다변량 정규분포 모의모형을 이용한 물자운반작업을 수행하는 작업자의 인체 치수 및 관절염력의 예측에 관한 연구 (Estimation of anthropometric body dimensions and joint strengths of a worker performing manual materials handling tasks using a multivariate normal simulation model)

  • The primary objective of the research is to develop a mathematical method to incorporate the variability of anthropometric body dimensions and joint strengths of individuals in a biomechanical analysis. A multivariate normal simulation model estimated anthropometric body dimensions and joint strengths of the random link-person, based on the assumptions that the vari- ables of body dimensions and joint strengths are correlated and follow normal distributions. Statistical comparative analysis demonstrated that the random link-person represented a more realistic human-like form in an anthropometric sense than the proportional link-person whose body dimensions were estimated proportionally. Estimated joint strengths for the random link-person, however, did not match the measured joint strengths as closely as the estimated body dimensions. The random link-person will allow biomechanical analysis of manual materials handling tasks to be individualized with respect to the anthropometry and a static strength.

인력물자취급시 작업빈도에 따른 인체심리학적 최대허용중량의 비교 연구 (Comparison of Psychophysical Maximum Acceptable Weight of Load for Different Frequency of Manual Materials Handling Tasks)

  • The objective of this study was to make comparison of the psychophysical MAWLs for different manual materials handling tasks. Lifting activities with four different lifting frequencies (2, 5, 8, 11 lifts/min) for one lifting range from floor to 76cm height were studied. The oxygen consumption rate and heart rate were measured or recorded while subjects were lifting their MAWLs. Psychophysical MAWL decreased from 22.38 kg to 7.48 kg, while th oxygen consumption rate with the MAWL increased from 717.8 ml/min to 1114.7 ml/min as the frequency increased from 2 to 11 Lifts/min. Heart rate also increased from 104.5 to 120.7 bpm. It was found that the relationship between MAWL and frequency can be described best by the exponentaial function with the R-sq value 0.9865 for this study. The percent ratio of oxygen consumption rate with the MAWL and PWC ranged from 28% to 43%.

한국근로자의 임의적 최대근력 평가를 위한 연구 (A Study of Maximum Voluntary Strength Evaluation for Korean Workers)

  • In order to evaluate task loads required by a majority of manual materials handling(MMH) jobs, we have performed the assessment of arm strength, leg strength and torso strength for Korean workers in a scientific and systematic manner. Two hundred and eighty five employees from two local manufacturing plants in Pohang participated in this project. Maximum voluntary strengths were assessed for the aforementioned three postures, and these data were classified by gender. These strength data were also used to generate a strength predicition model, which can estimate the maximum voluntary strength for a population with specific age, height and weight. These strength data will be used for the prevention of occupational injuries which are frequently incurred by overexertion in manual materials handling jobs.

사용자 선호도 평가를 통한 액체 저장용기의 손잡이 개발 (Development of Handles for Liquid Container through the Evaluation of User Preferences)

  • In this study, a prototype liquid container combined with auxiliary handles was designed to increase the safety of manual handling and protect from contamination of hands of people who use these containers. Likert summated rating method as well as pairwise ranking test was applied to evaluate the user preferences for provided handles of the container under the conditions of different shapes and positions. The results show that the subjects preferred perpendicular orientation of the handle on the top of the liquid container while carrying the containers and the crosswise position of the handle at the side of the container while pouring the liquid were preferred. A prototype liquid container with provided auxiliary handles was developed based on the results of evaluation. It is thus recommended that the liquid container provide extra handles to reduce the musculoskeletal stress and in turn to increase the user satisfaction.

  • 인력운반작업(Manual Materials Handling)에 의해 초래되는 요통의 발생을 줄이기 위해서 작업설계부터 작업부하량에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대한 과학적이고 체계적인 고려가 이루어진 분석방법이 도입되어야 할 필요성이 크다고 하겠으며 이를위하여 우선 최대근력의 측정과 평가가 선행되어야만 될 것이다. 따라서 신체적인 특성과 각 근력의 상호관계가 분석·고찰되었으며 최대근력을 실험적으로 측정하여 평가하였다.

The oxygen consumption rate and heart rate were measured or recorded while subjects were lifting their MAWLs. It was found that the relationship between MAWL and frequency can be described best by the exponential function with the R-sq value 0.9865 for this study. Psychophysical MAWL decreased from 22.38 to 7.48 kg, while the oxygen consumption rate with the MAWL increased from 717.8 to $1114.7m{\ell}-O_2/min$ as the frequency increased from 2 to 11 lifts/min. Heart rate also increased from 104.5 to 120.7 bpm. The ratio of oxygen consumption for the MAWL to the Physical Work Capacity (PWC) ranged from 28 to 43%. The MAWLs were greater than or equal to the Maximum Permissible Limits (MPLs) when the frequencies were higher than 8 lifts/min. It seems that the MAWLs by psychophysical approach when the frequencies were higher than 8 lifts/min tend to be overestimated from the viewpoint of the physiological criterion of the oxygen consumption rates. From these findings it is suggested that the NIOSH Guideline should not be directly applied to Korean without reasonable modifications.

허리의 비틀림 각도에 따른 근육 활동 분석 (A Study on the Muscle Activity During Asymmetric Load Handling)

  • Low back pain has been known as the most frequent musuculoskeletal disorders in modern industrial society and cost by low back pain is increasing mon and more. The asymmetric lifting has been identified as a major risk factor of low back pain. In this study, the muscle activity and muscle exertion level during asymmetric load handling (without trunk flexion) was estimated. The results of normalized MVC measurement were decreased about 16%, 24%, 34% respectively as the asymmetric angle was $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$. From the results of EMG measurement contralateral muscles were more active than ipsilateral muscles. RMSEMG values of right erector spinae muscles were decreased as the work posture went to 90$^{\circ}$ and those of left erector spinae muscles were increased until the asymmetric angle was 40$^{\circ}$ but decreased continually over 40$^{\circ}$. And for seven of subjects, activities of left and right latissimus dorsi muscles were maintained constantly, while for remainer, those were irregular.

요통재해의 위험요인분석모형의 개발

  • 본 논문은 인력운반작업(Manual Materials Handling)과 관련된 위험요인을 파악하여 안전한 작업을 설계할 수 있는 기준을 설정하는 것을 목표로 하고 있으며, 이러한 목표를 달성하기 위하여 운수유통업을 중심으로 현장에서의 인력운반 작업에 대한 실증적인 조사를 실시하여 기존에 알려진 인력운반의 위험요인 이외에 작업자들의 행동적인 위험요인이나 그밖에 그간 고려되지 못하였던 실질적인 위험인자들을 밝혀내고자 하였으며 최근에 들어 인력운반에 있어 새로운 위험평가 기법으로 사용되고 있는 LMM(Lumbar Motion Monitor)을 가능하게 할 수 있는 electrogoniometric system을 구성하여 새로운 방범으로 인력운반의 위험성을 평가 하고자 하였다.   • Manual materials handling and improper working postures are known to be a major cause fo low back injuries, which are one of the major problems in the economic and public health aspects. In this study, two machine repair shops of a manufacturing company in Pohang are selected to investigate the potential hazards of low back injuries. Questionnaire study and worker's strength evaluation are conducted and the results are analyzed. Field workers performing the relatively low stressful jobs were also studied as a control group for comparison with the workers performing the tasks under study.
