This study was conducted to estimate relationship between temperature and egg development of Nannophya pygmaea, an endangerd dragonfly species in Korea, using eight different temperature conditions (17, 20, 22, 25, 28, 30, 33, and $36^{\circ}C$). Eggs of N. pygmaea were collected from female adults inhabited a small wetland in Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea, in June 2007. As a result, hatching rates were 2.86, 17.09, 24.32, 39.67, 34.43, 40.57, 44.79, and 1.75% at 17, 20, 22, 25, 28, 30, 33, and $36^{\circ}C$, respectively. The nonlinear model of the temperature related to egg development was well fit to the modified Sharpe and DeMichele model. The derived lower developmental threshold temperature for egg hatching was $14.02^{\circ}C$(y=0.005988x-0.084, $r^2$=0.99), and the derived optimal development temperature was $30{\sim}35^{\circ}C$.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of massage therapy and exercise therapy on body composition and blood cholesterol in the obese women. Sixteen college women were randomly assigned to aged $20.1{\pm}2.7$ years who had not exercised regurlarly, volunteered to participate in the present study as subjects. They completed a 12 weeks massage therapy and exercise therapy performed 3 times/week, for 60min/session. Massage put in exercise treatment effect of 12 weeks in BMI has shown a significant decrease those are before test $25.1{\pm}2.2$ to after test $23.7{\pm}3.2$(p<0.05). The waist measure/height has a difference by before test r=0.5 to after a test r=0.47, and waist measure/hips measure by before test r=0.8 to after test r=0.75. A total cholesterol(TC) average value has $187.6{\pm}36.9$ before test to $168{\pm}32.4$(p<0.05) after test, a significant difference. Also average value of LDLC has $114{\pm}33.8$ before test to $99.2{\pm}30.4$(p<0.05) that shows a difference, but HDLC was $52{\pm}7.5$ before test to $52.3{\pm}7.7$(p<0.05) after test which means a none difference. HDLC does not have any difference but total cholesterol and LDLC were significantly different. It was a short program of 3 times a week, 60 min/session but, a dance meditation exercise program with high strength self massage had given a big effect in consideration. Using these scientific studies data, wish a program related by obese could make an activation in a beauty part.

Human milk (HM) glycoproteins play important roles protecting infants against various pathogens. Recently, freezing HM is reported to affect some glycoproteins and freeze-drying is suggested as an alternative method. However, the effects of freeze-drying on HM glycoproteins were not evaluated yet. Six fresh HM samples were collected from three healthy mothers at 15 and 60th days of lactation from each mother. Each sample was divided into frozen and freeze-dried subgroups yielding totally 12 samples, and the glycoproteomic analysis was performed by liquid chromatography mass spectrometry. The results were compared between samples of 15 and 60th days of lactation, and before and after the freeze-drying. Totally, 203 glycoproteins were detected. The glycoprotein levels were not different between two groups of 15/60th day of lactation and before/after freeze-drying groups (P > 0.050). In addition, significant correlation of glycoprotein levels was found between the different lactation stages (r = 0.897, P < 0.001) and the status of freeze-drying (r = 0.887, P < 0.001) in a partial correlation analysis. As no significant change of HM glycoproteins was not found after the freeze-drying, we hope that introducing freeze-drying to HM banks is supported by the present study. Astradalus membranaceus root extract (ARE) contains saponins, flavonoids, and their glycosides. Two flavonoids, calycosin and formononetin, were predominant constituents with the different amount by diverse extraction conditions. ARE showed the anti-oxidative activities, inhibited tyrosinase activity, and increased type I procollagen expression in proportion to calycosin and formononetin contents. The clinical study also showed that skin wrinkles were significantly reduced in the test group treated with a cream formulation containging 0.1% ARE compared with a group treated with a cream formulation without 0.1% ARE (p < 0.05). These results suggest that ARE may have potential as an anti-aging ingredient in cosmetics.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between diabetic neuropathy, and glycemic control, self-management in type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) patients. This was a cross sectional descriptive study and data were collected between May 10 and 31, 2011 using a questionnaire and medical record. The participants were 108 with DM who were treated at the endocrine medical outpatient department. The data were analyzed Pearson's correlation with SPSS WIN program. The mean scores of neuropathic pain and self-management were $9.3{\pm}1.4$(Range 0-14.64) and $5.40{\pm}0.76$(Range 1-7), respectively. There were 33.3% of the patients whose HbA1c levels are higher than 7.5%. Neuropathic pain was positively correlated with glycemic control(r=.18, p=.035), and was negatively correlated with self-management(r=-.19, p=.023).

