  • To maintain the reasonable temperature in the engine is very important to keep the steady combustion state of engine and to prevent increasing of lubricant consump- tion, deteriorating of lubricant, shortening of the life time of engine and decreasing of material strength. The method of energy balance for devided elements of radiator is considered to analyse the performance of radiator. Th data of engine test and vehicle cooling tunnel test are applied to program for calculation of radiator outlet temperature, and this result is compared with outlet temperature of vehicle cooling tunnel test. As a result, the radiator outlet temperature by numerical analysis agrees well with that by experiment. It is concluded that this simulation program is available in developing the cooling system for a new car.

  • New polymeric hydrogels based on vinyl ethers have been synthesized by the ${\gamma}$-initiated polymerization method. Their physical chemistry and physical mechanical properities have been studied. It has been shown that structure and swelling behavior of the hydrogels can be regulated by the changing of synthesis conditions nature of monomers. Novel stimuli-sensitive polymers have been synthesized by the varying of macrochains hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance. The some biomedical aspects of application of hydrogels in capacity of drain aging polymeric materials in ophthalmology surgery, implants in plastic surgery as well as drug delivery systems have been investigated.

  • The displacement current measuring system used for detecting the dynamic behavior of monolayers at the air-water interface is described. It basically consists of a film balance, a pair of electrodes connected to each other through a sensitive ammeter. Here, one electrode is suspended in air and the other electrode is the water, With Maxwll-displacement-current-measuring method, the phase transitions of Poly(λ-benzyl- L-glutamate)(PBLG) on a water surface were detected, Displacement currents generated during the compression of monolayers of PBLG on the surface of water were investigated. As results, the displacement pick was generated when the area per molecule was about 15 $\AA$$^{2}$ in low pressure, and tit was generarted when the area per molecule about 27$\AA$$^{2}$ in high pressure.

  • The $ Sm_2Fe_{17}N_x $materials were prepared by the combination consisting of the HDDR (hydrogenation, disproportionation, desorption, and recombination) process and nitrogenation or by the conventional way consisting of nitrogenation only, and the magnetic and thermomagnetic properties of the materials were investigated. The magnetic characterisation of the prepared $ Sm_2Fe_{17}N_x $ materials was performed using a VSM. Thermal stability of the materials was evaluated using a DTA under Ar gas atmosphere. The thermomagnetic characteristics of the materials were examined using a Sucksmith-type balance. The previously HDDR-treated Sm2Fe17parent alloy was found to be nitrogenated more easily compared to the ordinary $ Sm_2Fe_{17}N_x $alloy. The $ Sm_2Fe_{17}N_x $ material produced by the combination method showed a high coercivity (12.9 kOe) even in the state of coarse particle size (around 60 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$). It was also revealed that the $ Sm_2Fe_{17}N_x $ material produced by the material produced by the combination showed an unusual TMA tracing featured with a low and constant magnetisation at lower temperature range and a peak just before the Curie temperature. This thermomagnetic characteristic was interpreted in terms of the competition between two counteracting effects; the decrease in magnetisation due to the thermal agitation at an elevated temperature and the increase in magnetisation resulting from the rotation of magnetisation of the fine grains comparable to a critical single domain size due to the decreased magnetocrystalline anisotropy at an elevated temperature.

  • Nuclear power plants are urged to reduce operating and maintaining costs to remain competitive as well as to increase the safety preventing the radioactive material to the atmosphere. To reduce the cost and to increase the safety, the inspection of balance-of-plant heat exchanger becomes important. However, there are some problems for plugging the heat exchanger tubes since the criterion and its basis are not clearly described. The codes and standards related to show the tube plugging criteria may not exist currently. In this paper, a method to establish the tube plugging criteria of BOP heat exchangers is introduced and the tube plugging criteria for the non-regenerative heat exchanger in the steam generator blow-down system of nuclear power plant. This method relies on the similar method used to establish the plugging criteria for the steam generator tubes.

