The purpose of this research paper is to segment seafood market and find the factor and process that divide the segment market. Cluster analysis and in-depth interview was performed to identify meaningful segment market. The result of the research found three segment market such as seafood integration familiarity group, domestic seafood familiarity group, seafood unfamiliarity group. Seafood integration familiarity group is active consumer that consume both domestic and imported seafood at home. This group have high preference and familiarity about seafood. Seafood familiarity group purchase imported seafood for the reason that imported seafood is cheaper than domestic seafood and have similar quality level. Domestic seafood familiarity group consume mostly domestic seafood and not purchase imported seafood for the reason that imported seafood have low quality and safety. This group have high preference and familiarity about seafood. Seafood unfamiliarity group is low preference group about seafood and seldom eat at home. This study found that the main factor that divide segment market is seafood familiarity that formed by experiencing seafood in youth and seafood familiarity is main factor that determine consumption degree of seafood at home.
This study is to develope positioning strategy of fashion underwear market through the perceptual map which can analyze the psychological positioning of the existing fashion underwear brand. A positive study has been made on 176 women in their teens and twenties who live in the Seoul area through questionaire. The collected data was analyzed with Multidimensional Scaling Method, Conjoint Analysis and Cluster Analysis and so on. The results of analyzing the competitive relationships for attributes and the ideal points are as follows: The consumers groups are divided into three market segments on the basis of the ideal points about fashion underwear attributes. $\ulcorner$calvin Klein$\lrcorner$ evaluated excellent in design and color, brand and function attributes, and also appealed well to the segment market 2. $\ulcorner$calvin Klein$\lrcorner$ has good positioning at the fashion underwear market, and as well as the possibility of growth. $\ulcorner$Body Guard$\lrcorner$ appealed well in segment market 1 which highly valued the material and price attributes and $\ulcorner$Body Guard$\lrcorner$ competes with $\ulcorner$Benetton Undercolor$\lrcorner$ in this market. $\ulcorner$Hunt Innerwear$\lrcorner$ has possibilitiy to be appealed in segment market 3. Finally, it is necessary for each fashion underwear company to analyze and develope the segment market 3. Each company has to develope the brand that can appeal in the segment market 3 in which function was highly valued, and has better to make strategies that develope more functional products like sports underwear, bodysuit and bodywear and so on.
This study aimed to develop Chinese restaurant set menu which was proper to tendency of market segmentation by using conjoint analysis. In order to examine tendency of market segmentation, this study investigated the important factors and effective values of whole market and segment market. First, the study found that whole market and segment market seemed to prefer seafood to meat except Cluster 3 (Gentle demand type). Second, regarding efficiency of attribute level, the study found that crap soup is favored over seafood in both whole market and segment market except Cluster 1 (strong demand type). Third, Cluster 1 (strong demand type) showed a high level of efficiency on menu which is mixed with meat and seafood. In Cluster 2 (middle demand type), there was a high level of efficiency in meat menu. In case of Cluster 3 (gentle demand type), seafood menu showed high level of efficiency. Forth, there was a high level of efficacy in rice and western dessert menu on the result of analysis on whole market and segment market. Therefore, this study suggests that the preference of seafood is more higher than the preference of meat. It means that current customers care their health more than they used to be. According to this study, people who want to develop Chinese restaurant menu should focus on seafood more than meat. What's more, marketers of chinese restaurants have to not only present new awareness and fresh atmosphere but also provide typical composition of set menu for target customers.
The aim of this study is to examine profiles of consumers in Thai seaweed market segments. A total of 321 consumers were surveyed in bangkok, thailand. The multiple regression analysis performed indicates that consumer preference toward seaweed snack is significantly influenced by seaweed consumption frequency. The cluster analysis performed indicates that there are three segments based on consumer purchasing attributes toward seaweed snack : leading type, pursuing type, beginner type. The results show that there are consumer segment with different purchasing attributes level and seaweed preference. in this study Thai seaweed market's biggest consumer is leading type consumer(n=40.8%) that have high level of purchasing attributes toward seaweed snack when compared to other segments. pursuing type segment(n=27.4%) consists of consumers who have low level of purchasing attributes but have high consumption frequency. beginner type segment(n=31.8%) consists of consumers who rarely eat seaweed snack and have high price sensitivity. This study can inform Thai seaweed consumer's behavior and effective segment market strategies and target consumer based on purchasing behavior toward seaweed snack.
The purpose of this study was on the development of jeans via conjoint analysis and marketing strategies for each segmented market. The questionnaire was composed vervel card and defining the proper marketing strategies for each segmented market. The 269 usable data was distributed to the Univ student and carrier women through multi- stage , ;ambling. The statistical results were processed by the SPSS, PC MDS, and MANZANOLA program. The used methods of statistical data were conjoint analysis, KYST, PROFIT, factor analysis, frequency, one-way ANOVA, SNK, and paired t-test. The results of this study can be summaries as follows: 1. In competitor analysis, Korean brands were in low price zone, but foreign in high price and character style zone. 2. There was significant differences Korean brands and foreign brands on evaluating. On the basis of the perceptual maps, most of Korean brands were evaluated as having a good price and most of foreign brands were evaluated as having a good design. 3. The optimal jeans has the well-known brand, the price of less than 30, 000 won, traditional style, and good quality. In four attributes of clothing buying process, brand is most important attribute of jeans. Segment market 1.All the jeans that they have is Korean brand. Income, amount spent per month on clothing, how many having jeans is low market. Self-centered factor is lowest. In the clothing sari ales lifestyle, they considered most conviniance. Segment market 2-They have one foreign brand jeans. Income, amount spent per month on clothing, how many having jeans is low market. Self-centered factor is lowest Segment market 3-They have two foreign brand jeans. Income, amount spent pet month on clothing, how many having jeans is high market. Self-centered factor is high. In the clothing variables lifestyle, they considered brand, continuance, and character. Segment market 4-They have more than three foreign brand. Income amount spent per month on clothing, and how many having jeans is high market. Self-centered factor is high. In the clothing variables lifestyle, they considered most brand, and character.
