The present study was conducted to examine the feasibility of utilising bamboo (Bambusa arundinacea) shoot shell (BSS) in ruminants. Chemical composition, rumen degradability and some antinutritional compounds were determined for fresh and boiled BSSs to evaluate its feed value and safety. Thirty-two Holstein heifers were allocated to four groups and used to investigate the response in growth rate to supplementing ammoniated rice straw with fresh shell (phase 1) or silage of boiled BSS (phase 2). All animals were offered ammoniated straw ad libitum with 1kg of cotton seed meal (phase 1) or 0.5 kg of cotton seed meal and 0.5 kg of concentrate mixture (phase 2) per head per day. The BSS was supplemented at levels of 0, 3, 6 or 9 kg/d (phase 1) and 0, 5, 10 or 15 kg/d (phase 2) (as fed basis). The BSS was very high in moisture content, and its contents of crude protein and neutral detergent fiber were 13~16% DM and 65~76% DM, respectively; boiling resulting in higher moisture and protein. No hydrocyanic acid was detected in both BSSs and content of tannins was negligible. Rumen degradability of BSS was reasonably high, and with boiling the rapidly degradable fraction decreased, and potentially degradable component increased. Silage of the boiled BSS was slightly lower in both rapidly and slowly degraded fractions than the fresh BSS. Animals consumed all supplemented BSSs without any adverse health problems. Intake of ammoniated straw decreased with the increasing levels of BSS, but total intake was higher in almost all supplementary groups than in the non-BSS. Heifers had a higher growth rate in phase 1 with fresh BSS than in phase 2 with ensiled shell, and daily weight gains were 622, 629, 744 or 690 g in phase 1, and 578, 575, 677 or 635 g in phase 2 at four BSS levels, respectively. For both phases growth rate was significantly higher for the animals in groups 3 and 4 than those in groups 1 and 2 (p<0.01), with little difference between groups 1 and 2 (p>0.05) but significant difference between groups 3 and 4 (p<0.05). Supplementation with BSS also resulted in an improved feed conversion rate, with the least concentrate consumption in group 3 for both phases. It is concluded that the BSS has a high potential nutritional value as indicated by its medium protein content, reasonably high rumen degradability, and that inclusion of BSS in ammoniated rice straw diet is not only safe to animals, but also may improve growth rate of ruminants and feed conversion rate. It may be disadvantageous to use high amounts of BSS in ammoniated straw diets.
Forty weanling piglets ($5.6{\pm}0.5kg$ and 26 to 30 d of age) were used in a 28-d experiment to determine the effects of ${\beta}$-glucan from Paenibacillus polymyxa and L-theanine on growth performance. Piglets were randomly allotted to four groups (n = 10, 2 animals per pen) provided with the basal feed (control), ${\beta}$-glucan 400 mg/kg feed, L-theanine 80 mg/kg feed or ${\beta}$-glucan plus l-theanine (combination of the above-mentioned concentrations). Body weight and feed consumption were recorded during four weeks. Subsequently, the immunomodulatory effects of ${\beta}$-glucan and L-theanine were investigated for lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced cytokine production in vitro and in vivo on day 28. Although there were no significant differences in the growth performances among the treatment groups, ${\beta}$-glucan plus L-theanine had 5.6% greater ADG (p = 0.074) on day 21 to 28. ${\beta}$-Glucan alone or plus L-theanine increased interleukin (IL)-10 levels and decreased interferon (IFN)-$\gamma$ and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$ levels in cultured medium by LPS treatment (p<0.05). Plasma IL-10 levels were also increased in the piglets fed with ${\beta}$-glucan alone or plus L-theanine after LPS challenge ($25{\mu}g/kg$, i.p.), whereas plasma IFN-$\gamma$ and TNF-${\alpha}$ levels were decreased (p<0.05). The levels of IFN$\gamma$ in piglets fed with ${\beta}$-glucan plus L-theanine showed the greatest inhibition after LPS challenges. In conclusion, treatment of ${\beta}$-glucan alone or plus L-theanine might lessen inflammatory responses against Gram-negative bacterial infection via the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine production and enhancement of anti-inflammatory cytokine production. Further studies are needed to determine an optimal concentration of ${\beta}$-glucan and L-theanine for improved growth performance.
The purpose of this study is to develop a nursing activity cost calculation program based on Lee's doctoral dissertation using TD-ABC. The developed program has been supplemented with data storage, print out, and graph conversion functions to expand the application possibility. The development of the program consisted of three steps: program requirements analysis, program design and development, and program validation. This program was designed not only to do the cost calculation, but also to compare the cost-effectiveness and cost consumption trends. Consequently, this program is meaningful in that the nursing manager can obtain the cost information necessary for nursing unit management and extend the utilization so that the cost management strategy can be established based on the cost information. Therefore, we propose that the cost-management capacity of clinical nurses should be strengthened and the nursing performance measurement research should be expanded by applying it to various actual clinical nursing management settings. It is suggested that this program should be used as a training medium to strengthen nurse cost management capacity by combining nursing management curriculum at undergraduate level.
