  • We report the structural characterization of $Bi_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films grown on c-plane sapphire substrates by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy. By increasing the Bi flux during the growth process, $Bi_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films with various Bi contents (x = 0~13.17 atomic %) were prepared. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements revealed the formation of Bi-oxide phase in (Bi)ZnO after increasing the Bi content. However, it was impossible to determine whether the formed Bi-oxide phase was the monoclinic structure ${\alpha}-Bi_2O_3$ or the tetragonal structure ${\beta}-Bi_2O_3$ by means of XRD ${\theta}-2{\theta}$ measurements, as the observed diffraction peaks of the $2{\theta}$ value at ~28 were very close to reflection of the (012) plane for the monoclinic structure ${\alpha}-Bi_2O_3$ at 28.064 and the reflection of the (201) plane for the tetragonal structure ${\beta}-Bi_2O_3$ at 27.946. By means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) using a diffraction pattern analysis and a high-resolution lattice image, it was finally determined as the monoclinic structure ${\alpha}-Bi_2O_3$ phase. To investigate the distribution of the Bi and Bi-oxide phases in BiZnO films, elemental mapping using energy dispersive spectroscopy equipped with TEM was performed. Considering both the XRD and the elemental mapping results, it was concluded that hexagonal-structure wurtzite $Bi_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films were grown at a low Bi content (x = ~2.37 atomic %) without the formation of ${\alpha}-Bi_2O_3$. However, the increased Bi content (x = 4.63~13.17 atomic %) resulted in the formation of the ${\alpha}-Bi_2O_3$ phase in the wurtzite (Bi)ZnO matrix.

  • Volumetric measurement of hippocampus using IBASPM, the 20's normal adults 10 people's brain images were acquired in order to assess the changes according to the type of the Atlas. Images was obtained using MPRAGE of a 3-D gradient echo pulse sequence on Head matrix coil of 1.5T MRI system. The results of Paired t-test using obtained volume of hippocampus depending on the type of the Atlas, Atlas69-Altas84, Atlas69-Atlas116(p=0.729, 0.729) in the left hippocampus and Atlas69-Atlas84, Atlas69-Atlas116(p=0.219, 0.219) in right hippocampal formation were no significant differences but in the area except this, there was significant difference(p=0.000). The volume of the hippocampus using Atlas84 and Atlas116, represented the same value and there was no significant difference. In the image analysis using the overlay of atlas image and original image, Atlas71 could be found that the area of hippocampus did mismatch. In the case of atlas used in this study, because it has been developed by the westerners, there are differences between brain of asian. It would be needed to development of new Atlas for high accuracy measurement of the volume of hippocampus.

  • The constraints necessary guarantee using the comparison of these extrinsic parameters, which each Rotation matrix and Translation Vector must be equal to the either, except the X-axis Translation Vector. Thus, we can not yet calculate the 3D-range measurement in the end of camera calibration. To minimize this disadvantage, the Epipolar Rectification has been proposed in the literature. This paper aims to present the development of Epipolar Rectification to calibrate Stereo cameras. The required computation of the transformation mapping between points in 3D-space is based on calculating the image point that appears on new image plane by using calibrated parameters. This computation is assumed from the rotating the old ones around their optical center until focal planes becomes coplanar, thereby containing the baseline, and the Z-axis of both camera coordinate to be parallel together. The optical center positions of the new extrinsic parameters are the same as the old camera, whereas the new orientation differs from the old ones by the suitable rotations. The intrinsic parameters are the same for both cameras. So that, after completed calibration process, immediately can calculate the 3D-range measurement. And the rectification determines a transformation of each image plane such that pairs of conjugate Epipolar lines become collinear and parallel to one of the image axis. From the experimental results verify the proposed technique are agreed with the expected specifications.

  • We propose a method for accurate image acquisition in a machine vision system in the present study. The most important feature is required by the various lenses to implement real and of the same high quality image-forming optical role. The input of the machine vision system, however, is generated due to the aberration of the lens distortion. Transformation defines the relationship between the real-world coordinate system and the image coordinate system to solve these problems, a mapping function that matrix operations by calculating the distance between two coordinates to specify the exact location. Tolerance Focus Lens caused by the lens aberration correction processing to Galvanometer laser precision machining operations can be improved. Aberration of the aspheric lens has a two-dimensional shape of the curve, but the existing lens correction to linear time-consuming calibration methods by examining a large number of points the problem. How to apply the Bilinear interpolation is proposed in order to reduce the machining error that occurs due to the aberration of the lens processing equipment.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a new on-line nonlinear PCA(OL-NPCA) method for a nonlinear feature extraction from the incremental data. Kernel PCA(KPCA) is widely used for nonlinear feature extraction, however, it has been pointed out that KPCA has the following problems. First, applying KPCA to N patterns requires storing and finding the eigenvectors of a N${\times}$N kernel matrix, which is infeasible for a large number of data N. Second problem is that in order to update the eigenvectors with an another data, the whole eigenspace should be recomputed. OL-NPCA overcomes these problems by incremental eigenspace update method with a feature mapping function. According to the experimental results, which comes from applying OL-NPCA to a toy and a large data problem, OL-NPCA shows following advantages. First, OL-NPCA is more efficient in memory requirement than KPCA. Second advantage is that OL-NPCA is comparable in performance to KPCA. Furthermore, performance of OL-NPCA can be easily improved by re-learning the data.

