A Stepwise Approach to Product Safety Management (제품안전경영을 위한 로드맵과 단계별 실행모형)

  • This study proposes a stepwise approach to product safety management(PSM), of which roadmap consists of five phases. ISO 9001 QM model is assumed as the first-phase model and each higher-phase model is built by adding a corresponding module to the lower one. In the phase order, those modules are CCMS, a failure to warn, manufacturing defect and design defect. The progress in PSM of a domestic food company is discussed.

  • Gunpowder was invented as a result of discovering the fact that potassium nitrate acts as an oxygen carrier in the process of manufacturing traditional medicine by heating the mixture of potassium nitrate and sulfur. Rapid progress was made in dynamite manufactring technology as a result of development of basic chemistry in Europe. However, recently the demand for dynamite has decreased in favor of the ANFO explosive which is improved production technology. This study was attempted to clear the historical facts concerned with the developing process of European eaplosive technology, and intended to submitt the reference materials for researchers.

  • Electronic Paper Displays (EPDs) incorporating electrophoretic foils have made digital reading as pleasant as reading normal print. We will report on progress to replace glass-based displays with light and robust plastic EPDs using only a few extra process steps in a standard TFT-LCD factory.

  • The performance of the LSI improved drastically due to the progress of the semiconductor manufacturing technology in recent years. However, a new problem such as wiring delay and complication inside the LSI occurs. The study to solve these problems with much research organization is been doing. We tried to solve of these problems by using the neuron MOS transistor with 4-valued signal in addition to the binary signal. In this paper, We present, method which realizes 4-valued logic function. And, a designed circuit, is verified by using HSPICE.

  • This study is aimed for manufacturing a High performance Concrete(HPC) Pile as using steel fibers, investigation the mechanical properties of HPC Pile and proposition the potential application. At this study. We found that mechanical properties(cracking moment and fracture moment) of Pretensioned spun High strength Concrete (PHC) Pile using steel fibers is much superior to without steel fibers. Therefore. we think that using steel fibers in Concrete Pile is to progress flexural strength energy absorption capacity and post-cracking resistance.

  • The 30m, 3phase, 22.9kV HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) power cable system was produced by LS Cable Ltd. The project aims for a commercial HTS cable. The designing, the manufacturing and the initial operating of HTS cable system were completed by 2004. Then, we have performed a long term operational test since February, 2005. This paper mainly reports the result of the HTS cable cooling operation.

  • In recent years considerable progress has been made in the characterisation of surface finish in three dimensions, and in the development of protocols which can be used for international standardisation. Although the subject as it has currently developed has much further to go if the process of surface characterisation is to impact on manufacture, control and specification of the manufacturing process itself. Researchers in this important area are beginning to realise that if the subject is to have great impact on manufacturing industries, surface characterisation must be broadened to include measures of surface integrity of the component and in addition be related to the functional demands imposed on the surface. The functional demands being a requirement of the engineering situation in which the components are employed. If these three factors are considered simultaneously, surface characterisation, surface integrity and component function, then a new and important subject is born, the subject of the Engineered Surface. Part 1 of this paper attempts to draw together the elements which go together to create the subject, 'The Engineered Surface'. The paper presents a method by which this important subject can be developed to the benefit of manufacturing industries. The paper also discusses the importance of a co-ordinated approach to the subject and the way that information can be documented to eventually provide a useful atlas of controlling parameters which are essential for a range of material processing industries as they strive to meet the ever more stringent and cost effective requirements of the manufacture.

  • This study confirms Busan area medium and small enterprises' position and analyzed present condition and actual conditions of swing Korea measure and consumer's attitude about measure in general circumstance that our country medium and small enterprises is placed in information. According to result that analyze Busan area medium and small enterprises' information level, Busan was expose by whole country average low including the electron commercial transaction rate. When consider weight that Busan economy occupies in gross domestic product, information differential of medium and small enterprises of Busan area is subject that must improve urgently and seriousness point is true that information differential of manufacturing industry is main factor more. Therefore, urgent agenda should be the activation of manufacturing industry information assistance measure and extension of current manufacturing technique information assistance business for Busan economy. Also, at problem solution progress, Busan is thought that must come looking for seat role actively.

  • Engineering valuation is a specialized discipline requiring expert knowledge and judgment, which scientifically estimates the economic value of industrial properties. By industrial properties, we mean engineering structures such as mines, factories, buildings, machines, and other industrial facilities as well as facilities of public enterprises. Particular industrial properties can have longer economic life if their performance is excellent and they are still suitable for current manufacturing needs. If not, its economic life will be shorter. As speed of technological progress becomes rapid, life-cycle and development period of a product is becoming shorter. In an industry characterized by rapid development of technology, industrial properties can become obsolescent faster. Even if they are in good working order, they could be no longer suitable for manufacturing new products based on radically different technology. In our research, we apply engineering approach to estimating functional economic life by factoring in technological obsolescence in such an industry.