Purpose - This study used empirical methods to investigate the consciousness structure of vendors in the S marketing area, which is a commercial revitalization district in the country, and examined its effect on their business activities. Based on the results derived through the performance of an actual proof analysis, this study aims to facilitate the promotion of changes in the consciousness structures of traditional market vendors, with a view to allowing them to adapt to the current economic realities in the country. Further, this study aims to provide suggestions that would improve the efficiency of the commercial revitalization program of the government. Research design, data, and methodology - This study examined all the stores in the S marketing area using a questionnaire survey conducted over three weeks beginning on July 4, 2012, and involved the performance of a data analysis on 1,859 samples. The questionnaire consisted of two parts. The first part addressed the market revitalization and the second part addressed the store management strategies. Questionnaire responses were calibrated based on a Likert scale. Statistical analysis was conducted using PASW version 18.0. Results - The results of the analysis of the consciousness structure of merchants in the S marketing area have led to the discovery that they have a medium level of satisfaction with market revitalization. There was a difference in the perceptions of the concept of store management between merchants and customers. Merchants have poor strategies for store management, which do not go much beyond an imitation of the practices of large domestic discount stores. Conclusions - The appearance of big discount stores and the accompanying changes in people's consumption patterns have led to a decline in local market areas. The government has sought new ways to secure autogenic power for local markets. To create regional economies, the government enacted a revised "Law for creating traditional markets and shopping streets" in 2010 and introduced a commercial district revitalization program. This program, which originally supported only the S marketing area, has subsequently expanded into neighboring shopping districts so that the whole of the regional market can be revitalized. However, since the revitalization of the traditional market and the government support required for it were mostly limited to facilities, the result has not proved to be effective. Although there are several reasons why the government investment was characterized by poor efficiency, traditional market vendors' consciousness structure, which did not adapt well to the vagaries of time and its consequent changes, was a major cause. Only when vendors have a true merchant spirit can they have a real service focus that will enable them to clearly understand the distribution organization. This will have the effect of bring about complete customer satisfaction and will ensure the survival and development of traditional markets.

Today's sports, by themselves, express a wide variety of phenomena and reproduce or imply complex social symbols. The definition of sports being transformed in combination with ideology, which has become a central issue in each era, has become more diverse in recent years. Recently, with the 4th Industrial Revolution leading the social phenomenon, sports culture is producing a new phenomenon. In this era, we need the study in the question of how to understand and interpret sports culture is the right approach. The struggle for survival in each discipline was expressed as a reinterpretation of sports culture. This is to answer questions about how sports culture is consumed, spread and reinterpreted. The purpose of this study is to find out the direction and directing point of sports culture. Based on such problem recognition, five types of answers to what sports culture consumes were presented. Based on this, the fairness related to school sports, sports society-club(sports clubs), sports events, sports media, and sports was suggested as a medium for the spread of sports culture. We are accepting and transforming numerous scientific civilizations to improve sports culture and to promote consumers. However, there is a pity not to define such a thing. Efforts at a more fundamental level, such as cultural regulation and fundamental directions, need to be discussed. The framework of reinterpretation of sports culture should be constantly looking for directions and answers about what to do, not just the level of interpretation.
Effects of methionine on cephalosporin C(CPC) production in a fluidized-bed bioreactor were investigated using bioparticles of Cephalosporium acremonium. Since methionine was found to be an important metabolic regulator on the synthesis of cephalosporin C, the effects of its concentration in the cuture broth and feeding mode to the bioreactor were studied. It was observed that the presence of initial methionine was essential for higher cephalosporin C production and there existed an optimal content of methionine. Carbon consumption rate also increased significantly under the presence of methionine. Production of cephalosporin C was most active when methionine was exhausted in the broth; however its additional feeding did not enhance the antibiotic production in the fluidized-bed bioreactor as much as expected. It was therfore considered important to feed an optimal content of methionine at the early operating stage for a higher cephalosporin C production in a fluidized-bed bioreactor. An interesting thing to note was that titre of the antibiotic with reused bioparticles was about 2 times higher in the methionine containing medium than that without methionine. Therefore repeated use of bioparticles, with an optimal content of methionine, was believed to be very useful to enhance to process productivity.
