  • Since 1972, Remote Sensing has been consistently developed and reached today's technology of gaining high resolution images from space, Images from some high resolution satellites have a spatial resolution better than 1m, for example, one by Space Imaging EOSAT which will be in operation by 1998. These Images can be used in various applicable areas such as map makings, surveyings, water resource management, agriculture, by many different users, for example, central and local governments, utility companies of gas, electricity, telecommunication, and so on. Specially, availability of 1m space images will bring revolutionary changes in map making methods that has been mostly adapted for air photos, In this paper, we review trends of this new technology and discuss how to use these images.

  • In these days, damages from localized heavy rain or typhoon are increase and people are making constant effort to work out countermeasures. Especially, by apply GIS with prompt extraction of information and objective analysis, we could demonstrate more effectively. For that reason, in this research we make the connection between rainfall-runoff model and HEC-RAS which calculate automatically and inquire out the dangerous zone easier way by describing the result with the connection between the Map Object and MFC. Most of all, this research will be very useful to forecast and prepare the disaster because it could plot plane figures, longitudinal sections and cross sections at the same time to help understand the damaged situation.

  • This study has been performed with the purpose of making Rural Village Development Project Landscape Plan in which landscape characteristics in rural villages are reflected so that landscape in the medium to long term shall be established and managed. The issue that has been brought up is that procedures of Rural Landscape Plan and Rural Village Development Project Landscape Plan have been focused on facilities. The study carries out resources survey in agriculture, daily life and history and culture to make Rural Village Development Project Landscape Plan in O-chon district. Through landscape evaluation map participated by local residents, landscape management areas which they can form and manage have been established. The study also suggests Projects and guidelines appropriate to management areas. The study has a different signification from the existing Rural Village Development Project Landscape Plan which is fundamentally devoted to specific projects. The study shows Landscape Plan in the medium to long term and suggests guidelines available to be used by residents.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new path planning algorithm which combines the merits of a visibility graph algorithm and an adaptive cell decomposition. We quantize a given map with empty cells, blocked cells, and mixed cells, then find the optimal path on the quantized map using a visibility graph algorithm. For reducing the number of the quantized cells we use the quad-tree technique which is used in an adaptive cell decomposition, and for improving the performance of the visibility checking in making a visibility graph we propose a new visibility checking method which uses the property of the quad-tree instead of the well-known rotational sweep-line algorithm. For the more efficient visibility checking, we propose two additional improvements for our suggested method. Both of them are used for reducing the visited cells in the quad-tree. The experiments for a performance comparison of our algorithm with other well-known algorithms show that our proposed method is superior to others.

  • This paper proposes RCB(Reduced Compact Binary) trie to correct faults of CB(Compact Binary) trie. First, in the case of CB trie, a compact structure was tried for the first time, but as the amount of data was increasing, that of inputted data gained and much difficulty was experienced in insertion due to the dummy nods used in balancing trees. On the other hand, if the HCB trie realized hierarchically, given certain depth to prevent the map from increasing on the right, reached the depth, the method for making new trees and connecting to them was used. Eventually, fast progress could be made in the inputting and searching speed, but this had a disadvantage of the storage space becoming bigger because of the use of dummy nods like CB trie and of many tree links. In the case of RCB trie in this thesis, a capacity is increased by about 60% by completely cutting down dummy nods.

  • For the mass evaluation on the earth cutting volume, Geographic information system(GIS) based on digital topographical map executed on the ground condition in presents states and after installing utilities, and making visual decision. This study presents that the general reviews considering economical, technological efficiency as well as natural factors was carried. To the rational examines about plan and procedure of development was approved, the geographical analysis was performed that was based on the topographical shape before construction and the field states after construction, which will be utilized more useful data for mass curve calculation.

  • Most modern computer communications and storage media support encryption technology. Many of the Ping Pong algorithms are stream ciphers that generate random numbers in the LFSR core structure. The LFSR has a structure that guarantees the maximum period of a given size, but it has a linear structure and can be predicted. Therefore, the Ping Pong algorithm has a feature of making the linearity of the LFSR into a nonlinear structure through variable clocks and functions. In this paper, we try to improve the existing linearity by replacing the linear disadvantages of LFSR with logistic maps.

  • This study tried to establish a renewal guideline for rural villages through the analysis on locational characteristics of amenity/disamenity elements. Space Syntax Method was applied to analyze the locational characteristics of amenity/disamenity elements in qualitative terms. The study was carried out by 5 steps: Selection of amenity/disamenity classification table and case study villages(used same ones as in the previous study) ${\rightarrow}$ Drawing of base-map for spatial analysis ${\rightarrow}$ Preparation of final study-map after field survey ${\rightarrow}$ Spatial analysis using the Space Syntax Method ${\rightarrow}$ Proposing of a rural village renewal guideline. Through the application study to the case study villages, it was ascertained that the renewal guideline proposed in this study would well help reflect spatial characteristics of amenity/disamenity elements in plan-making works of rural villages.

  • It will be a real good news for the people who were lost their hometown by the construction of a large dam to be restored to the former state. Focused on Cheung-Pyung around where most part were flooded by the Chungju large Dam founded in early 1980s, we used Remote Sensing Technique in this study in order to restore topographical features before the flood with 3 dimensional effects. We gathered comparatively good satellite photos and remotely sensed digital images, then we made a new color image from these and the topographical map which had been made before the flood. This task was putting together two kinds of different timed images. And then, we generated DEM including the outskirts of that area as harmonizing current contour lines with the map. That could be a perfect 3D image of Cheung-Pyung around before when it had been flood by making perspective images from all directions, north, south, east and west, for showing there in three dimensions. Also, flying simulation we made for close visiting can bring us to experience their real space at that time.
