생체내 이식된 흡수성 봉합사들의 물리적 성질 변화와 조직 소견에 관한 연구 (The Mechanical Appearances and Microscopic Tissue Reactions of the Suture Materials in vivo)

  • A comparative study of three absorbable suture materials of chromic catgut, Dexon II (a polyglycolic acid suture with a polycaprolate coating system) and Coated Vicryl (a polyglactin 910 suture with a glycolide-lactide-calcium stearate coating system) was undertaken in terms of tensile strength, breaking elongation, appearances of the suture materials in the subcutaneous layer of rats and of tissue reaction in the intramuscular layer of rats. The initial tensile strength of chromic catgut and the tensile strength after 21 days were about 1.55 kg and 0.19 kg, respectively. Those of Dexon II were about 2.01 kg and 0. 20 kg, respectively. Those of Coated Vicryl were about 2.39 kg and 0.48 kg, respectively. Coated Vicryl showed the highest tensile strength among the three materials during the whole period. On the other hand, Dexon II showed the highest breaking elongation among the three materials during the first week. But the breaking elongation of Dexon II rapidly continuously decreased during the whole period. The appearances of the suture materials in the subcutaneous layer of rats showed that chromic catgut was the fastest among the three materials, whereas it formed comparatively much connective tissue. The intramuscular absorption rate and tissue reaction of Dexon II were similar to those of Coated Vicryl. The intramuscular absorption rate of these was fairly late when compared with chromic catgut. And the tissue reaction appearance of these showed the formation of a granuloma with foreign body giant cells, macrothages and epitheloid cells by the 28th day in the experimental period.

흉부X선사진(胸部X線寫眞)에 나타나는 감감현상(減感現象)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on Appearances of Desensitized Phenomenon in Chest Roentgenography)

  • Roentgenographic film has to be handled with greatest care during removal from the packing, loading of the cassettes and loading of the hanger. In the case of prior to or after exposed film is handled with mechanical pressure in darkroom, the most common phenomena are desensitization or sensitization on roentgenographic film. In order to observe these defect occurring on, it, the author studied on change of the densities where the mechanical pressure reached to the roentgenographic film. 1. The optimal minimum and maximum densities in routine chest x-ray film are from 0.25 to 1.47 2. The dependence of the desensitization occurring on film upon the bent degree of film is in the portion to bent degree over $10^{\circ}$ 3. Appearances of the desensitization on film by the curved degree of film is inverse proportion to it's degree below intervals of 3cm. 4. The more unexposed film is bent with nail tip and is pressured with palm, the more desensitization it was appeared upon film size and pressure weight. 5. The most serious area of desensitization produced by many types of mechanical pressure is in the portion of lung apex and outside lung fields. 6. The tendency of desensitization due to mechanical pressure on unexposed film is more serious than sensitization on exposed film in the view of radiologic diagnosis.

  • Metallic glasses are amorphous meta-stable solids and are now being processed in bulk form suitable for structural applications including impact. Bulk metallic glasses have many unique mechanical properties such as high yield strength and fracture toughness, good corrosion and wear resistance that distinguish them from crystalline metals and alloys. However, only a few studies could be found mentioning the dynamic response and damage of metallic glasses under impact or shock loading. In this study, we employed a small explosive detonator for the dynamic indentation on a Zr-based bulk amorphous metal in order to evaluate the damage behavior of bulk amorphous metal under impact loading. These results were compared with those of spherical indentation under quasi-static and impact loading. The interface bonded specimens were adopted to observe the appearances of subsurface damage induced during indentation under different loading conditions.

니트 플레어스커트의 제작 방법에 따른 외관 평가 - 봉제형과 무 봉제형 - (A Study on the Knit Flare Skirts for Making Method through Sensory Test - Cut & Sew and Seamless Making Method -)

  • For this study, 18 kinds of cut and sew or seamless knitted test garment were made. Samples differed from each other by skirt angles($90^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$), gauges(7G, 12G, 15G), and grain directions(bias direction, wale direction, and radial direction). After measuring the mechanical properties of various gauges on the seamless knitting machine, I compared shape of the knitted flare skirt through subjective evaluation on appearances. The data analysis methods used in this study were descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Duncan-test, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The subjective evaluation on appearances of knitted flare skirts showed the following: In case of $90^{\circ}$ skirt, the seamless skirt showed a much higher score in every gauge expect that of the cut and sew 12G, and silhouette of 15G wale direction. In case of the $180^{\circ}$ skirt, the seamless type showed a much higher score in every item over the cut and sew expect the silhouette part of 7G wale direction.