High yields of protoplasts were obtained following enzymatic digestion of the vagetative thalli of marine green alga Monostroma nitidum. The enzyme mixtures containing $4\%$ Cellulase R-10+$3\%$ Macerozyme R-10+$3\%$ Abalone acetone power produced $4.41\times10^6$ protoplasts per 300 mg of fresh tissue. The highest yield of protoplasts was obtained by 270 minutes treatment of the thalli in enzyme solution. Freshly isolated protoplasts were spherical in shape and ranged between $13\~33\mu$m in diameter. The high efficiency of differentiation were obtained by incubating freshly isolated protoplasts in 0.4 M mannitol f/2 medium for 7 days and then transferring to 0.2 M mannitol f/2 medium. Protoplasts began to form new cell walls three days after initial culture and began to germinate after 10 days, and then form a leafy thallus after further culture in f/2 medium. The addition of antibiotics in media inhibited the differentiation of protoplasts in culture.
The free radical initiated copolymerization of vinyl acetate (VAc) and bis(${\beta}$-chloroethyl)vinylphosphonate (BCVP) was studied. The monomer reactivity ratios for the monomer pair determined at $50^{\circ{C$ using benzoyl peroxide as an initiator are: $r_1 (VAc) = 0.33,\;r_2 (BCVP) = 0.47$ The values of Alfrey-Price's Q and e for the bis(${\beta}$-chloroethyl)vinylphosphonate were calculated to be 0.06 and 1.1, respectively. The statistical analyses for the monomer sequence distribution and the mean sequence length show that the copolymer formed from these two monomers are of fairly alternating tendency. Differential thermal analysis showed that thermal stability of the copolymers decreases as the content of BCVP in the copolymer increases.
Genioplasy with osteotomy is a flexible and useful procedure. However, osteotomy can cause different types of morbidity. Chin augmentation with porous polyethylene ($Medpor^{(R)}$) has become popular in the recent years. Porous polyethylene ($Medpor^{(R)}$) is an excellent biomaterial for reconstructing facial deformities. $Medpor^{(R)}$ has a porous architecture, which prevents capsule formation and decreases the degree of foreign-body reaction. In addition, it can be easily cut with scissors and molded, and it also maintains its shape. We report here on a satisfactory case of chin augmentation with using porous polyethylene ($Medpor^{(R)}$).
The purpose of this study was to isolate and characterize the Fusohacrerium nucleatum (F. nucleatum) from subgingival plaque in Korean periodontitis patients. The subgingival plaque samples of periodontitis patient were collected with sterilized paper point. The paper point was put into reduced transfer medium and then immediately transferred to laboratory. The subgingival samples were diluted by 10,000 folds and plated on F. nucleatum-selective media agar plate. The plates were incubated at 37$^{\circ}C$ in an anaerobic chamber for 3 days. The violet-colored colonies were selected and subjected to further verification whether those are F. nucleatum or not. For further confirmation, 16S rRNA genes (rDNA) were cloned from each of bacterial clones and determined sequence of 16S rDNA. In this study, we found 17 distinct clinical isolates of F. nucleatum from subgingival plaque. The clinical isolates will be a useful in various studies in periodontology.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate factors affecting handwashing practice among elementary school students by assessing the perception of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) and characteristics related to knowledge, attitude, and practice of handwashing. Methods: The cross-sectional study design and an online self-reported survey were used in this study. The subjects were 211 elementary students at a school located in G province, Korea. Data were collected from January 4 to 8, 2021. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0. Results: Mean scores for knowledge, attitude, and practice of handwashing were 17.09 (out of 20), 21.15 (out of 24), and 27.51 (out of 33), respectively. There were significant positive correlations between the perception of COVID-19 and knowledge of handwashing (r=.23, p=.001), between knowledge and attitude toward handwashing (r=.45, p<.001), between knowledge and practice of handwashing (r=.18, p=.010), and between attitude and practice of handwashing (r=.28, p<.001). The factors influencing handwashing practice were handwashing frequency at home (β=.39, p<.001), handwashing frequency at school (β=.18, p=.006), and attitude toward handwashing (β=.15, p=.026), which explained 34.2% of the variance. Conclusion: These results suggest a need to raise awareness of the importance of handwashing and develop an education program for infectious disease prevention.