Soybean is useful source of protein, especially in Asia. But soybean needs heat inactivation or fermentation process before consumption, since it contains the toxic lectin and various protease inhibitors. Therefore, production of soybean boiling-waste liquor (SBWL) as a byproduct is inevitable. In this study, the chemical composition of SBWL and the optimization of culture conditions for Bacillus pumilus JB-1, a selected strain for functional chungkuk-jang fermentation, using SBWL were investigated. The SBWL contains 88% water, 9.5% free sugar, 1.6% crude protein, 0.3% crude fat, 0.1% crude fiber and 2.1% ash, respectively. The contents of total polyphenol, total flavonoids and free amino acid in SBWL were 55%, 76%, and 30% of those of raw soybean, respectively. Culture conditions for B. pumilus JB-1 in SBWL were optimized. The 1/10-diluted, 0.1 % of $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ added SBWL without pH adjustment and carbon source addition was cultured at $37^{\circ}C$ for 48 h with agitation (120 rpm). The 0.5% of inoculation was enough. The large scale fermentation in 5-L jar fermentor showed that the SBWL is a good resource for production of chungkuk-jang starter and functional ingredients.
The objectives of this study are to identify the environmental consumer behavior, to examine the degree of environmental consumer behavior of the junior high school students, and to investigate the educational system of a school which influence the consumer behavior. The data used in this study are 368 male and female students in 9th grade in Anyang City, Kyunggi-do province. Statistics used for data analysis are means, standard deviation, t-test, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the research are summarized as follows : First of all, as a tendency of the environmental consumer behavior of junior high students, the primary factor to the environmental problems was media, and among those, TV and radio was the medium to environmental problems. This implies the fact that the time juveniles interact with mass media is significantly growing, which means that transmitting environmental problems by programs targeted to adolescences through mass media would be effective. Next, the disposal process showed the highest environmental consumer behavior, followed by the consuming and purchasing process. Education on the purchasing process will be necessary to encourage environmental consumer behavior. The route of obtaining environmental knowledge was basically from school and the level of the average environmental knowledge fumed out to be low. This shows the need to produce and distribute media education materials because educating the conclusion of actual experiments will be more effective than that of theoretical studies. The conformity showed general indifference on environmental consumer behavior and the environmental resources were normally collected seperated. Conformity is a cultural bond teenagers think important, therefore education available for students about the same age should be developed. Next, the value intention of the surveyed showed that the ecological intention was highest, followed by economic and convenience intentions. This means the morale of the junior high students to environmental consumer behavior is set sound. Females tended to act more environmentally, while males showed more intention to economic causes. Also, the students of the boys-only or girls-only schools showed higher environmentally sound behavior in disposal processes. Finally, the environmental consumer behavior was influenced most by environmental consumer behavior of the conformity group, followed by ecological morale, frequency of encountering environmental problems, gender, environmental knowledge, whether the school was boys-only or girls-only or not, economical morale, respectively. The largest factor affecting the consumer activity of the purchase, consumption, and disposal process was environmental consumer behavior of the conformity group, along with the ecological morale, and the frequency of encountering environmental problems. This implies that conformity group is a large factor to the juveniles and a plan to entice the environmental consumer behavior of conformity groups are necessary.
Coffee consumption in Korea has been currently growing every year, and as a result, approximately 0.2 million tons of Spent Coffee Grounds (SCG) are being created every year. SCG, which is waste organic material, is often classified as food waste and an annual amount of 0.27 million ton is discarded while containing moisture and provoking serious environmental issue. Physico-chemical characteristics of SCG were analyzed in this study and medium and long-term growth experiments were conducted in order to evaluate its utilization potential. According to the experiment results, mixing SCG into the previous base material resulted in accelerated germination and growth in the mid-term compared to previous base material alone, despite slower germination or growth in early stage. Especially, it showed lower withering rate and decrease in various symptoms that are caused by nutrition shortage in case of discontinued sprinkling, etc., compared to the previous base material. Hence, while SCG has a feature of hindering early development due to its feature of waste organic material that is rich in nitrogen, its benefit for long-term growth coming its moisturizing ability and supply of organic matter was confirmed in the study. On balance, SCG is believed to be a material that can replace or complement the previous base materials.

NAND flash memory has been widely used as a storage medium in mobile devices, PCs, and workstations due to its advantages such as low power consumption, high performance, and random accessability compared to a hard disk drive. However, NAND flash cannot support in-place update so that it is mandatory to erase the entire block before overwriting the corresponding page. In order to overcome this drawback, flash storages need a software support, named Flash Translation Layer. However, as the high performance mass NAND flash memory is getting widely used, the size of mapping tables is increasing more than the limited DRAM size. In this paper, we propose an adaptive mapping information caching algorithm based on page mapping to solve this DRAM space shortage problem. Our algorithm uses a mapping information caching scheme which minimize the flash memory access frequency based on the analysis of several workloads. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can increase the performance by up to 70% comparing with the previous mapping information caching algorithm.