Effect of Earthworm Pretense on Dyeing Properties of Protein Fibers

  • An earthworm protease, Lumbricus rubellus, was used to improve the dyeing properties of protein fibers such as wool and silk. The optimal condition for the activity of the earthworm pretense was about $40^{\circ}C$ at pH 7. The wool and silk were treated with the protease extracted from an earthworm and the K/S values of the dyed wool and silk were measured using a spectrophotometer in order to compare the dye uptake. The pretense treatment enhanced the dyeing properties of protein fibers without severe changes in mechanical properties. The surface appearances of pretense-treated fibers were observed by microscopy analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는, 원통형셀의 직렬조합에 의한 직렬배터리팩 구성(16S1P) 시, 배터리팩의 외형(정사면체;$4{\times}4$/직사면체;$2{\times}8$)차이에 의한 내부 열분포의 기초해석을 Comsol 프로그램을 통해 실시하였다. 동일한 전류프로파일을 적용하였을 때, 각 배터리팩 내부의 셀 간 열분포 및 외형의 차이에 의한 두 배터리팩의 열분포 비교 분석을 실시하였다. 기초해석 논문이므로, 실제 산업계에서 사용되는 원통형셀의 실험조건 대신에 Comsol 프로그램에서 제공하는 18650 타입의 원통형셀의 음극(anode)와 양극(cathode)의 시뮬레이션 조건을 적용하였다.

TMCP강의 습식수중 아크 용접성에 관한 고찰 (A study on the weldability of TMCP steel plates in underwater wet arc welding)

  • The feasibility of underwater wet arc welding process is experimentally investigated by using high titanium oxide type electrodes and TMCP steel plates as base metal. It is assertained the tis process may be put to practical use. Main results are summarized as follows; (1) Sound underwater weld can be obtained by skilled welding operator, if proper welding conditions are selected. (2) In underwater wet arc welding process, the mechanical properties of HAZ are depend upon welding condition and the optimum welding condition can obtained. (3) The maximum hardness in the HAZ of TMCP steel plates is increased significantly in this welding process.

Effect of Pineapple Protease on the Characteristics of Protein Fibers

  • A pineapple protease, bromelain, was used to improve the dyeing properties of protein fibers such as wool and silk. The optimal condition for the activity of the pineapple protease was about $60^{\circ}C$ at pH 7. The wool and silk were treated with the protease extracted from a pineapple and the K/S values of the dyed wool and silk were measured using a spectrophotometer in order to compare the dye uptake. The protease treatment enhanced the dyeing properties of protein fibers without severe changes in mechanical properties. The surface appearances of protease-treated fibers were observed by microscopy.

  • Three-dimensional(3D) virtual clothing simulation system may require the use of physical, mechanical, and configurational data in order to mimic the actual clothing with high degree of realism. Therefore the 3-dimensional scanning system based on optical methods was adopted to extract the 3-dimensional data of the fabric surface. In this study, the appearances of the 3-dimensionally transformed textile fabrics via several finishing procedures were investigated using a 3D scanning system. The wool gauze fabrics treated with the shrink-proof finishing and the felting process showed height changes up to 4.5mm. The 3-dimensional configuration may be objectively described by the use of mesh generation from the scanned output. The generated mesh information may further be utilized in the 3D virtual clothing simulation system for accurate description of the fashionable textile materials used in the simulation system.

부분적 예혼합화염제어에 의한 연소 라디칼 및 NOx 배출물 특성 (Combustion Radicals and NOx Emissions Characteristics by Control of Partially Premixed Flames)

  • This paper presents an investigation on $C_2$, CH, OH radicals and NOx emissions in partially premixed flames with acoustic excitation. The radicals are visualized by the digital image technique with optical filters and ICCD camera while NOx emissions are determined by a chemiluminescent detection(NOx analyser). The measurements are made in flames with an overall equivalence ratio (${\phi}_o$) 0.5 and a center tube equivalence ratio(${\phi}_c$) varing from 1.1 to 5.0 for a constant fuel flow rate. In the case of excitation, the visual shape of the flame is changed from laminar to turbulent-like flames. Images of $C_2$, CH, and OH radicals resemble those of the flame appearances as the excitation phase is varied, and the radicals generated at the upstream are convected toward the downstream. It is inferred that the flame characteristics is affected by the flow characteristics of air-fuel mixture. In the case of acoustic excitation, OH radicals are much increased relative to unexcitation. From the radicals and flame visualization under acoustic excitation, the reduction of flame length affects the shorter residence time of center tube mixture, and significantly influences the NOx reduction.