  • The objective of this study was to analyzed pattern of proteins expression abnormally in cloned bovine placenta. TIMP-2 protein whose function is related to extracellular matrix degradation and tissue remodeling processes was one of differentially up-regulated proteins in SCNT placenta. And one of down-regulated protein in SCNT placenta was identified as vimentin protein that is presumed to stabilize the architecture of the cytoplasm. The expression patterns of these proteins were validated by Western blotting. To evaluate how regulatory loci. of TIMP-2 and vimentin genes was programmed reprogramming in cloned placenta. the status of DNA methylation in the promoter region of TIMP-2 and vimentin genes was analyzed by sodium Bisulfite mapping. The DNA methylation results showed that there was not difference in methylation pattern of TIMP-2 and vimentin loci between cloned and normal placenta. Histone H3 acetylation state of the nucleosome was analyzed in the cloned placental and normal placenta by Western blotting. A small portion of the protein lysates were subjected to Western blotting with the antibodies against anti acetyl-Histone H3. Overall histone H3 acetylation state of SCNT placenta was significantly higher than those of normal placenta cells. It is postulated that cloned placenta at the end of gestation seems to be unusual in function and morphology of placenta via improper expression of TIMP-2 and vimentin by abnormal acetylation states of cloned genome.

  • In this paper, we propose HMM-based upper-body gesture. First, to recognize gesture of space, division about pose that is composing gesture once should be put priority. In order to divide poses which using interface, we used two IR cameras established on front side and side. So we can divide and acquire in front side pose and side pose about one pose in each IR camera. We divided the acquired IR pose image using SVM's non-linear RBF kernel function. If we use RBF kernel, we can divide misclassification between non-linear classification poses. Like this, sequences of divided poses is recognized by gesture using HMM's state transition matrix. The recognized gesture can apply to existent application to do mapping to OS Value.

  • Emission input modules was developed to produce emission input data and change some profiles for Sparse Matrix Operator Kernel Emissions (SMOKE) using Clean Air Policy Support System (CAPSS)'s activities and previous studies. Specially, this study was focused to improve chemical speciation and temporal allocation profiles of SMOKE. At first, SCC cord mapping was done. 579 SCC cords of CAPSS were matched with EPA's one. Temporal allocation profiles were changed using CAPSS monthly activities. And Chemical speciation profiles were substituted using Kang et al. (2000) and Lee et al. (2005) studies and Kim et al. (2005) study. Simulation in Seoul Metropolitan Area (Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi) using MM5, SMOKE and CMAQ modeling system was done for effect analysis of changed input modules of SMOKE. Emission model results adjusted with new input modules were slightly changed as compared to using EPA's default modules. SMOKE outputs shows that aldehyde emissions were decreased 4.78% after changing chemical profiles, increased 0.85% after implementing new temporal profiles. Toluene emissions were decreased 18.56% by changing chemical speciation profiles, increased 0.67% by replacing temporal profiles as well. Simulated results of air quality were also slightly elevated by using new input modules. Continuous accumulation of domestic data and studies to develop input system for air quality modeling would produce more improved results of air quality prediction.

  • Multidimensional scaling (MDS) is a widely used method for dimensionality reduction, of which purpose is to represent high-dimensional data in a low-dimensional space while preserving distances among objects as much as possible. MDS has mainly been applied to data visualization and feature selection. Among various MDS methods, the classical MDS is not readily applicable to data which has large numbers of objects, on normal desktop computers due to its computational complexity. More precisely, it needs to solve eigenpair problems on dissimilarity matrices based on Euclidean distance. Thus, running time and required memory of the classical MDS highly increase as n (the number of objects) grows up, restricting its use in large-scale domains. In this paper, we propose an efficient approximation algorithm for the classical MDS based on divide-and-conquer and CUDA. Through a set of experiments, we show that our approach is highly efficient and effective for analysis and visualization of data consisting of several thousands of objects.

  • As a result of the recent explosive growth of scientific data, extremely large volume datasets have become increasingly commonplace. While several texture-based volume rendering algorithms have been proposed, most of them focused on volumes smaller than the hardware's available texture memory. This paper presents a new parallel volume rendering scheme for very large static and time-varying data on a multipipe system architecture. Our scheme subdivides large volumes dynamically into smaller bricks, and assigns them adaptively to graphics pipes to minimize the costs of texture swapping. With the new method, Phong shaded images can be easily created by computing the gradients on the fly and using the color matrix feature of OpenGL. We report experimental results on an SGI Onyx2 for the various large datasets.
