낙동강 유입 부유폐기물 해상이동경로 추적시험 (Tracking Experimentation of Floating Debris Drained From Nak-Dong River)

  • 홍수시 강에서 유임되는 폐기물은 육상기인 해양폐기물의 상당량을 차지한다. 강에서 해양으로 유입된 폐기물은 침적폐기물과 부유폐기물로 구분되며, 부유폐기물은 바람이나 해수의 유통에 따라 타지역으로 이동 및 확산되는 특성이 있다. 본 시험은 낙동강에서 유입되는 부유폐기물의 이동경로를 조사하기 위하여, DGPS가 장착된 3개의 부위를 제작, 낙동강 하구에서 투척, 매시간 이동경로를 확인하였다. 시험결과 낙동강에서 유출된 부유 폐기물은 다대포 항주위에 집적되거나 부산항을 거쳐 동해안으로 이동하는 것을 확인하였으며, 조류에 의한 영향보다 바람에 의한 취송류와 해류에 의한 영향이 지배적이었다. 본 시험의 결과를 해양연구원 해양시스템안전연구소에서 개발한 부유폐기물 확산모델(MAPCNTR)과 비교한 결과 비교적 잘 일치하였다.

Moving reactor model for the MULTID components of the system thermal-hydraulic analysis code MARS-KS

  • Marine reactor systems experience platform movement, and therefore, the system thermal-hydraulic analysis code needs to reflect the motion effect on the fluid to evaluate reactor safety. A moving reactor model for MARS-KS was developed to simulate the hydrodynamic phenomena in the reactor under motion conditions; however, its applicability does not cover the MULTID component used in multidimensional flow analyses. In this study, a moving reactor model is implemented for the MULTID component to address the importance of multidimensional flow effects under dynamic motion. The concept of the volume connection is generalized to facilitate the handling of the junction of MULTID. Further, the accuracy in calculating the pressure head between volumes is enhanced to precisely evaluate the additional body force. Finally, the Coriolis force is modeled in the momentum equations in an acceleration form. The improvements are verified with conceptual problems; the modified model shows good agreement with the analytical solutions and the computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation results. Moreover, a simplified gravity-driven injection is simulated, and the model is validated against a ship flooding experiment. Throughout the verifications and validations, the model showed that the modification was well implemented to determine the capability of multidimensional flow analysis under ocean conditions.

손상선박의 생존성 평가 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Survivability Assessment System of Damaged Ships)

  • Ship damage due to maritime casualties lead to marine pollution, loss of life and properties. The maritime casualties come from the rough sea and bad weather condition generally. Therefore the large-scaled casualties will be derived from loss of structural strength and stability due to the progressive flooding and enlargement of damage by the effect of wave and wind. The improvement of damage survivability is very important in maritime safety This paper described the damage survivability assessment system which can be evaluate and improve the ship safety in consideration of loading, sea and damage condition. The components of the system and decision criteria for damage stability and structural safety is established. The ship modeler and behavior analysis program in wave is developed. Finally further research work is also discussed.

우도(牛島) 분화구(噴火口)에서의 일윤회(一輪廻) 화산과정(火山過程) (One-cyclic Volcanic Processes at Udo Crater, Korea)

  • Udo Island, some 3 km off the coast of Sungsan Peninsula at the eastern promontory of Cheju Island, occurs in such a regular pattern on the sequences which reprent an excellent example of an eruptive cycle. The island comprises a horseshoe-shaped tuff cone, a nested cinder cone on the crater floor, and a lava delta which extends over northwest from the moat between two cones. The volcanic sequences suggest volcanic processes that start with emergent Surtseyan eruption, progress through Strombolian eruption and end with lava effusion followed by reworking of smooth tephra on the tuff cone. Eruptive environment and hydrology of vent area in the Udo tuff cone are poorly constrained because the stratigraphic units under the tuff cone are unknown. It is thoughl, however, that the tuff cone could be mainly emergent because the present cone deposits show no evidence of marine reworking, and standing body of sea water could play a great role. The emergent volcano is characterized by distinctive steam-explosivity that results primarily from a bulk interaction between rapidly ascending magma and a highly mobile slurry. The sea water gets into the vent by flooding accross or through the top or breach of tephra cone. Udo tuff cone was constructed from Surtseyan eruption which went into with tephra finger jetting activities in the early stage, late interspersed with continuous uprush activities and proceeded to only continuous uprush activities in the last. When the enclosure of the vent by a long-lived tephra barrier would prevent the flooding and thus allow the vent to dry out, the Surtseyan eruption ceased to transmit into Strombolian activities, which constructed a cinder cone on the crater floor of the tuff cone. The Strombolian eruption ceased when magma in the conduit gradually became depleted in gas. In the case of Udo, the last magmatic activity was Hawaiian-type (and/or fountain) which accumulated basalt lava delta. And then the loose tephra of the tuff cone reworked over the moat lava and the northeastern flank.