  • The Complex Harmonic Balance Finite Element Method CHBFEM ) is dicussed for the time - periodic magnetic field with saturation characteristics. And Jw - method which is used for analyzing liner system with sinusoidal voltage input can be generalized in nonlinear time-periodic magnetio field system. The CHBFEM enables us to calculate the each harmonic magnetic flux ditribution and the distortion of currents resulting from material at an AC voltage source and to save calculating time, the number of calculation and computer memory.

  • A mass balance method for purity assessment of thermolabile organic reference materials was established by combining several techniques, including liquid chromatography with UV/VIS detector (LC-UV), Karl-Fischer (K-F) Coulometry, and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). This method was applied to three fluoroquinolones like enrofloxacin, norfloxacin and ciprofloxacin. LC-UV was used to analyze structurally related organic impurities based on UV/VIS absorbance spectra obtained in combination with LC separation. For all three organic reference materials, the UV/VIS spectra of the separated impurities were similar to that of the major component of the corresponding materials. This indicates that the impurities are structurally related to the respective reference material sharing common chromophores. Impurities could be quantified by comparing their absorbances at the wavelength of maximum absorbance (${\lambda}_{max}$). The water contents of the reference materials were measured by K-F Coulometry by an oven-drying method. The total inorganic impurities contents were assayed from ash residues in TGA analysis with using air as a reagent gas. The final purities estimated from results of those analytical techniques were assigned as ($99.91{\pm}0.06$), ($97.09{\pm}0.17$) and ($91.85{\pm}0.17$)% (kg/kg) for enrofloxacin, norfloxacin and ciprofloxacin, respectively. The assigned final purities would be applied to the reference materials which will be used as calibrators for the certification of those compounds in matrix CRMs as starting points for the traceability of their certified values to SI units.

  • The aim of this dissertation is inferring factors controlling the complex strain behavior of the material and the characteristics of the Fine-Blanking in the most narrow area at the shear zone where we are performing the Fine-Blanking. And also this is for inspecting and presenting their uses and the possibilities to make the results data based in order to utilize easily. Therefore, to analyze of shere zone's strain behaviour, the Fine-Blanking process need to be modelled defining the quadratic-nodded and axi-symmetrical elements as the problems of large deformation axi-symmetry and the non-linear contact. For the method of inputting strain-stress values of the material, the piece-wise linear technics were used, the Implicit-Finite Element method also used making balance of forces on each step by the long intervals, calculates and converges many times was done. The materials used for the analysis was the Steel SNCM220 5.5mm respectively. As the result of FEM analysis, we know that shear stress value in the beginning of punch penetration is distributed widely and done high both in the center of the late-thickness and on the both sides centering around shear strain zone as the punch penetration is increasing. • The proposed method, capable of predicting various stress-strain responses in axially loaded concrete confined with FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymers) composites in a rational manner, is based on the fact that the volumetric expansion due to progressive microcracking in mechanically loaded concrete is an important measure of the extent of damage in the material microstructure. The elastic modulus expressed as a function of area strain and concrete porosity, the energy-balance equation relating the dilating concrete to the confining device interactively, the varying confining pressure, and an incremental calculation algorithm are included in the solution procedure. This procedure enables the evaluation of lateral strains consecutively according to the related mechanical model and the energy-balance equation, rather than using an empirically derived equation for Poisson's ratio or dilation rate as in other analytical methods.

  • In this paper, a new three-dimensional nodal diffusion code which is based on the AFEN methodology is described and tested. The method expands the homogeneous flux within a node in ter-ms of eighteen analytic basis functions satisfying the diffusion equation at any point of the node. And the nodal coupling equations are derived such that nodal balance, current continuity and leakage balance within an infinitesimally small box around the edge are satisfied. To verify its accuracy, the code was applied to the well-known static LMW benchmark problem and a small core benchmark problem that has the same material properties as the three-dimensional IAEA benchmark problem and compared with two other codes (QUANDRY, VENTURE). The results show that the code provides good accuracy both in the power distribution and in the effective multiplication factor.
