The vehicle oriented block box system based on the u-healthcare and the human-free guard functions is developed in this paper. We also suggested the design philosophies, ideas, and analyzed the performance of the suggested system. The developed vehicle oriented black box system has some characteristics such as; 1) detects the dangerous situation by ultrasonic sensor in advance, and stores the situation information of the neighborhood of the vehicle to the imbedded SD memory card if the dangerous situation may be occurred in the parked vehicle; 2) detects the present location and speed information of the vehicle by GPS receiver and 3-axes acceleration sensor, and stores the information to the SD memory card periodically if the vehicle is running; 3) measures the dioxide carbon in the vehicle inside using $CO_2$ sensor, and forces the ventilation motor of the vehicle to operate and maintains the driver's health if the measured level is more than standard health requirements; 4) provides the stored vehicle's operating information to the driver by GUI (Graphical User Interface) based touch LCD monitor.

This talk provides an overview of current work in my research group on the syntactic annotation of the T bingen corpus of spoken German and of the German Reference Corpus (Deutsches Referenzkorpus: DEREKO) of written texts. Morpho-syntactic and syntactic annotation as well as annotation of function-argument structure for these corpora is performed automatically by a hybrid architecture that combines robust symbolic parsing with finite-state methods ("chunk parsing" in the sense Abney) with memory-based parsing (in the sense of Daelemans). The resulting robust annotations can be used by theoretical linguists, who lire interested in large-scale, empirical data, and by computational linguists, who are in need of training material for a wide range of language technology applications. To aid retrieval of annotated trees from the treebank, a query tool VIQTORYA with a graphical user interface and a logic-based query language has been developed. VIQTORYA allows users to query the treebanks for linguistic structures at the word level, at the level of individual phrases, and at the clausal level.

We have successfully demonstrated of metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) capacitors with $HfO_2$/p-Si structures. The $HfO_2$ film was grown at $200^{\circ}C$ on H-terminated Si wafer by atomic layer deposition (ALD) system. TEMAHf and $H_2O$ were used as the hafnium and oxygen sources. A cycle of the deposition process consisted of 0.1 s of TEMAHf pulse, 10 s of $N_2$ purge, 0.1 s of $H_2O$ pulse, and 60 s of $N_2$ purge. The 5 nm thick $HfO_2$ layer prepared on Si substrate by ALD exhibited excellent electrical properties, including low leakage currents, no mobile charges, and a good interface with Si.

In this paper, we have developed page level input system of the character reading aid for the blind. Input toys)ems arse consisted with 512 pixels line image sensor, optical lento, digital interface for the computer and its control software. Input buffer size of the computer memory that for the single scanning of printed matters Image is 64kB. Image patterns of the reading characters which stored in system memory are converted to tactile character patterns that would be output to the bimorph tactile sensor by software control.

The wide spread of multimedia system demands a large viewin gdesply device which can inform a message to many peoples in open area. This paper is about the design, simulating and testing of a large viewing LED pannel control ASIC(application specific integrated circuit). This LED pannel control ASIC runs on 16 bit microprocessor MC68EC000 and has following functions:16 line interlaced LED pannel controller, memory controller, 16 channel priority inerrupt controller, 2 channel direct memory access controller, 2 channel 12 bit clock and timer, 2 channel infrared remocon receiver, 2 channel RS-232C with 16byte FIFO, IBM PC/AT compatible keyboard interface, battery backuped real time clock, ISA bus controller, battery backuped 256 byte SRAM and watech dog timer. The 0.6micron CMOS sea of gate is used to design the ASIC in amount of about 39,000 gates.

This study investigates the optimum design parameters of a superelastic friction base isolator (S-FBI) system through a multi-objective genetic algorithm to improve the performance of isolated buildings against near-fault earthquakes. The S-FBI system consists of a flat steel-PTFE sliding bearing and superelastic NiTi shape memory alloy (SMA) cables. Sliding bearing limits the transfer of shear across the isolation interface and provides damping from sliding friction. SMA cables provide restoring force capability to the isolation system together with additional damping characteristics. A three-story building is modeled with S-FBI isolation system. Multiple-objective numerical optimization that simultaneously minimizes isolation-level displacements and superstructure response is carried out with a genetic algorithm in order to optimize S-FBI system. Nonlinear time history analyses of the building with optimal S-FBI system are performed. A set of 20 near-fault ground motion records are used in numerical simulations. Results show that S-FBI system successfully control response of the buildings against near-fault earthquakes without sacrificing in isolation efficacy and producing large isolation-level deformations.

An existing ATM switch fabric uses VPI(Virtual Path Identifier) and VCI(Virtual Channel Identifier) information to route ATM cell. But AAL type 2 switch which efficiently processes delay-sensitive, low bit-rate data such as a voice routes the ATM cell by using CID(Channel Identification) field in addition to VPI and VCI. In this paper, we research the AAL type 2 switch that performs the process of CPS packet. The Receive unit extracts the CPS packet from the inputted ATM cell. The designed receive unit consists of input FIFO, r)( status table, CAM(Content Addressable Memory), new CID table and partial packet memory. Also the designed receive unit supports the PCI interface with host processor. The receive unit is implemented in Xilinx FPGA and operates at 72MHz.

Current paper introduces the additional multimedia module for digital TV. The module is developed for displaying the image captured by digital still camera, camcorder, or PC in the digital TV. For these purpose, the module has the interface circuit for accessing five media type of memory cards. It decodes JPEG, BMP, or TIFF image data saved in the memory card and converts the image data to analog RGB signal. It also supports three types of output image size from HD to WXGA resolution. So the introduced module could be adopted In the most of digital TV.

Recently, Nand flash memory is widely used for digital equipments and its capacity and performance are rapidly improving. The limit on the number of writings and readings to/from Nand flash memory does not guarantee the integrity of its data. Therefore, ECC algorithm should be applied to the Nand flash controller. To reduce the access time, we use the look-up table to implement the ECC algorithm instead of the conventional logic gates.
