  • Private Matching is a problem of computing the intersection of private datasets of two parties. One could envision the usage of private matching for Insurance fraud detection system, Do-not-fly list, medical databases, and many other applications. In 2004, Freedman et at. [1] introduced a probabilistic solution for this problem, and they extended it to malicious adversary model and multi-party computation. In this paper, we propose a new deterministic protocol for private matching with perfect correctness. We apply this technique to adversary models, achieving more reliable and higher speed computation.

  • Existing area-based stereo algorithms rely heavily on rectangular windows for computing correspondence. While the algorithms with the rectangular windows are efficient, they generate relatively large matching errors due to variations of disparity profiles near depth discontinuities and doesnt take into account local deformations of the windows due to projective distortion. In this paper, in order to deal with these problems, a new correlation function with 4 directional line masks, based on robust estimator, is proposed for the selection of potential matching points. These points is selected to consider depth discontinuities and reduce effects on outliers. The proposed matching method finds an arbitrarily-shaped variable window around a pixel in the 3d array which is constructed with the selected matching points. In addition, the method take into account the local deformation of the variable window with a constant disparity, and perform the estimation of sub-pixel disparities. Experiments with various synthetic images show that the proposed technique significantly reduces matching errors both in the vicinity of depth discontinuities and in continuously smooth areas, and also does not be affected drastically due to outlier and noise.

  • In this paper, we present an algorithm for synthesizing intermediate views from a stereoscopic pair of images. Syntheses of intermediate images allows one to realize a more comfortable the 3D display system. The proposed method is based on block matching, which is not ordinarily used. The contour information is used for a block decision. In order to find an equivalent (or corresponding) block, there are two steps: "matching of contour-to-original image" and "matching of contour-to-contour image" methods. "Matching of contour-to-contour image" uses both left and right contour images. This block matching method allows us to find the corresponding block in spite of different block sizes. Experimental results illustrate the performance of the proposed technique and we obtained a high quality image of more than 31 dB PSNR.image of more than 31 dB PSNR.

  • A novel dual-frequency microstrip printed-dipole antenna operating at 5 GHz and 10 GHz is presented. This antenna is designed for wireless and mobile communication. The balance step coplanar strip is used to be a transmission line at the center of dipole with matching impedance at 50 ohm. Using the conductor strip align on the other side of antenna and adjust the width of step coplanar strip line to improved input impedance matching. By modification for matching impedance of dual frequency antenna are not affected to the radiation patterns. The Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) technique is applying to analyze the basic characteristic properties such as $S_{11}$ , input impedance , VSWR and radiation patterns. And these parameters are discussed. The analyze problem space are $51{\times}197{\times}175$ cells and cell dimension are ${\Delta}x=0.3\;mm$ and ${\Delta}y={\Delta}z=0.15\;mm$.

  • Ground processing for geostationary weather satellite such as GOES, MTSAT includes the process called image navigation. Image navigation means the retrieval of satellite navigational parameters from images and requires landmark detection by matching satellite images against landmark chips. For an automated preprocessing, a matching must be performed automatically. However, if match results contain errors, the accuracy of image navigation deteriorates. To overcome this problem, we propose the use of a robust estimation technique, called Random Sample Consensus (RANSAC), to automatically detect mismatches. We tested GOES-9 satellite images with 30 landmark chips. Landmark chips were extracted from the world shoreline database. To them, matching was applied and mismatch results were detected automatically by RANSAC. Results showed that all mismatches were detected correctly by RANSAC with a threshold value of 2.5 pixels.

  • The location template matching(LTM) method is a technique of identifying an impact location on a structure, and requires a certain measure of similarity between two time signals. In general, the correlation coefficient is widely used as the measure of similarity, while the group delay based method is recently proposed to improve the accuracy of the impact localization. Another possible measure is the frequency response assurance criterion(FRAC), though this has not been applied yet. In this paper, these three different measures of similarity are examined comparatively by using experimental data in order to understand the properties of these measures of similarity. The comparative study shows that the correlation coefficient and the FRAC give almost the same information while the group delay based method gives the shape oriented information that is best suitable for the location template matching method.

  • This paper introduces an improved surface matching algorithm that can be used to reconstruct the surface topography of an object that is scanned from multiple overlapping regions by an AFM. The essence of the image matching technique is stitching two neighboring images intentionally overlapped with each other. To enhance the computational efficiency, this paper introduces a pyramid matching algorithm which makes use of reduced images for primary images. The results show that the proposed image pyramid matching algorithm is useful fer enhancing the computational efficiency.

  • In this paper, we present our study about the optimization of the block matching algorithm on a VLIW based DSP. The block matching algorithm is well known for its computational burden in motion picture encoding. As supposed to the previous researches where the optimization is achieved by optimizing SAD, the most heavy routine of the block matching, we optimize the block matching algorithm by applying software pipelining technique to the whole routine of the algorithm. Through experiments, the efficiency of the proposed optimization is verified.

  • This paper introduces a correlation-based surface matching algorithm that can be used to reconstruct the surface topography of an object that is scanned from multiple overlapping regions by an AFM. The image matching technique is applied to two neighboring images intentionally overlapped with each other. To account for the inaccuracy of the coarse stage implemented in AFM, all the six axes including the rotational degrees of freedom are successively matched to maximize the correlation coefficient. The results show that the proposed 6-axes image matching method is useful for expanding the measurement range of AFM.
