Development of a Customer Friendly GIS-based Disaster Management System in South Korea

  • Purpose: This study explored the improvement and the direction of the smart disaster management system newly attempted in South Korea by analyzing the utilization of the existing system. This study focuses on making it easy to apply to user tasks and improving on site information. Research design, data and methodology: Problems were identified through field surveys with administrators in charge of administration and public institutions based on GIS based status board for NDMS which is widely used in Korea. Also, this study attempted to generalize to specialists in disaster management who are more likely to use the system in the future. Results: We derived improvement plans and verified the results through expert feedback. The results show that the GIS based status board for NDMS is cumbersome to use due to the vast array of unnecessary information compared to the high expected utilization. Conclusions: We found that improving the speed and accuracy of the smart disaster management information delivery system is necessary. Also, it is important to identify reasons for not improve the willingness to use this technology in disaster management and to figure out the process by which field personnel makes decisions that smart disaster information cannot be used for disaster management.

  • The management method of the irrigation facilities are different with management agency , type, user, purpose of use, and the accuracy of data applied for the grasp of present situation and maintenance is of a low grade. Therefore the information management system is needed to classify and systematize the data. The purpose of this study is to prepare the digital map of Chonbuk FLIA district, to construct the database of the irrigation facilities , to develop the information system for the management using World Wide Web, to supply and be able to use easily to whomever needs it.

  • PMIS (Project Management Information System) has been applied in the R4-PROJECT This construction project has been controlled and managed by PMIS for the whole process of project. Moreover, this PMIS is updated to the Self-regulation System for Quality and Safety Management which is integrated and developed from PMIS in R4-PROJECT. So, The Self-regulation System for Quality and Safety Management has been delivering effective communication and information distribution with various stakeholders related to project and also brought the achievement of efficient construction management. As the system is successfully utilize, the satisfaction of costumer request and the performance of no accident for 550 million hours could be attained.

  • Recently, the strategy of the age of limitless competition for existence of manufacturing company appears for the enhancement of productivity through the automatic system, the reduction for the cost for standardization and the decision making process for the information system. Especially the critical success factors in manufacturing company can be summarized for the establishment of production visibility through the production management, material & work-in-process management, the establish of the flexible manufacturing system for the changed order priority and the establish of the quality system for improvement of product and process quality. The existing production management systems supply only simple information about production results on real time, can delay quick decision making. And it can prevent acquiring the information about various customer needs and the communication problems with other systems. In this paper, it will show MES system, a solution for the problems of existing production management systems. And through a case study of D company, it will reveal improvement effect on shipment error using MES system and economic analysis for MES itself.

The Building Strategies of Natural Park Integration Monitoring System Based on Geographic Information Analysis System

  • The goal of this study was to propose building strategies of web-based national park monitoring system (WNPMS) using geographic information analysis system. To accomplish this study, at first, this study selected and made integrated management indicators considering physical, ecological, and socio-psychological carrying capacity in national park. Secondly, this study built up an integrated management this system with statistical analysis program for execution of various multivariate analysis and spatial analysis. Finally, WNPMS could identify the relationship among visitors, natural resources, and recreation facilities in national park, and forecast the future management status of each national park in Korea. There results of this study will contribute to prevent the damage of natural resources and facilities, improve visitor's satisfaction, prevent an excess of carrying capacity at national park, and established tailored management strategies of each national park.

  • This study of bimodal integration management system in conjunction with the tram and the tram cars bimodal integrated management system that occupies a part of the system to perform its role as a bimodal tram vehicle configuration, a device for the vehicle's infrastructure ryureul development and it is aimed to build on the vehicle. Bimodal tram vehicle infrastructure systems, internal and external information of the larger vehicles, and vehicles used to collect information for its own part and the integrated operations management center, or providing partial information from the station and collect/provide for the transfer of information to the communication part consists In this study, the core of these devices, the configuration of the vehicle infrastructure systems for the overall management and control of vehicles operating a computer's central processing device, vehicle infrastructure systems that make it manages and stores all jangchiryu Integrated Operations Management Center is reporting. In addition, seamless integration with operational management center for interactive communication in a vehicle mounted communications devices to maintain the best condition to manage. Current general traffic management system in a similar terminal device being used, but bimodal tram vehicles operating the computer of the vehicle operates the infrastructure to configure the devices around the one to configure the system in terms of step enhanced the active type, the operating terminal unit of inter active type. In this study, considering the future alignment of the accounting fee system, the expansion of the system reliability and stability around the activities that are underway.

