  • In the future ubiquitous network, information will collect data from various sensors in the field. Since the sensor nodes are equipped with small, often irreplaceable, batteries with limited power capacity, it is essential that the network be energy-efficient in order to maximize its lifetime. In this paper, we propose an effective network routing method that can operate with low power as well as the transmission of data and information obtained from sensor networks, and identified the number of sensors with the best connectivity to help with the proper placement of the sensor. These purposes of this research are the development of the sensor middle-ware to integrate the maritime information and the proposal of the routing algorithm for gathering the maritime information of various sensors. In addition, for more secure ship navigation, we proposed a method to construct a sensor network using various electronic equipments that are difficult to access in a ship, and then construct a communication system using NMEA(the national marine electronics association), a ship communication standard, in the future.

  • The forecast of a container traffic has been very important for port plan and development. Generally, statistic methods, such as regression analysis, ARIMA, have been much used for traffic forecasting. Recent research activities in forecasting with artificial neural networks(ANNs) suggest that ANNs can be a promising alternative to the traditional linear methods. In this paper, a hybrid methodology that combines both ARIMA and ANN models is proposed to take advantage of the unique strength of ARIMA and ANN models in linear and nonlinear modeling. The results with port traffic data indicate that effectiveness can differ according to the characteristics of ports.

  • The expense Our country's land logistics system is becoming backlog day by day. The greenhouse gas which it discharges specially from the vehicle causes a ecocide and traffic expense to make. The traffic energy curtailment which the government enforces during that time and environment-friendly green goods policy lost the effect. Therefore, This research propose the car-ferri network which is the most effective logistics system substitutes the land logistics system. This research will contribute improving the north and south logistics network of Pusan and Seoul region and will be able to reduce a various goods expense.

  • As demands for the maritime communications increase, a variety of functions and information are required to exchange via elements of maritime systems, which leads communication traffic increases in maritime frequency bands, especially in VHF (Very High Frequency) band. Thus, effective resource management is crucial to the future maritime communication systems not only to the typical terrestrial communication systems. VHF data exchange system (VDES) enables to utilize more flexible configuration according to the communication condition. This paper focuses on the VDES communication system among VDES terminals such as shore stations, ship stations and aids to navigation (AtoN) to address efficient resource allocation. We propose a resource management method considering a MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technique in VDES, which has been widely used for modern terrestrial wireless networks but not for marine environments by scheduling the essential communication resources. We introduce the general channel model in marine environment and give two metrics, spectral and the energy efficiencies to examine our resource scheduling algorithm. Based on the simulation results and analysis, the proposed method provides a possibility to enhance spectral and energy efficiencies. Additionally, we present a trade-off relationship between spectral and energy efficiencies. Furthermore, we examine the resource efficiencies related to the imperfect channel estimation.

  • It would be very important to localize people at risk as soon as possible in order to minimize the damage. Generally the infrastructure should be deployed additionally for indoor positioning system. In this paper, we proposed an indoor localization system for people at risk using the existing fire alarm networks. The system detects the signal of smart devices of people in danger immediately and let the main alarm controller ring all alarms in vessel and display the position. Thus, the proposed system can make the burden much less to deploy additional network and infrastructure.

  • This survey explores artifacts like steles, metal or stone statues, metal foils, and coins, bearing inscriptions in the Sanskrit language and Siddhamātṛkā (or "Siddham"), Nāgarī, and Proto-Bengali/Gauḍī scripts produced in Java between the 8th and 13th century CE, contextualizing them against the background of the pan-Asian networks of Tantric Buddhism or Mahāyāna Buddhist Tantra and especially its circulation along the maritime "Silk Routes." Discussing the interrelationship between languages, scripts, religions, and politics in Java and relevant regions of the wider Buddhist world, it tries to answer questions concerning foreign or local agency and audience as well as transregional connectivity. In particular, it argues that the quick spread of varieties of Mahāyāna/Mantrayāna Buddhism from the Subcontinent to Java and East Asia during a "first wave" from the 8th to the 9th century appears to have occurred in parallel with the diffusion of Siddhamātṛkā script in those locales, whereas a "second wave" of Tantric Buddhism linking the Indo-Tibetan and East Asian Buddhist world is associated with Nāgarī and Proto-Bengali/Gauḍī script in East Java.

  • Ports play a crucial role in the complex global supply chain. While many researchers have used social network analysis (SNA) to study active networks, there is a lack of SNA cohesion analysis specifically related to logistics and trade. Therefore, this study aims to identify time-series structural changes in all domestic import and export logistics networks, including regions, ports, and airports, by utilizing techniques such as k-core and community analysis. To carry out this analysis, we rely on data from the Korea Customs Service's Import and Export Logistics Statistical Yearbook spanning from 2004 to 2022. The findings from the k-core and community analysis indicate that the cohesion of the domestic import and export logistics network has continuously strengthened over time. Moreover, it reveals that regions, ports, and airports are becoming more cohesive and homogeneous, with Busan Port emerging as the central hub of a large community. These insights are expected to enhance our understanding of global logistics dynamics and contribute to the development of policies and sustainable import and export logistics processes.

  • The maximum lifetime data aggregation problem is to maximize the network lifetime as minimizing the transmission energy of all deployed nodes in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we propose a simulated annealing algorithm to solve efficiently the maximum lifetime data aggregation problem on the basis of meta-heuristic approach in wireless sensor networks. In order to make a search more efficient, we propose a novel neighborhood generating method and a repair function of the proposed algorithm. We compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with other existing algorithms through some experiments in terms of the network lifetime and algorithm computation time. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is efficient for the maximum lifetime data aggregation problem in wireless sensor networks.

  • A clustering problem is one of the organizational problems to improve the network lifetime and scalability in wireless ad-hoc networks. This problem is a difficult combinatorial optimization problem associated with the design and operation of these networks. In this paper, we propose an efficient clustering algorithm to maximize the network lifetime and consider scalability in wireless ad-hoc networks. The clustering problem is known to be NP-hard. We thus solve the problem by using optimization approaches that are able to efficiently obtain high quality solutions within a reasonable time for a large size network. The proposed algorithm selects clusterheads and configures clusters by considering both nodes' power and the clustering cost. We evaluate this performance through some experiments in terms of nodes' transmission energy. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm performs much better than the existing algorithms.
