그림책을 활용한 명상 프로그램이 유아의 공격성 감소에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of Meditation Program Using Picture Books on Reduction of Young Children's Aggression)

  • This study examined the effects of a meditation program using picture books as a method of reducing young children's aggression. Data was taken from a sample of 60 four-to five-year-old children in daycare centers. This study employed a pre/post-test controlgroup design. All children of each daycare center were assigned to an experimental group(meditation program using picture books) or control group(general music meditation program). All variables were measured by the mothers and teachers of the observed children and the collected data were analyzed by independent and paired t-test. The main results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the meditation program using picture books and general music meditation program were all effective in reducing young children's aggression (aggression against things, aggression against others, verbal aggressin and total aggression) perceived by their teachers, that is, aggression against things, aggression against others and verbal aggression. Secondly, the meditation program using picture books was more effective than general music meditation program in reducing young children's aggression perceived by teachers. Thirdly, the meditation program using picture books was effective in reducing only young children's verbal aggression perceived by their mothers.

Gestalt Group Meditation Therapy Effect on Occupational Stress and Anxiety in Working Women

  • The purpose of this research was to measure the effect of a gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program on occupational stress and anxiety in working women aged 30 to 49 in Korea. Scientific methods were employed to test a gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program as treatment for working women in 30-40s to reduce their level of occupational stress and anxiety. The study involved 18 volunteer subjects ages of 30 to 49 years, randomly divided into two groups: (1) gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program, and (2) no program. Both groups completed a pre-test and a post-test of occupational stress scale and trait anxiety inventory. The outcome data was analyzed as qual1litative information using the SPSSPC+ computer program. Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the result in order to verify the sameness between experienced group and controlled group of pre-test scores within the groups. Also U-test comparisons were used to analyze the treatment effects. The results of this investigation indicated that (1) occupational stress scores decrease after gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program on the treatment group, and (2) trait-anxiety scores decrease after gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program on the treatment group. In summary, the gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program for career women, aged 30 to 49, in Korea could reduce the subjects' occupational stress and anxiety.

  • Objectives: Emotional support and a stress management program should be simultaneously provided to clients as effective preventive services for healthy behavioral change. This study was conducted to review various relaxation and meditation intervention methods and their applicability for a preventive service program. Methods and results: The author of this paper tried to find various relaxation and meditation programs through a literature review and program searching and to introduce them. The 'Relaxation Response' and 'Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)' are the most the widely used meditative programs in mainstream medical systems. Abdominal breathing, Progressive Musclular Relaxation (PMR), Relaxative Imagery, Autogenic Training (AT) and Biofeedback are other well-known techniques for relaxation and stress management. I have developed and implemented some programs using these methods. Relaxation and meditation classes for cancer patients and a meditation based stress coping workshop are examples of this program. Conclusions: Relaxation and meditation seem to be good and effective methods for primary, secondary and tertiary preventive service programs. Program development and standardization and further study are needed for more and wider use of the mindbody approach in the preventive service area of medicine.

명상프로그램이 노인의 스트레스반응 감소에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Meditation Program on Stress Response Reduction of the Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 노인 스트레스 감소를 위한 명상 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하였다. 명상 프로그램은 한국형 마음챙김 명상 프로그램과 크리야 요가로 구성하였다. 프로그램은 노인집단에서 명상집단과 통제집단을 대상으로 스트레스 반응성, 우울, 불안, 삶의 질을 종속변인으로 하여 사전-사후검사를 통해 효과 검증을 하였다. 연구결과 노인 스트레스 감소를 위한 명상 프로그램이 명상집단에서 노인의 불안, 우울, 스트레스 반응성이 사전-사후검사에서 유의한 감소를 보였고, 사후검사 결과 집단비교에서도 통제 집단과 유의한 차이를 보였다. 또한 명상집단은 삶의 질의 사전-사후검사에서 유의한 증가를 보였고, 사후검사 결과 통제 집단과 유의한 차이를 보였다. 따라서 노인 스트레스 감소를 위한 명상 프로그램이 노인의 불안, 우울, 스트레스 반응성을 낮추고, 삶의 질을 개선시키는 연구 결과가 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 추후연구를 위하여 논의하였다.