스캔도면 기반 선실바닥의장 생산관리 시스템 개발 (Scanned Drawing-based Production Management System for Deckhouse Floor Outfitting)

  • A production management system is developed to enhance both the information and productivity of ship and offshore plant deckhouse floor outfitting. The functions of the production management system for the deckhouse floor outfitting were reviewed based on a literature survey of several production management systems with respect to the ship building and architecture fields. This study investigated numerous daily production reports and their application to actual work places to utilize the system development. The developed scanned drawing-based production management (SDPM) system minimizes any loss and/or distortion of work information between the workshop and management office when applying a scanned production drawing to the daily report. The SDPM system increases the data objectivity, as well as intuitiveness of the information generation by adopting an efficient user interface, which makes it possible to perform image annotations on the scanned drawing for the daily production report while simultaneously interacting with the production management database. Applying the system operation to actual deckhouse floor covering work verified that it was feasible to use the SDPM system for production management in the ship outfitting work process.

시군관리 저수지의 물관리 정보화를 위한 시스템 분석 (System Analysis for Water Management Information Strategy of Agricultural Reservoir managed by City and County)

  • Water management information system used by KRC(Korea Rural Community Corporation) operates widely including RIMS, RAWRIS and etc. Other systems are operated by each government department, for example, K-water(Korea Water Resources Corporation)'s WAMIS. Even though small scale reservoirs managed by city/country is just about 12% of total water resource, the reservoirs are important for controlling and securing water resource as the reservoirs, including about 14,700 reservoirs nationwide, are located at main subwater shed. So, it is necessary for KRC to execute integrated informatization. In this research, system analysis was performed to comprise the integrated water management information system including the reservoirs controlled by city and country at first. And then, improvement plan for informatization of the reservoirs controlled by city and country was proposed. This study proposed the improvement plan for informatization of the reservoirs managed by the city and country, which was systematically proposed through systemic analysis including from reservoir site to the integrated water management information system. The objects includes 1. Reservoir (basin, facilities, water depth-area curve, benefiter area), 2. Field supervision organization for the reservoir 3. Local government administrative organization, 4. Center organization 5. Network for information transfer, 6. integrated water management information system. As the reservoirs controlled by city and country are important considering managing water and facilities, operated by local government with minimum budget due to budget problem, securing sufficient budget is necessary to form an specialized organization controlling facilities and the water management system in terms of drought and flood control.

Defining Functions for Integrated Information Management System of University Financial Support Project

  • 본 논문에서는 대학재정지원사업의 사업 프로세스 및 관리 특성을 분석하여 대학재정지원사업 통합정보관리시스템 구축을 위한 기능을 정의하였다. 이를 위해 대학재정지원사업의 사업 프로세스를 살펴보았고 이를 통하여 공통으로 필요한 6가지 기능을 도출하였다. 도출된 기능을 적용한 통합시스템 구축을 위해서 먼저 선행되어야 할 사항들은 사업 기획 단계에서 통합을 고려한 사업 관리 체계를 표준화하고 회계 관련 규정의 정리가 필요하다. 본 논문에서 도출된 기능들과 시사점을 바탕으로 향후 대학재정지원사업 통합정보관리시스템 설계하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

교육정보의 효율적 관리를 위한 표준데이터 코드관리프로그램 설계 (Design of Standard Data Code Management System for the Efficient Management of Educational Information)

  • 우리 사회가 점차 지식기반 정보사회로 변화해 감에 따라 수 많은 지식이 폭발적으로 증가하고 있다. 이에 많은 교육정보 자원의 효율적인 관리와 활용을 위해 정보시스템들이 구축되어 활용되고 있다. 그러나 체계적인 관리체계의 미흡으로 인하여 각 시스템별로 다양한 코드체계를 사용하고 있다. 이러한 상이한 코드체계는 각 시스템간의 정보공유 및 활용의 효율성을 저해하는 요인이 되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교육정보 자원의 효율적인 관리를 위한 표준데이터 코드관리시스템을 설계하여 교육정보 자원의 효율적 관리방안을 모색하였다.
