FTA기법을 이용한 콤프레서 고장진단 (Diagnosis of Compressor Failure by Fault Tree Analysis)

  • The application of fault tree technique to the analysis of compressor failure is considered. The techniques involve the decomposition of the system into a form of fault tree where certain basic events lead to a specified top event which signifies the total failure of the system. In this paper, fault trees are made by using fault train of screw type air compressor failure. The fault trees are used to obtain minimal cut sets from the modes of system failure and, hence the system failure rate for the top event can be calculated. The method of constructing fault trees and the subsequent estimation of reliability of the system is illustrated through compressor failure. It is proved that FTA is efficient to investigate the compressor failure modes and diagnose system.

Interrupting characteristics of the transformer superconducting fault current limiter

  • This paper analyzed the fault current limiting characteristics of the previously proposed transformer superconducting fault current limiter (TSFCL) interruption system according to its transformer type. The TSFCL interruption system is an interruption technology that combines a TSFCL, which uses a transformer and a superconductor, and a mechanical DC circuit breaker. This technology first limits the fault current using the inductance of the transformer winding and the quench characteristics of the superconductor. The limited fault current is then interrupted by a mechanical DC circuit breaker. The magnitude of the limited fault current can be controlled by the quench resistance of the superconductor in the TSFCL and the turns ratio of the transformer. When the fault current is controlled using a superconductor, additional costs are incurred due to the cooling vessel and the length of the superconductor. When the fault current is controlled using step-up and step-down transformers, however, it is possible to control the fault current more economically than using the superconductor. The TSFCL interruption system was designed using PSCAD/EMTDC-based analysis software, and the fault current limiting characteristics according to the type of the transformer were analyzed. The turns ratios of the step-up and step-down transformers were set to 1:2 and 2:1. The results were compared with those of a transformer with a 1:1 turns ratio.

  • 본 논문에서는 중대형 위성용 '제어모멘트자이로'의 고속회전체인 모멘텀 휠의 고장 분석에 대해 기술하였다. 고장 분석을 위해 변조된 신호에서 주기적으로 발생되는 충격신호를 찾기 위해 힐베르트 변환 기법과 신호 복조 기법을 사용한 포락선 스펙트럼 분석을 하였다. 이를 통해 높은 신호의 크기를 가지는 특정 주파수 밴드에서 회전주파수의 조화 성분과 베어링 결함 주파수가 있는지 분석하여 모멘텀 휠의 고장을 진단하였다.

  • 유성 기어박스의 진동기반 고장진단 기법은 조립 및 제작공차와 하중조건에 의해 결정되는 진동 변조특성에 따라 성능을 달리하는 특성을 갖는다. 이 논문에서는 풍력발전기에 장착되어 있는 유성 기어박스의 고장을 효과적으로 진단하기 위해 진동 변조특성을 고려한 고장진단기법을 제안하고자 한다. 리샘플링된 진동신호에 대한 대역 필터링을 사용함으로써 유성기어박스의 진동 변조특성을 규명하고자 하였으며, 진동추출 윈도우함수의 최적위치를 선정하여 활용함으로써 가변적 진동 변조현상에서도 강건한 고장진단을 수행할 수 있도록 하였다. 제안된 고장진단기법의 검증을 위해 2kW 급 풍력발전기 테스트베드가 설계되었으며 기어 치 부분파손이 모사 제작되어 기어박스에 장착되었다.

비선형회귀모델을 이용한 히트펌프시스템의 열교환기 고장에 대한 고장감지 및 진단에 대한 연구 (Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) Using Nonlinear Regression Models for Heat Exchanger Faults in Heat Pump System)

  • 본 연구에서는 비선형회귀모델을 이용한 히트펌프시스템에서의 고장감지 및 진단 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 히트펌프시스템에 발생할 수 있는 다양한 고장요소 중, 열교환기 고장에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 해석 식을 바탕으로 제작한 모델을 이용하여 총 4가지 작동 모드(무고장, 증발기 고장, 응축기 고장, 응축기와 증발기 고장)에 대한 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 고장감지 및 진단 알고리즘을 개발하기 위해 무고장모드에서의 데이터를 바탕으로 각 열교환기의 과열도 또는 과냉도를 예측할 수 있는 비선형회귀모델을 제시하였다. 고장감지 및 진단 알고리즘은 이 비선형회귀모델을 바탕으로 예측한 열교환기에서의 과열도 또는 과냉도 값과 시뮬레이션 값을 비교하여 그 차이의 정도에 따라 각 열교환기의 고장을 감지 및 진단하도록 하였다.