정신건강의학과 외래에서 시행한 마음챙김 명상 프로그램이 우울 및 불안장애 환자들의 긍정자원과 긍정정서에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Mindfulness Meditation on Positive Resources and Positive Affects in Outpatients with Depressive Disorder and Anxiety Disorder)

  • Objectives : Mindfulness meditation has recently become a major component in mainstream modern cognitive behavioral therapy. The purpose of this study was to examine effects of a mindfulness meditation program on positive resources of outpatients with depressive disorder and anxiety disorder. Methods : Participants were 55 psychiatric clinic outpatients. Participants received eight weekly sessions in a mindfulness meditation training program, that was approximately 90 minutes each. Measures included the Positive Resources Test (POREST), Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-16 (AAQ-16), Life Satisfaction Expectancy Scales (LSES), and Subjective Happiness Scale (SHS). Variables were measured at two time points : pre- and post-implementation (eight weeks later). Results : Paired t-test results of participants before and after the mindfulness meditation program revealed statistically significant improvement in positive resources (t=-5.847, p<.001), acceptance (t=-4.090, p<.001), life satisfaction expectancy (t=-3.892, p<.001), but not in subjective happiness. Conclusion : Results suggest mindfulness meditation may be effective to enhance positive resources, acceptance, and life satisfaction in outpatients with depressive disorder and anxiety disorder. Mindfulness meditation may be a factor in improving psychological well-being and positive psychological features in outpatients with depressive disorder and anxiety disorder.

마음챙김명상 프로그램이 시설 여성노인의 수면, 우울 및 삶의 질에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Mindfulness Meditation Program on Sleep, Depression and Quality of Life in the Institutionalized Elderly Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the Mindfulness Meditation program on sleep, depression and quality of life in the institutionalized elderly women. The study was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The data was collected from March 7 to April 25 of 2014. Participants in the study were 56 elderly women, 30 institutionalized elderly for the experimental group and 26 institutionalized elderly for the control group. The experimental group received the Mindfulness Meditation program for 90 minutes/session/week for 8 weeks. Data were analyzed using x2-test and t-test for subject homogeneity verification, and paired t-test to examine the hypotheses. Mindfulness Meditation program experimental group showed significant differences in sleep score(t=-4.406, p=<.001), quality of life score(t=-8.799, p=<.001). However no significant differences were found between 2 groups for the scores on depression. According to the results the Mindfulness Meditation program was useful for improving on sleep and quality of life in the institutionalized elderly women.

마음수련 명상 프로그램이 지역사회 암 생존자의 삶의 질, 삶의 만족, 삶의 기대에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Community-Based Mind Subtraction Meditation Program on Quality of Life, Life Satisfaction, and Expectancy of Satisfactory Life in Cancer Survivors)

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to develop a community-based Mind Subtraction meditation program for cancer survivors and examine the effectiveness of the developed program on quality of life, life satisfaction, and expectancy of satisfactory life in cancer survivors. Methods: This study used a one group, pretest-posttest design. A 5-week community-based meditation program for cancer survivors was offered twice a week with each session up to 2 hours. 10 cancer survivors who had completed cancer treatments participated in this study. Data were collected using self-reported questionnaires and personal journals about the meditation experience from September 10 to December 11, 2015 at a health center branch in Seoul, South Korea. Results: There were statistically significant differences in physical domain of quality of life (QOL) expectancy of satisfactory life. Conclusion: This study shows that the community-based Mind Subtraction meditation program for cancer survivors can be considered as an effective nursing intervention to improve quality of life and expectancy of satisfactory life among cancer survivors in a community setting.