The optional market segmentation pricing policy for rooms of hotels are investigated under the assumption of a linear demand function, and for four different situations: (1) single price market, (2) optimal segmentation of the unused capacity of a single-price-maeket, (3) optimal segmantation for all rooms, and (4) opimal segmentation for infiltration from higher priced to adjacent lower priced segments. The purpose of tis study is th show that with proper pricing policy, it would be possible to increase profits considerably. Such a profit increase might be achived by market segmentation coupled with product differentiation, where the different market segments are identified, sperated, and in each segment a different price per room is called for. The different prices are determined based on the specific price elasticity typical for each market segment and the relavant costs. The pricing model implied in this study is based on basic economic pricing theory and optimization techniques. While somewhat complex in its mathmatical solution, it can be easily programmed for use by practitioners, avoiding the need to cope with the technical aspects of the solution. In section II-1, the optimal single-market Single-price policy is evaluated. The optimal strategy under the constraint that only the previously unutilized rooms are segmented is analysed in section II-2, while the optimal strategy without this constraint is determined in section II-3. In section II-4, the optimal market-segmentation pricing policy is derived for the case in which market seperation is allowed for all the rooms under the assumption of custtomer infiltration from each market segment to the adjacent lower priced segment Finally, some considerations relating to the practicality of the model as a decision support tool and the requirements for its implementation are discussed in section III.
Objectives : This study is purposed to segment dental service markets with reflecting customer's preference and to suggest some marketing strategies applied to each segmented market. Methods : The customer's data collected from a series of online survey comprise such factors as expertise of dentist, courtesy, clinic size, equipment, price and distance, including some socio-demographics. A conjoint analysis and a clustering analysis with estimated coefficients were performed to find out some dental market segments for three dental service types such as dental caries, esthetic treatments and dental implants. Results : Three or four market segments for each dental service type are derived from the analysis, and subsequently market characteristics for each derived segment are explored. Furthermore, some dental marketing strategies for each segment are suggested for better management. Conclusion : A conventional way of developing dental marketing strategies can be improved, while specific customer's preference are responded.
The purpose of this study was to identify the consumers who use the level of price as the indicator of the product quality. In order to implement the purpose of this study, Jeans market had been segmented by the mixture regression model, and price response function was calibrated for each segment. Based on the types of price response function, segments were allocated into one of two groups; the group using the level of price as the quality indicator or the group not using the level of price as that. Then, characteristics of both groups were compared in terms of product attributes and demographic variables. Data were co]looted from the sample of the 23o undergraduate and graduate students in Seoul. For the data analysis, mixture regression model, conjoint analysis, and t-test were used. As a result, jeans market was divided into 5 segments. Segment 1,2,3 were allocated into the group not using the level of price as the quality indicator while segment 4,5 were done into the other group. Significant differences existed between two groups in product attributes, not in demographic variables. Mixture model and conjoint analysis were proved to be an effective set of tools in market segmentation.
Quality function deployment (QFD) is a useful method in product design and development to maximize customer satisfaction. In the QFD, the technical attributes (TAs) affecting the product performance are identified, and product performance is improved to optimize customer requirements (CRs). For product development, determining the optimal levels of TAs is crucial during QFD optimization. Many optimization methods have been proposed to obtain the optimal levels of TAs in QFD. In these studies, the levels of TAs are assumed to be continuous while they are often taken as discrete in real world application. Another assumption in QFD optimization is that the requirements of the heterogeneous customers can be generalized and hence only one house of quality (HoQ) is used to connect with CRs. However, customers often have various requirements and preferences on a product. Therefore, a product market can be partitioned into several market segments, each of which contains a number of customers with homogeneous preferences. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes an optimization approach to find the optimal set of TAs under multi-segment market. Dynamic Programming (DP) methodology is developed to maximize the overall customer satisfaction for the market considering the weights of importance of different segments. Finally, a case study is provided for illustrating the proposed optimization approach.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to identify the segments of the Home Meal Replacement (HMR) market according to food-related lifestyle of Japanese consumers, and to investigate its demographic characteristics, the HMR purchase status and needs of new HMR product development. Methods: A total of 2,720 domestic consumers living in Japan were surveyed using a self-administered questionnaire and 488 responses were returned. Excluding responses with significant missing data, 467 responses were used for data analysis. Results: As a result of cluster analysis, three consumer segments were identified. The diet-highly concerned segment had the highest food-related lifestyle score, followed by the diet-moderately concerned segment, and the diet-unconcerned segment (p<0.001). A significant difference in demographic characteristics among the three segments was found with respect to the type of residence (p<0.05). There were significant differences in the main place (p<0.01) and average expense (p<0.001) for HMR purchases by food-related lifestyle segments. In the case of new HMR products that need further development, 'low-sodium products' had the highest demand scores in all three segments. In the diet-highly concerned segment, the mean scores of demand for new products were significantly higher than those in the other segments (p<0.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study can be used to develop new products for the Japanese' HMR market. The segments identified in this study should be updated and revised regularly to reflect changes in the characteristics of each food-related lifestyle segment.