Sea Prince of V.L.C.C also made a big oil poullution accident owing to Typhoon "Paei" at front sea of Yeu Choun on Jul. 25. 1995. The large or small scall scale of oil poullution accident frequently was occurred about 300-350 cases per ine(1) year. The countries advanced in marine relations like as, nited Kingdom and Japan, have perfect system The country of expert education, training and oil recovery equipments in oil poullution accidents. The large quantity oil skimming ship's basic condition need general skimming ship which was high speed and large quantity skimming ability , and hve to store the recovered oil into tanks This oil skimming shop are composit the skimmer whuch move up and down according to the wace movements, storage tank which storage the recovered oil in after side, transfer pump which transformed from flooding tank to separating tank and separating tank which separated the oil mixtures, Also there are cylindrical floated which keep the auto positing, gate which keep the auto positing, gate which protect and guide the recovering oil from sea and balance weight for skimmer balance. As use the above natural princile and equipment, we can remove the large quantity oil by developed oil skimming ship.ming ship.

제501 오룡호 침몰사고 원인분석을 위한 선박 복원성 계산 (Ship Stability Calculation for Cause Analysis of No. 501 Oryong Sinking Accident)

  • 원양어선 제501 오룡호는 황천 중인 베링해에서 조업 후 피항하던 중 개구부를 통한 침수로 인하여 침몰하였으며 많은 선원들이 사망하고 실종되었다. 본 연구에서는 사고선박 침몰사고의 진행상황 별 유동수 영향과 어획물 배치 등을 고려한 선박복원성 계산을 KST-SHIP (선박안전기술공단 선박계산시스템)을 사용하여 수행하고 사고선박의 침몰사고 시의 침수 후 선박복원성을 분석하였다. 먼저 만재출항상태 (Full Load Departure Condition)에서의 사고선박의 비손상 복원성 계산서와 KST-SHIP을 사용한 비손상 선박복원성 계산 결과를 비교하여 검증하고, 사고선박의 출항 시부터 사고 직전까지의 배수량에 따른 비손상 복원성 계산을 수행하여 비손상 복원성을 분석하였다. 또한 사고선박 침몰사고 시의 진행상황 별 침수 후 선박복원성 계산을 수행하여 침수 후 복원성도 분석하였다.

한국 서해 경기만 연안역에서 수질환경의 시.공간적 변화 특성과 조절 요인 (Temporal-spatial Variations of Water Quality in Gyeonggi Bay, West Coast of Korea, and Their Controlling Factor)

  • Temporal (seasonal) and spatial distributions and variations of various physico-chemical factors (salinity, temperature, pH, DO, COD, SPM, POC, silicate, DIP, DIN) in surface and bottom waters were studied in the coastal environment with typical macro-tidal range and monsoonal weather condition, Gyeonggi Bay, west coast of Korea. Spacial distribution patterns of these factors were generally similar to each other, and appeared to be inversely related to the distribution pattern of salinity, suggesting that water quality of the study area was primarily controlled by the physical mixing process of Han-River freshwater with nearby coastal seawater. During flooding season, silicate- and nitrogen-rich Han River water directly flowed into offshore as far as $20\sim30\;km$ from the river mouth, probably causing serious environmental problems such as eutrophication and unusual and/or noxious algal bloom, etc. Except the surface water during summer flooding season, high concentrations of nutrients appeared generally in dry season, whereas low values in spring, possibly because of the occurrence of spring phytoplankton bloom. On the other hand, nutrient flux through the estuary seems to be primarily depending on river discharge, sewage discharge and agricultural activities, especially during the rainy season. Also, nutrients in this coastal waters are considered to be supplied from the sediments of tidal-flats, which developed extensively around the Han-River mouth, especially during fall and winter of dry and low discharge seasons, possibly due to the stirring of tidal flat sediments with highly enriched pore-water nutrients by storm. And also, COD and DIN concentrations in the study area consistently increased during the last 20 years, probably because of agricultural activities and increasing discharge of industrial and domestic wastes.

