솔더 페이스트의 용융현상 연구 (A Study on Melting Phenomena of Solder Paste)

  • SMT(Surface Mount Technology)패키징 공정에서 발생하는 솔더 페이스트의 용융거동과 브릿지 현상을 관찰하였다. 이를 위하여 Cu 패드위에 Sn-37%Pb 조성의 솔더 페이스트를 인쇄하였으며, 인쇄된 PCB기판을 솔더의 융점($183^{\circ}C$)이상으로 가열하였다. 이 때에 페이스트의 용융거동을 조사하기 위하여 CCD카메라를 이용하여 근접촬영하였다. 솔더링시 솔더 페이스트가 용융.응집되는 과정을 규명하기 위하여 동일한 조성의 0.76 mm직경을 갖는 두 개의 솔더 볼을 사용하여 모델링 하였다. 솔더 페이스트의 용융거동을 관찰한 결과 페이스트는 인쇄된 부분의 가장자리에서 안쪽으로 녹아들어가는 모습을 보였다. 또한, 페이스트의 높이는 가열 초기 270 $\mu\textrm{m}$에서 가열후 약 35초 경과시 200 $\mu\textrm{m}$로 줄어들었다가 최종적으로 250 $\mu\textrm{m}$로 다시 증가하였으며, 이 때 용융된 페이스트 내에서 기포가 방출되었다. 솔더볼의 용융모델에서 용융온도가 $280^{\circ}C$인 경우에 솔더볼의 접촉면적과 솔더링 시간 사이에는 $\chi^2/t=4r \; \gamma/\eta=7.56 m^2$/s의 관계식이 성립됨을 알 수 있었다.

PET 완전배향사의 열처리에 따른 내부구조 변화 (The Microstructural Changes of Heat Set PET Fully Drawn Yarns)

  • PET FDY was heat set at various temperatures and times and the microstructural changes was investigated through crystallinity, birefringence and melting behavior analyses. Crystallinity of heat set PET increased as the treatment temperature and time increased. Birefringence also increased as temperature and time increased. The melting behavior of heat set PET was as follows: In most cases, PET showed double melting peaks. As temperature and time increased, form II crystal became sharp and increased in size, and form I crystal decreased in size. The slower the heating rate, the higher the programmed heating effect during DSC analysis.

Miscibility and Properties of cis-Polybutadiene/Ethyl-Branched Polyethylene Blends (II)

  • Cis-Polybutadiene (cis-PBD) and the three polyethylenes (PE's) having different branch content were mixed to investigate crystallinity, thermodynamic interaction parameter(c), and diluents effect. Crys-tallinty of PE's decreased with increasing content of amorphous cis-PBD because of a decrease in both the degree of annealing and kinetics of diffusion of the crystallizable polymer content. The thermodynamic interaction parameter(c) for the three blend systems approximately equals to zero near the melting point. These systems were determined to be miscible on a molecular scale near or above the crystalline melting point of the crystalline PE's. From the measurement of T$\sub$m/ vs. T$\sub$c/ behavior, all the three blends showed a straight line for a plot of T$\sub$m/ vs. T$\sub$c/. This result means that the melting behavior of PE is mainly due to a diluent effect of cis-PBD component.

수평원관내 부분적으로 채원진 상변화물질의 융해과정 (Experimental Study of Close-Contact Melting of Phase-Change Medium Partially Filled in a Horizontal Cylinder)

  • An experiment of close contact melting of phase-change medium partially filled in an isothermally heated horizontal cylinder is performed which involves the volume expansion of liquid induced by the solid-liquid density difference. The solid-liquid interface motion and the free surface behavior of liquid were reported photographically. The experimental results show that the curvature of upper solid-liquid interface varied to flat as melting progresses. In addition to the varying interface shape, the melting rate increases with the lower initial height of solid and the free surface height of liquid increases linearly. The experimental results of molten mass fraction were expressed in a function of dimensionless time Fo.Ste$^{3}$4/ and agreed well with the analytical solutions.

  • It is difficult to remove such interstitial impurities as sulfur, oxygen, hydrogen and carbon in Fe-Ni alloys. Thermodynamic and kinetic studies were carried out on the behavior of hydrogen gas, oxygen gas, Si, Al and slag, and the reaction time by the $Ar/Ar-H_2$ plasma and electron beam melting. After the addition of Al, Si, they were melted by Ar plasma with reaction time changed. 80%Ni-Fe alloys showed a better deoxidation than 36%Ni-Fe alloys. At $Ar-H_2$ plasma melting, the deoxidation was significant. In the case of the electron beam melting, the residual oxygen was higher than in Ar plasma melting because electron beam melting temperature was lower than that of Ar plasma. For the decaburization, it was melted by $Ar-O_2$ plasma melting, which could remove effectively carbon by activated oxygen in plasma. We added slag to Fe-Ni alloys for the desulfurization. As the result of this experiments, the amount of residual sulfur was not changed according to the slag ratio and reaction time.

