수학교육에서 컴퓨터 활용에 대한 소고 (A Study on the Computer-Usage in the Mathematics Education)

  • The aim of this study is to examine the contributions of the computer in the method of mathematics education. And we investigate how computer introduced in the side of methodology affects the content of mathematics education. Moreover we analyze the transformations of the nature and essence of the mathematical knowledge intented to be taught. Finally, on the basis on this analysis, we propose the important points that should be considered in the computer-usage in the mathematics education.

  • In this paper, we prove the stability in random normed spaces via fixed point method for the functional equation $$f(x+y+z)-f(x+y)-f(y+z)-f(x+z)+f(x)+f(y)+f(z)=0$$. by using a fixed point theorem in the sense of L. C$\breve{a}$dariu and V. Radu.

유아 교사의 수학교수 효능감에 따른 수학수업실제에 관한 연구 (The Effects of Kindergarten Teachers' Efficacy Belief on Mathematics Education Practices)

  • This study examines the effect that mathematics teaching efficacy has on teacher's mathematics education practices. Data was obtained from 220 kindergarten teachers who responded to the questionnaire, the mathematics teaching efficacy belief instrument (developed by Enochs). Among these 220 teachers, upper and lower 5 % of the teachers on mathematics teaching efficacy belief were chosen to identify the influence of mathematics teaching efficacy on mathematics activity style, teaching strategy, and teacher-child interaction. The results indicated that teacher's interest in math, previous participation in mathematics teaching method course mainly influenced mathematics teaching self-efficacy. Teachers with high mathematics teaching efficacy belief preferred providing mathematical learning activity than providing other learning areas. They employed effective mathematics teaching strategy such as high and medium cognitive distancing strategy and established positive teacher-child relationship. Implications for teacher education and professional development activities were discussed.

  • 본 연구에서는 학생중심의 수학 및 과학 교육법으로 화제가 되고 있는 STEM교육의 유래와 STEM 교육을 대학교육에 부분적으로 적용하고 있는 Hands-on교육과 일본대학의 수리공교육의 사례를 조사한다. STEM교육은 학생들이 기술과 공학의 문제에서 수학의 필요성을 자각하도록 하고, 더 나아가 수학교과에 대한 수동적 학습태도를 능동적으로 바꾸는데 적합한 방법으로 부상되고 있지만, S(과학), T(기술), E(공학), M(수학)의 물리적 융합이 아닌 화학적 융합으로써 현행 대학 교과과정에 바로 적용하기에는 다소 무리한 측면이 있다. 따라서 실제 프로젝트에서 고려되어야 하는 T와 E를 졸업작품에서 스스로 찾도록 하고, 이 자발적인 발견을 수학교과목과 연계하는 Pseudo-STEM교육법을 제안한다.

수학 학습 부진아의 개별화 교수 방법 (A Study on the Individualized Teaching method for Underachievers in Mathematics)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine meaning, factors, and diagnostic method of underachievers in mathematics and to propose the idea of the individualized teaching method for underachievers. For the first purpose, previous literatures on underachievers are reviewed. For the second purpose, this study described the procedure of developing the individualized instructional program, and the method of diagnosing and prescribing errors in mathematics. In the future, individualized instructional program need to be developed based on correct diagnosis of factors effecting under achievement for the effective teaching of underachievers.

확률.통계 연구에 대한 수학교육학적 고찰 -<수학교육>에 게재된 논문을 중심으로- (A Trend Analysis on the Educational Research of the Probability and Statistics - Focused on Papers Published in , the Journal of Korea Society of Mathematical Education -)

  • The purpose of this study is to see what the essential characteristics are in teaching probability and statistics among various mathematical fields. we also tried to connect the study of probability and statistics education with what is needed for a science be synthetic to have its own identity as a unique research field. Since we searched for the future direction of the pedagogic study in the probability and statistics we first selected papers on probability and statistics published in (Series A), the Journal of Korea Society of Mathematical Education, and establish the following research questions. What kinds of characteristics can be found when papers on probability and statistics published in (Series A) are classified into low categories; contents of probability and statistics education, research method of the mathematics education, methods of teaming and teaching, and finally measurements and evaluation\ulcorner We classified papers into two kinds. One is related to the educational contents, consisting of the methods of learning and teaching, and of the measurement and evaluation. The other is reined to the methods of research, which is not a part of the educational curriculum but is essential for establishing the identity of mathematics education. According to the periods, papers on the curricular contents in 1960s were influenced by the New Mathematics, and papers on the curricular contents in 1980s were influenced by 'back to basic'. In 1990s, papers on methods of learning and teaching, and measurement md evaluation were increasing in number. Besides, (series A) from the Journal of Korea Society of Mathematical Education covers contents, methods of Loaming and teaching, and measurement and evaluation. And when I examined the papers on the contents of textbook of a junior high school related to the probability and statistics education and on methods of learning and teaching, 1 found that those papers occupy 1.84% in . When it comes to the methods of loaming and teaching, most of studies in (series A) are about application of concrete implement like experiment and practical application of computer programs, Through this study, I found that over-all and more active researches on probability and statistics are required and that the studies about methods of loaming and teaching must be made in diverse directions. It is needed that how students recognize probability and statistics, connection, communication and representation in probability and statistics context, too. (series A) does not have papers on methods of study. Mathematics pedagogy is a mixture of various studies - mathematical psychology, mathematical philosophy, the history of mathematics and Mathematics. So If there doesn't exist a proper method of study adequate in the situation for the mathematics education the issue of mathematics pedagogy might be taken its own place by that of other studies'. We must search for the unique method of study fur mathematics education so that mathematics pedagogy has its own identity as a study. The study concerning this aspect is needed.

Portfolio Assessment as a Policy for Innovating Mathematics Classrooms

  • For the balanced realization of these values of mathematical culture, we need to innovate mathematics classrooms, for which we need to make use of portfolio assessment. First, portfolio assessment can be regarded as a method of synthesizing a variety of resources for systematic evaluation. Second, portfolio assessment can be used as a tool of building up learners' positive attitude toward mathematics, by which we can identify the latent possibility of learners' development and help them develop confidence in mathematics. Third, portfolio assessment can play an important role as a tool for exploring the method of teaching and learning in which learners recognize the value of mathematics and are interested in mathematical activities, as we have seen in the report on the Gulliver's Travels Project.

  • This paper discusses and searches for mathematical analysis and efficient algorithm for types of wallpapers. We study some previous classification methods, develop a systematic process, and present some examples of determining types of wallpaper through our algorithm. Through this approach, we expect to introduce a mathematical perspective on relation between real life and mathematics.
