SMA 작동기를 이용한 스마트 복합재 구조의 형상 제어에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Shape Control of Smart Composite Structure with SMA actuators)

  • In this paper, active shape control of composite structure actuated by shape memory alloy (SMA) wires is presented. Hybrid composite structure was established by attaching SMA actuators on the surfaces of graphite/epoxy composite beam using bolt-joint connectors. SMA actuators were activated by phase transformation, which induced by temperature rising over austenite finish temperatures. In this paper, electrical resistive heating was applied to the hybrid composite structures to activate the SMA actuators. For faster and more accurate shape or deflection control of the hybrid composite structure, PID feedback controller was designed from numerical simulations and experimentally applied to the SMA actuators.

  • This paper describes the design and FPGA implementation of a system control unit within a multiprocessor chip which can be used as a node processor ina massively parallel processing (MPP) caches, memory management units, a bus unit and a system control unit. Major functions of the system control unit are locking/unlocking of the shared variables of protected access, synchronization of instruction execution among four integer untis, control of interrupts, generation control of processor's status, etc. The system control unit was modeled in very high level using verilog HDL. Then, it was simulated and verified in an environment where trap handler and external interrupt controller were added. Functional blocks of the system control unit were changed into RTL(register transfer level) model and synthesized using xilinx FPGA cell library in synopsys tool. The synthesized system control unit was implemented by Xilinx FPGA chip (XC4025EPG299) after timing verification.

  • Solid State Drive(SSD)는 NAND Flash Memory와 이틀 제어하는 Controller로 구성되는 차세대 대용량 저장매체로써 기존의 HDD에 비해 상대적으로 읽기 및 쓰기가 빠르고,동작 중 전력소비가 적으며, 또한 발열이 낮고, 강한 내구성을 가지고 있기 때문에 PC에서 HDD보다 더 적합한 저장매체라 할 수 있다. 하지만, 가격이 비싸다는 점과 아직 안정성이 검증되지 않은 이유로 HDD를 대체하는데 시간이 더 필요하다. 안정성을 높이기 위해 많은 개발자들이 노력을 하고 있음에도 불구하고 공통적으로 겪는 문제점중에 하나가 바로 객관적인 성능 및 품질을 판단하는 테스트 기준이 없다는 것이다. 본 논문에서 다루고자 하는 내용은 기존 HDD 및 SSD 테스트의 한계침을 찾아보고 이를 보완한 테스트 기준을 제안함으로써, 많은 개발자들이 SSD 개발에 있어 좀 더 정확한 테스트로 SSD의 성능 및 안정성을 높이는데 가여할 수 있도록 SSD 테스트 관점에서의 Key word를 결론으로 제시하고자 한다.

  • This paper presents a link layer design of DisplayPort interface with a state machine based on packet processing. The DisplayPort link layer provides isochronous video/audio transport service, link service, and device service. The merged video, audio main link, and AUX channel controller are implemented with 7,648 LUTs(Loop Up Tables), 6020 register, and 821,760 of block memory bits synthesized using a FPGA board and it operates at 203.32MHz.

  • This research is about the remote control of the infra-ray signal producer and the received signal memory-type control unit. Also by using the infra-ray signal from the remote control, reduction of malfunctions due to infra-ray signal from other devices are presented. Applications on various electric and electronic items to improve the convenience are also shown.

  • This paper proposes a new type of HDD suspension integrated with shape memory alloy(SMA) actuator in order to prevent the friction between the slider and the disk. A finite element analysis is undertaken to investigate modal characteristics of the proposed self loading/unloading slider. The dynamic model is formulated and its validity is proved by comparing the predicted displacement transmissibility with the measured one. A control model is then established by integrating experimentally-obtained SMA actuator dynamics. Subsequently, a sliding mode controller is designed to achieve non-contact start/stop(Non CSS) modes, and control results are presented in time domain.

  • This paper proposes a new and simple input prediction method for robust servo system. A robust tracking control system for optical disk drives to reject disk runout was recently proposed based on both Coprime Factorization(CF) and Zero Phase Error Tracking(ZPET) control. The CF control system can be designed simply and systematically. Moreover, this system has not only stability but also robustness to parameter uncertainties and disturbance rejection capability. Since optical disk tracking servo systems can detect only racking error, it was proposed that the reference input signal for ZPET could be estimated from tracking errors. In this paper, we propose a new control structure for the ZPET controller. It requires less memory than the previously proposed method for the reference signal generation. Therefore, it is very effective in runout control. Furthermore, this method can be applied to defective optical disk like surface defects on disk. Numerical simulation and experimental result show the proposed method effective.

Overview of flexure-based compliant microgrippers

  • Microgripper is an essential device in the micro-operation system. It can convert other types of energy into mechanical energy and produce clamp movement with required chucking force, which enables it a broad application prospect in the domain of tiny components' processing and assembly, biomedicine and optics, etc. The performance of a microgripper is dependent on its power supply, type of drive, mechanism structure, sensing components, and controller. This paper presents a state-of-the-art survey of recent development on flexure-based microgrippers. According to the drive type, the existing microgrippers can be mainly classified as electrostatic microgripper, electrothermal microgripper, electromagnetic microgripper, piezoelectric microgripper, and shape memory alloy microgripper. Additionally, some different mechanisms, sensors, and control methods that are used in microgripper system are reviewed. The key issue of how to choose those components in microgripper system design is also addressed.

Core-A를 이용한 실시간 영상 신호 처리 SoC 설계 (Core-A based real-time video signal processing SoC design)

  • 본 논문에서는 Core-A를 이용한 실시간 영상 신호 처리 SoC 설계와 검증에 대해 기술한다. 영상 신호 처리를 위한 방식으로 SoC를 사용하였으며 영상 처리를 위한 ISP를 설계하였다. 영상 처리를 위한 마이크로프로세서는 코드밀도를 높이고 Verilog HDL을 사용하여 기술되어 여러 응용분야에서 최적화할 수 있는 국내에서 개발된 Core-A를 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 SoC는 Verilog HDL언어로 설계 되었고, 기본 SoC의 구조는 Core-A, AMBA Bus, ISP, Memory controller, Uart로 구성하였다. 구현된 SoC는 다양한 영상 신호 처리를 지원하여 향후 영상압축 인코더의 실시간 이미지 처리용 소스로 사용할 수 있고 신호 처리 알고리즘 검증용에도 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 설계 검증을 위해 먼저 FPGA를 이용하여 검증하였으며 TSMC $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS공정으로 합성한 결과 동작주파수는 50MHz, 전체 게이트 수 86.1k로 확인되었다.