저온융착 폴리에스테르사 함유 팬시사 직물의 열처리 특성 및 염색성 (Heat Processing and Dyeing Properties of Fabrics by Using Composite Fancy Yarn Containing Low Melting PET Yarn)

  • The thermal bonding PET fabrics were produced through high temperature steaming (HTS) of low melting PET yarn as warp and composite fancy yarn containing low melting PET yarn as weft. The low melting PET yarn of sheath-core structure consisted of a regular PET in core portion and low melting PET in sheath portion. The composite fancy yarn consisted of regular PET yarn as inner part and effect part and low melting PET yarn as binding part. This study was carried out to investigate the melting behavior of thermal bonded PET fabric, the effect of HTS on the thermal bonding, mechanical properties, and dyeing properties. The melting peak of low melting PET yarn showed two melting peaks caused by sheath-core structure. Almost the entire thermal bonding of the fancy PET fabrics containing low melting PET yarn has formed at $200^{\circ}C{\times}3min$ of HTS. The tensile strength in warp and weft direction of the fancy PET fabrics slightly decreased as temperature of HTS increased. The total K/S value of the fancy PET fabrics decreased slightly to $180^{\circ}C{\times}3min$ of HTS, while increased slightly above $200^{\circ}C{\times}3min$ of HTS. The changes in the hue angle ($H^{\circ}$) of the thermal bonded fancy PET fabrics dyed with disperse dyes hardly ever happened.

대표적인 열분해가스화 용융시설의 공정별 다이옥신 배출거동에 관한 연구 (A study on the Dioxin behavior in the process of representative pyrolysis/gasfication/melting plant)

  • The incineration process has commonly used for wastes amount reduction and thermal treatments of pollutants as the technologies accumulated. However, the process is getting negative public images owing to matter of hazardous pollutants emission. Specially dioxins became a main issue and is mostly emitted from municipal solid wastes incineration. In this reason, pyrolysis/gasfication/melting process is presented as a alternative of incineration process. The pyrolysis/gasfication/melting process, a novel technology, is middle of verification of commercial plant and development of technologies in Korea. But the survey about the pollutant emission from the process, and background data in these facilities is necessary. So in this survey, it Is investigated that the behavior of dioxins in three pyrolysis/gasfication/melting plant (S, T, P) of pilot scale. In case of S plant, concentration of dioxins shows high at latter part of cogenerated boiler and stack which are operate on low temperature conditions than a latter parts of pyrolysis and melting furnace which are operate on high temperature condition. Concentration of gas phage dioxins had increased after combusted gas passed cogenerated boiler and this is attributed to react of precursor materials such as chlorobenzene and chlorophenol. Concentration of dioxins in T plant showed lower levels at latter part of cooling equipment which are operate with water spray type on low temperature conditions than a latter parts of gasfied melting furnace which are operate on high temperature condition. Removal efficiency of dioxins at gas treatment equipment was 78.8 %. Concentration of dioxins in P plant was low at latter part of SDA/BF which is operate at low temperature conditions than a latter parts of pyrolysis gasfied chamber which are operate at high temperature condition. Removal efficiency of dioxins of SDA/BF was 85.9 % and therefore, it showed high efficiency at those of stoker type incineration facility. However, concentration of dioxins which emitted at high temperature condition were low in three facilities and satisfied present standard emission level of dioxins. To consider the distribution ratio of dioxins, Particulate phase dioxins at S and P plants showed similar ratio with which shows in current stoker type for middle scale domestic waste incineration facility. It is necessary to continuos monitoring the ratio of distribution of dioxins in T plant in because ratio of gas phage dioxins showed high.

복합사를 이용한 난연 직물의 제조와 특성 (Fabrication and Characteristics of Flame Retardant Fabric Developed by using Bicomponent Filament)

  • The purpose of this study is to fabricate the flame retardant polyester fabric by thermal bonding with low melting component of flame retardant bicomponent filament(LMFRPC) and to describe the characteristics of thermal bonded fabrics. The fabrics were prepared with flame retardant polyester filaments(FRP) as warp and blended filaments of FRP and LMFRPC as weft. The LMFRPC have a sheath and a core wherein the core comprises a flame retardant polyester and the sheath comprises a thermoplastic polyester of low-melting point. In this study, we investigated the physical properties, melting behavior of filament, the effect of the component of FRP and LMFRPC on the thermal bonding, mechanical properties. Melting peak of LMFRPC showed the double melting peak. The thermal bonding of the fabric formed at lower melting peak temperature of bicomponent filament of LMFRPC. The optimum thermal bonding conditions for fabrics was applied at about $170^{\circ}C$ for 60 seconds by pin tenter. On the other hand, the tensile strength, elongation, and LOI of the fabric increased with an increasing component of FRP of weft.

An Experimental Study on the Defrosting Behavior of a Fin-Tube Heat Exchanger

  • The effect of various conditions of frosting and defrosting on the defrosting behavior of a fin-tube heat exchanger has been examined experimentally. An electric heater is used for defrosting in a fin-tube heat exchanger. There are several local maxima in the water draining rate. The amount of residual water on the heat exchanger after completion of defrosting is kept constant due to surface tension on the heat exchanger. Without considering degradation of the thermal performance due to the frosting, the defrosting efficiency is improved with increasing amount of frost irrespective of the frosting condition. The defrosting behavior is affected by frosting density as well as frost accumulation, both of which vary with the experimental operating conditions. The heat loss to the surrounding air decreases, and melting and defrosting efficiencies show high values with decreasing heat input.