마음챙김 명상프로그램이 간호대학생의 스트레스 지각, 우울 및 자아효능감에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Mindfulness Meditation Programs on Nursing College Students' Perceived Stress, Depression, and Self-efficacy)

  • Purpose: Due to the academic demands from a theory and practice-based educational program, nursing students often experience psychological burdens. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mindfulness meditation programs on nursing students' perceived stress, depression, and self-efficacy. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. Participants were recruited from two nursing colleges. The sample consisted of an intervention group (n=29) that participated in a mindfulness meditation program and a control group (n=30). The experimental group participated in the program for 120 minutes a week for a total of 8 sessions. The data were collected prior and after the intervention using self-administered questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, $X^2$-test, Fisher's exact probability test, and the t-test. Results: After the application of the mindfulness meditation program, the experimental group showed a significant difference in perceived stress(t=-10.33, p<.001), depression (t=-2.17, p=.035), and self-efficacy (t=2.57, p=.013) scores. However, there was no significant differrence in the control group. Conclusion: These findings provide a supportive evidence of mindfulness meditation program as a behavioral intervention to reduce stress, depression and increase self-efficacy among nursing students.

대학생의 마음상처 치유를 위한 색채명상 프로그램 개발연구 (A Study on Color Meditation Programs for Wounded Heart Healing of University Students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생의 마음상처 치유를 위한 색채명상 프로그램에 관한 연구로, 색채명상을 이용하여 대학생들이 경험할 수 있는 부정적 심리적 증상을 완화시키고 삶의 질을 높이고자 하였다. 명상 활동에 익숙하지 않은 참여자에게 최대한 쉽고 거부감 없이 접근할 수 있도록 프로그램을 구성하였으며 또한 일선 학교 현장에서 쉽게 적용할 수 있도록 적절하게 기존의 프로그램들을 수정 보완 재구성하였다는 점이 특징적이라 할 수 있다. 대학생의 마음상처 치유를 위한 색채명상 프로그램 참가동기가 정신건강에 미치는 효과보다 이용하는 색채명상 프로그램에 만족하는 정도를 의미하는 색채명상 만족을 매개로 하였을 때 정신건강에 더 크게 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과가 시사하는 바는 마음상처 치유를 위한 색채명상에 참가하는 정도로는 정신건강에 영향을 미칠 수 없다는 것으로 색채명상을 충분히 이해하고 만족해야 정신건강에 더 많은 영향을 미치고 있음을 연구결과가 보여주고 있다.

노인대상 명상프로그램 효과성 메타분석 (The Meta-analysis of the Effects of Meditation Programs of the Elderly)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 노인대상 명상프로그램에 대한 선행연구들의 결과를 메타분석을 이용하여 효과크기를 검증함으로써 명상프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제시하는데 있다. 노인대상 명상프로그램의 유형, 중재변인군 및 활동요소들에 대한 효과크기를 분석하기 위하여 2003년부터 2017년 4월까지 보고된 논문 24편을 선별하고 메타분석을 사용하여 효과크기를 요약한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전체평균 효과크기는 .914로써 큰 효과크기가 나타났고, 프로그램 유형 중에는 복합명상이 1.726으로 가장 큰 효과크기를 보였다. 중재변인군 중에는 긍정심리적변인군이 1.368로 가장 높았고, 성별은 여성으로만 구성된 집단이 .921로 크게 나타났다. 둘째, 활동요소 중에서는 총회기수는 12~20회(1.193), 주회기수는 2회(1.254), 회기 당 활동시간은 110~120분(1.581), 집단크기는 71~100명(1.535)이 효과크기가 크게 나타났다. 출판유형은 학술지 논문(1.062)이 학위 논문(0.817)보다 비교적 높게 나타났다. 향후 노인대상 명상프로그램 구성 시 프로그램 유형은 복합명상, 총회기수 12~20회, 주회기수 2회, 활동시간은 110~120분을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구는 고령사회로 진입한 시점에서 노인을 대상으로 수행된 명상프로그램에 대한 프로그램 유형, 중재변인군 및 활동요소들에 따른 효과성을 확인함으로써 향후 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하였다는데 의의가 있을 것이다.
