPs have high performance for electron amplification, the application of MCPs is limited to high performance electronic equipments because of their high fabricating cost and the limit of increasing their size due to the conventional fabrication process. Therefore, in this work, microchannels of the MCP are manufactured by micro-drilling to reduce the cost of the MCP and to increase their size. Alumina green body with epoxy binder was machined for fabricating microchannels using a high speed air turbine spindle and micro-drills with diamond grinding abrasives. Then alumina MCP was fabricated through the sintering of the machined alumina green body.

초경합금 소재 마이크로드릴의 가공특성 평가 (Analysis of Characteristic Evaluation of Microdrilling for the Cemented Carbides Materials)

  • Resently, reduction of industrial products in size and weight has increased by the application of micro-drill for gadgets of high precision and gave rise to a great interest in a micro-drilling. Due to the lack of tool stiffness and the chip packing, micro-drilling requires not only the robust tool structure which has not affected by the vibration, but also the effective drilling methods designed to prevent tool fracture from cutting troubles. Firstly, this paper presents a optimum characteristic evaluation method of 0.15mm microdrill in consideration of new manufacturing processes for improving the product rate and extend the tool life, and secondly suggest between microdrilling characteristic properties of tool md evaluation of workpiece quality through experiment.

  • $Ti_2AlN$ composites are a laminated compounds that posses unique combination of typical ceramic properties and typical metallic(Ti alloy) properties. In this paper, the powder synthesis, SPS sintering, composite characteristics and machinability evaluation were systematically conducted. The random orientation characteristics and good crystallization of the $Ti_2AlN$ phase are observed. The electrical and thermal conductivity of $Ti_2AlN$ is higher than that of Ti6242 alloy. A machining test was carried out to compare the effect of material properties on micro electrical discharge drilling for $Ti_2AlN$ composite and Ti6242 alloy. Also, mixture table as a kind of tables of orthogonal arrays was used to know how parameter is main effective at experimental design. Consequently, hybrid $Ti_2AlN$ ceramic composites showed good machining time and electrode wear shape under micro ED-drilling process. This conclusion proves the feasibility in the industrial applications.

고정원을 위한 micro-implant 매식시 drilling 유무에 따른 안정성에 관한 연구 (Effects of drilling process in stability of micro-implants used for the orthodontic anchorage)

  • 본 연구는 교정적 고정원을 얻기 위하여 micro-implant(Osas$^{(R)}$, Epoch medical)를 drill method와 drill-free method로 매식시, 조기 교정력에 대한 각각의 경우 micro-implant의 역학적 안정성 및 조직학적 생체 적합도의 차이를 알아보고자 시행하였다. 두 마리의 실험견(beagle dog)을 대상으로 상, 하악 협측과 구개부위에 좌우측을 구분하여 drill method 군과drill-free method 군으로 나누어 매식하였다. 매식 한 재료는 직경 1.6 mm의 micro-implant를 사용하였으며, drill method 군 16개, drill-free method 군 16개, 총32개의 micro-implant를 식립하였다. 교정력은 매식 후 1주 뒤에 Ni-Ti coil spring(Ni-Ti springs-extension$^{(R)}$, Ormco)으로 200 gm - 300 gm의 힘을 적용하였다. 동요도 검사는 희생 전에 Periotest$^{(R)}$(Siemens)로 측정하였다. 매식 12주 후에 관류고정 하였으며 시편은 레진 포매하여 Exakt system$^{(R)}$(Exakt)을 이용하여 비탈회 표본을 제작하였다. 표본은 H-E 염색한 뒤, 광학 현미경 상에서 검경하여 조직학적 소견을 분석하였고 조직계측학적 측정은 골접촉률과 골밀도로 분석하였다. 위와 같은 실험을 통하여 매식한 micro-implant의 탈락률과 동요도, 골접촉률 및 골밀도로 drill method 군과 drill-free method 군의 역학적 안정성 및 조직학적 생체 적합도를 비교, 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. micro-implant와 골의 계면은 기계적 접촉 뿐만 아니라 골유착도 있었다. 2. micro-implant의 탈락은 drill method 군이 더 높았다. 3. 동요도는 drill method 군이 전반적으로 더 컸다. 4. micro-implant와 골접촉 정도는 전반적으로 drill-free method 군에서 양호했다. 5. micro-implant 나사산 사이 내에 존재하는 골밀도는 전반적으로 drill-free method 군에서 더 높았다. 결론적으로, micro-implant는 매식시 drill-free method가 drill method보다 탈락률과 동요도 및 골접촉률과, 골밀도에서 더 우수한 결과를 보여 drilling 과정이 안정성과 골조직 치유 및 골유착에 영향을 미친다고 판단된다.

레이저빔을 이용한 알루미늄의 미세가공 (Micro Machining of Aluminium using Pulsed Laser Beam)

  • Micro fabrication technologies of aluminium have been required to satisfy many demands in technology fields. Pulsed laser beam machining can be an alternative method to accomplish the micro machining of aluminium. Pulsed laser beam can be applied to micro machining such as micro drilling and milling. Using pulsed laser beam, the machining characteristics of aluminium in micro drilling and milling were investigated according to average power, repetition rate, moving speed of spot. The laser beam machining with the optimal conditions can achieve precise micro figures. As a result, micro pattern, text and structures on aluminium surface was successfully fabricated by pulsed laser beam machining.

인쇄회로기판의 미세 신호 연결 홀 형성을 위한 레이저 드릴링 시스템 (Laser Drilling System for Fabrication of Micro via Hole of PCB)

  • The most costly and time-consuming process in the fabrication of today's multi-layer circuit board is drilling interconnection holes between adjacent layers and via holes within a layer. Decreasing size of via holes being demanded and growing number of via holes per panel increase drilling costs. Component density and electronic functionality of today's multi-layer circuit boards can be improved with the introduction of cost-effective, variable depth laser drilled blind micro via holes, and interconnection holes. Laser technology is being quickly adopted into the circuit board industry but can be accelerated with the introduction of a true production laser drilling system. In order to get optimized condition for drilling to FPCB (Flexible Printed Circuit Board), we use various drill pattern as drill step. For productivity, we investigate drill path optimization method. And for the precise drilling the thermal drift of scanner and temperature change of scan system are tested.