  • The fault diagnosis technologies may be applied in order to decrease the energy consumption and the maintenance cost of an air-conditioning system. In this paper, a fault diagnosis algorithm was developed by using a neural no-fault model and a dual fuzzy logic. Five different faults, such as the compressor valve leakage, the liquid line blockage, the condenser fouling, the evaporator fouling, and the refrigerant leakage of an air-conditioning system, were considered. The fault diagnosis algorithm was tested by using a fault simulation facility. Test results showed that the algorithm developed for this study was effective to detect and diagnose various faults. Therefore, this algorithm may be practically used for the fault diagnosis of an air-conditioning system.

The Fire Hazard of Screwed Electric Contacts Due to Mechanical Vibration at Low Voltage Equipment

  • There are many electrical connections in the electric apparatus and most fires due to a fault contact result from a failure or misuse of electric apparatus and installation. The fault contact happens between electrical connections by the loose and the mechanical vibration. In this paper, we have investigated thermal and electrical properties of screwed electric contacts due to the mechanical vibration. The exciter was connected to a signal generator and power amplifier that provided the vibration frequency and amplitude. The vibration, temperature and voltage data were sent to a data acquisition system (DAQ). In the case that fault contact took place, the arc happened between the screwed electric contact and electric wire, heat due to the arc was transmitted to the adjacent insulators, for which the oxide could be generated more. In addition, a spark was generated and the insulator began to melt. Thus, the possibility of electrical fire became the highest in this case. Finally, when the fault contact takes place due to vibration, the hazard of an electric accident is very high.

  • In this paper, the development and the test of 13.2kV/630A high-Tc superconducting fault current limiting coil are described. The fault current limiting coil made of Coated Conductor (CC) was fabricated with bifilar winding method for non-inductive characteristics and tested in the distribution power system level in Dec. 2006. In order to determine the length of the superconducting coil, applied voltage per unit length(V/m) was studied analytically and it was verified through experiments. For the volume minimization, the coil was designed with concentrical arrangement method. The short-circuit test was performed with the prospective fault current of asymmetrical 10kA whose maximum fault current was $30kA_{peak}$. In the test, the voltage drop and the current of the coil were measured and the resistance of the coil was obtained. Also, the temperature rise of the coil was calculated with the relationship between the resistance and the temperature of CC. In this paper, the experimental results are analyzed and compared with the simulation.

  • 기계시스템의 결함을 진단하기 위한 방법으로 패턴인식 기법이 널리 사용되고 있다. 진동신호의 변화를 감지하여 기계시스템의 건전성을 판단하는 방법이 패턴인식 기법이다. 대표적 패턴 인식기법으로 최근 은닉 마르코프 모델과 인공신경망이 여러 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 결함진단에 은닉 마르코프 모델과 인공신경망을 혼합한 방법이 제시되었으며 결함진단 대상 구조물로는 크랙을 가진 회전하는 풍력터빈 블레이드가 선정되었다. 본 연구에서는 크랙발생 여부뿐만 아니라 그 위치 및 크기도 동시에 진단하고자 하였다. 아울러서 본 연구에서는 일정 주파수들을 갖는 모멘트를 대상 구조물에 가함으로써 외부 잡음에도 불구하고 높은 결함진단 확률을 가질 수 있도록 하였다.

  • The dynamic characteristics of industrial processes frequently cause an abnormal situation which is undesirable in terms of the productivity and the safety of workers. The goal of fault-tolerance is to continue performing certain activities even after the failure of some system cononents. A fault-tolerant intelligent monitoring and control system which is robust under disturbances is proposed in this paper. Specifically, the fault-tolerant monitoring scheme proposed consists of two process models and the inference module to preserve such a robustness. The results of turning experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the fault-tolerant scheme in the presence of built-up edge.
