Analysis of Stability on Single-leg Standing by Wearing a Head Mounted Display

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of three visual conditions (eyes opened, eyes closed, and wearing of a head mounted display [HMD]) on single-leg standing through kinematics and kinetic analysis. Method: Twelve college students (age: $24.5{\pm}2.6years$, height: $175.0{\pm}6.4cm$, weight: $69.2{\pm}5.1kg$) participated in this study. The study method adopted three-dimensional analysis with six cameras and ground reaction force measurement with one force plate. The analysis variables were coefficient of variation (CV) of the center of body mass, head movement, ground reaction force, and center of pressure, which were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance with repeated measures according to visual conditions. Results: In most cases, the results of this study showed that the CV was significantly higher in the order of HMD wearing, eyes closed, and eyes opened conditions. Conclusion: Our results indicated that body sway was the largest in the HMD wearing condition, and the risk of falling was high owing to the low stability.

  • Circulating fludized bed(CFB) furnace which can use a variety of low-grade fuels because of high heat capacity and good mixing characteristic in its furnace have turned out to be effective system. There is no many research to design CFB boiler in korea. thus, we feel necessity to research design method. So far accurate hydrodynamics and combustion mechanism information in CFB furnace has been lacked. Therefore, design method that derives design parameter is being made. so, this study is aimed to derive design parameters of CFB furnace from heat and mass balance by using existing plant data.

  • TiB2 was simultaneously synthesized and densified with concurrent self-propagating high-temperature synthesis and direct contact-heating by electrcial power input and pressure. Density of TiB2 synthesized by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis and consolidated simultaneously by direct contact-heating and pressure was maximum 80% of the theoretical density (4.52g/㎤). Temperature profile was analyzed by solving heat balance equation with numerical method (FTCS method). The temperature of the sample was sufficiently raised to that temperature sufficient to be densified. It was ascertained that the density of the SHS synthesized TiB2 is exponentially proportinal to the input thermal energy per mass.

  • The non-linear torsional vibrations of the propulsion shafting system with viscous damper are considered. The motion is modeled by non-linear differential equations of second order. the equivalent system is modeled by two mass softening system with Duffing's oscillator. The steady state response of a equivalent system is analyzed for primary resonance only. Harmonic balance method as a non-linear vibration analysis technique is used. Jump phenomena are explained. The primary unstable region obtained by the Mathieu equation is investigated. Both theoretical and measured results of the propulsion shafting system are compared with and evaluated. As a result of comparisons with both data, it was confirmed that Duffing's oscillator can be used as a analysis method in the modeling of the propulsion shafting system attached viscous damper with non-linear stiffness.

매립장 사후관리종료를 위한 유기물 함량비 산정방법 (An Estimation Method of Organic Matter Content Ratio for the Termination of Post-closure Maintenance of a Landfill)

  • This paper examines an assessment method for terminating the post-closure maintenance of a landfill using a simplified landfill gas model. The case study site is the Sudokwon Landfill in Incheon city, which was closed in 2000. The deviations of the results obtained by the regular model and the simplified model were both slightly over 10% from the measured data. Also, the deviation of the simplified model from the regular model has been less than 5% since 2005. Thus, the simplified model could be applied to other landfills that have been closed for at least 5 years. Additionally, the results of the mass balance analysis using the simplified landfill gas model indicated that 39% of the organic carbon was discharged, leading to organic carbon and organic matter content of 7.2 and 17.6%, respectively, in the landfill by the end of 2018.

Analysis on lateral vibration characteristics of the deep-sea mining pipe

  • This paper analyzes the variation law of the pipe lateral vibration characteristics, it was treated as a beam model, and was dispersed into several subunits based on the FEM. The corresponding stiffness and mass matrix of the pipe was deduced by using Hermite interpolation function, and the overall dynamic balance equation was established. The lateral vibration under different pipe lengths, thicknesses and towing speeds are solved by integral method. The results show that the pipe vibration trend decreases first and then increases, and the vibration value at the ore bin is larger than that at the pump set, and the value at the top is the largest, and the least value location can change with the length increase. Increasing length and thickness can reduce lateral vibration value, while increasing speed can increase the value. Neither the thickness nor the towing speed will change the location where the least value occurs. The vibration intensity will increase with the decrease of pipe length and thickness and the increase of towing speed.