건조 공법에 따른 해저 파이프라인 내부 상대습도 변화 특성 연구 (Study on the Change of Relative Humidity in Subsea Pipeline According to Drying Method)

  • 해저 파이프라인 예비커미셔닝(Pre-commissioning) 단계는 입수(Flooding), 배수(Venting), 하이드로테스팅(Hydrotesting), 탈수(Dewatering), 건조(Drying), 질소충진(N2 Purging)의 공정과정으로 구성된다. 이 중 건조와 질소충진 과정은 운용 중 파이프라인 내부에 하이드레이트(Hydrate)의 발생과 가스 폭발의 위험을 방지하기 위해 상대습도를 이슬점 아래로 감소 및 유지되도록 규정되어 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 해저 파이프라인 예비커미셔닝 중, 공기건조(Air Drying)와 질소충진 공정과정에 대한 해석법을 개발하고 현장계측 결과와의 상호 비교를 통해 해석법의 활용가능성을 평가하는 데 있다. 해저 파이프라인 내부 상대습도 평가를 위한 방법으로 전산열유체(CFD)를 활용한 해석기법을 도입·적용하였고 해양공사 해저 파이프라인 공기건조와 질소충진 공정과정에 대한 현장계측 결과와 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. 개발된 공기건조와 질소충진 해석법 및 평가방법을 향후 해저 파이프라인 예비커미셔닝 작업의 사전 엔지니어링 도구로 활용할 경우, 작업생산성 향상에 크게 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

광섬유형 방향성 결합기의 광 분배비를 이용한 수위 센서 연구 (A Study on the Liquid-level Sensors Using Splitting Ratio of Fiber-optic Directional Couplers)

  • 광섬유형 결합기의 끝단면을 이용한 액체-공기 경계면 감지 센서를 제안하고 특성을 시험하였다. 이 센서 시스템의 원리는 광섬유 끝단의 경계면에 접촉하는 물질의 굴절률 변화에 따라 발생하는 추가적인 광 손실을 이용하는 것이다. 각각 다른 광 분배비를 가지는 다섯 가지의 광섬유형 결합기를 이용하여 물과 공기에 접촉하였을 때의 스펙트럼 응답 특성을 측정하고 분석하였다. 이 실험결과는 다중 센서헤드를 가지는 센서 시스템을 개발할 경우 결합기의 광 분배비를 결정하는데 유용하게 사용되어질 것이다. 제안된 센서 구조를 이용하여 다중센서 배열을 위한 결합기 선택에 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다. 또한 다중지역에서 동시에 발생하는 홍수나 침수을 감시하는 모니터링 시스템에 적용될 수 있다.

메조코즘 실험을 통한 진우도 갈대군락의 영양염 물질수지 산정 (Estimation of Nutrient Mass Balance in a Phragmites Australis Community in Jinudo Through a Mesocosm Experiment)

  • 본 연구에서는 갈대군락의 영양염 물질수지 모델 구축을 위한 기초연구로서, 갈대군락 Mesocosm 실험을 통해 수층-갈대(뿌리, 잎, 줄기)-토양의 영양염(DIN, DIP) 농도의 춘계 및 하계 모니터링 결과를 이용하여 물질수지를 산정하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 갈대의 생체량은 춘계에는 지하경이 지상경에 비해 약 6.3~9.7 % 높으며, 하계에는 지상경이 지하경에 비해 약 19.2~21.2 % 높게 나타났으며, 갈대의 성장속도는 Mesocosm Tank A가 Mesocosm Tank D에 비해 지상경과 지하경 모두 2~3배 정도 빠르게 나타났다. 2) Mesocosm Tank에서의 갈대의 영양염(DIN, DIP) 농도는 춘계와 하계 모두 각각 2~3 %로 차이가 적었다. 3) Mesocosm Tank별 생체량의 차이는 최대 23 %로 나타나지만, 갈대가 흡수하는 영양염의 농도는 최대 3 % 정도로 차이가 적었다.