Conceptual Design Optimization of Tensairity Girder Using Variable Complexity Modeling Method

  • Tensairity girder is a light weight inflatable fabric structural concept which can be used in road emergency transportation. It uses low pressure air to stabilize compression elements against buckling. With the purpose of obtaining the comprehensive target of minimum deflection and weight under ultimate load, the cross-section and the inner pressure of tensairity girder was optimized in this paper. The Variable Complexity Modeling (VCM) method was used in this paper combining the Kriging approximate method with the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method, which was implemented by ABAQUS. In the Kriging method, the sample points of the surrogate model were outlined by Design of Experiment (DOE) technique based on Optimal Latin Hypercube. The optimization framework was constructed in iSIGHT with a global optimization method, Multi-Island Genetic Algorithm (MIGA), followed by a local optimization method, Sequential Quadratic Program (SQP). The result of the optimization gives a prominent conceptual design of the tensairity girder, which approves the solution architecture of VCM is feasible and efficient. Furthermore, a useful trend of sensitivity between optimization variables and responses was performed to guide future design. It was proved that the inner pressure is the key parameter to balance the maximum Von Mises stress and deflection on tensairity girder, and the parameters of cross section impact the mass of tensairity girder obviously.

액화석유가스 용기의 자연 증발량에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Natural Evaporation Capacity of LPG Container)

  • 체적거래제에 의하여 소규모 공동주택에 가스를 공급하기 위하여 적절한 용기설치수의 결정 및 용기교체시기에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 그러나 지금까지 국내에 축적된 자료가 없을 뿐만 아니라 용기 설치수의 결정과 용기수 및 가스사용 형태에 따라 용기교체시 남아 있는 액화석유가스 양에 대한 이론적 검토가 없었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자연기화능력, 잔량, 용기의 온도, 용기내부 압력 등을 시뮬레이션으로 살펴보았다. 용기표면으로부터 액화석유가스 용기의 총괄 열전달계수의 변화에 따른 자연기화량 변화는 크지 않으며, 실험으로부터 구한 값은 약 $9{\~}13 kcal/m^2{\cdot}hr{\cdot}^{\circ}C$이었다. 그리고 액화석유가스 용기내부의 압력이 압력조정기의 압력조정 하한계에 도달하였을 때 가스방출 유량은 공기로부터 전달되는 열량과 균형을 이루는 일정한 값으로 급격히 감소하였다. LP가스용기의 자연기화능력은 외기온도 및 프로판의 조성에 따라 증가하였고, 연속사용시간에 따라 초기 급격히 감소하여 일정한 값으로 수렴하였다. 한 가구당 용기수는 자동절체기 사용에 의하여 감소시킬 수 있는 것을 알 수 있다.

코리올리 질량유량계를 이용한 액화석유가스(LPG) 정량 측정 방법 연구 (A Study on Liquified Petroleum Gas(LPG) Fuel Quantitative Method using Coriolis Mass Flowmeter)

  • 국내 LPG 미터는 "계량에 관한 법률"에 의거 LPG 정량에 대한 검사가 실시되고 있다. LPG 미터는 "계량에 관한 법률 시행령"에 따라 3년마다 재검정이 실시된다. 검사 시 최대허용오차는 ${\pm}1.0%$ 이내, 사용오차는 ${\pm}1.5%$ 이내이다. 정량 측정 시에는 밀도부액계, 저울, 압력용기를 사용한다. LPG는 온도와 압력에 따라 부피 변화의 정도가 매우 심하다. 현행 정량 측정 방법은 LPG의 부피를 구하기 위해 온도 및 압력, 밀도를 측정해야 하며, 이에 따른 장비들이 필요하다. 반면에 코리올리 질량유량계는 질량유량, 밀도, 온도를 동시에 측정하며, 컴퓨터 프로그램을 사용하여 측정값을 필요한 값으로 변환 및 산출 할 수 있어, 산업현장에서 널리 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 LPG 정량 측정에 대한 기초연구로서, 코리올리 질량유량계를 이용하여 LPG 충전기에서 나온 LPG 부피를 측정했다. 또한, 기존 LPG 충전기 검사방법과의 비교를 통해 코리올리 질량유량계를 이용한 LPG 충전기 검사도 가능하다는 결론을 얻었다.
