The main goal of VANETs is to improve the safety of all road users. Therefore, the accuracy and trustworthiness of messages transmitted in VANETs are essential, given that life may rely on them. VANETs are provided with basic security services through the use of public key infrastructure-based authentication. However, the trust of users is still an open issue in VANETs. It is important to prevent bogus message attacks from internal vehicles as well as protect vehicle privacy. In this paper, we propose a trust management scheme that ensures trust in VANETs while maintaining vehicle privacy. The trust scheme establishes trust between vehicles where a trust value is assigned to every vehicle based on its behavior and messages are accepted only from vehicles whose trust value is greater than a threshold, therefore, protecting VANETs from malicious vehicles and eliminating bogus messages. If a traffic event happens, vehicles upload event messages to the reachable roadside unit (RSU). Once the RSU has confirmed that the event happened, it announces the event to vehicles in its vicinity and records it into the blockchain. Using this mechanism, RSUs are prevented from sending fake or unverified event notifications. Simulations are carried out in the context of bogus message attacks to evaluate the trust scheme's reliability and efficiency. The results of the simulation indicate that the proposed scheme outperforms the compared schemes and is highly resistant to bogus message attacks.

The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is currently an important approach to improve personal safety and driving comfort. ANEL is a MAC-based authentication scheme that offers all the advantages of MAC-based authentication schemes and overcomes all their limitations at the same time. In addition, the given scheme, ANEL, can achieve the security objectives such as authentication, privacy preservation, non-repudiation, etc. In addition, our scheme provides effective bio-password login, system key update, bio-password update, and other security services. Additionally, in the proposed scheme, the Trusted Authority (TA) can disclose the source driver and vehicle of each malicious message. The heavy traffic congestion increases the number of messages transmitted, some of which need to be secretly transmitted between vehicles. Therefore, ANEL requires lightweight mechanisms to overcome security challenges. To ensure security in our ANEL scheme we can use cryptographic techniques such as elliptic curve technique, session key technique, shared key technique and message authentication code technique. This article proposes a new efficient and light authentication scheme (ANEL) which consists in the protection of texts transmitted between vehicles in order not to allow a third party to know the context of the information. A detail of the mapping from text passing to elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) to the inverse mapping operation is covered in detail. Finally, an example of application of the proposed steps with an illustration

In order to recognize intelligent threats quickly and detect and respond to them actively, major public bodies and private institutions operate and administer an Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), which plays a very important role in finding and detecting attacks. However, most IDS alerts have a problem that they generate false positives. In addition, in order to detect unknown malicious codes and recognize and respond to their threats in advance, APT response solutions or actions based systems are introduced and operated. These execute malicious codes directly using virtual technology and detect abnormal activities in virtual environments or unknown attacks with other methods. However, these, too, have weaknesses such as the avoidance of the virtual environments, the problem of performance about total inspection of traffic and errors in policy. Accordingly, for the effective detection of intrusion, it is very important to enhance security monitoring, consequentially. This study discusses a plan for the reduction of false positives as a plan for the enhancement of security monitoring. As a result of an experiment based on the empirical data of G, rules were drawn in three types and 11 kinds. As a result of a test following these rules, it was verified that the overall detection rate decreased by 30% to 50%, and the performance was improved by over 30%.

DDoS attack is a malicious attempt to exhaust resources of target system and network capacities using lots of distributed zombi systems. DDoS attack introduced in early 2000 has being evolved over time and presented in a various form of attacks. This paper proposes a scheme to detect DDoS attacks and to reduce possibility of such attacks that are especially based on vulnerabilities presented by using control packets of existing network protocols. To cope with DDoS attacks, the proposed scheme utilizes a buffer management techniques commonly used for congestion control in Internet. Our scheme is not intended to detect DDoS attacks perfectly but to minimize possibility of overloading of internal system and to mitigate possibility of attacks by discarding control packets at the time of detecting DDoS attacks. In addition, the detection module of our scheme can adapt dynamically to instantly increasing traffic unlike previously proposed schemes.

The Internet continues to grow and develop, but there are going to generate a variety of Internet attacks that exploit it. In the initial Internet environment, the attackers maliciously exploited Internet environments for ostentations and hobbies. but these days many malicious attempts purpose the financial gain so systematic and sophisticated attacks that are associated with various crimes are occurred. The structures, such as viruses and worms were present in the form of one source multi-target before. but recently, APT(Advanced Persistent Threat, intelligent continuous attacks) in the form of multi-source single target is dealing massive damage. The performance evaluation analyzed whether to generate audit data and detect integrity infringement, and false positives for normal traffic, process detecting and blocking functions, and Agent policy capabilities with respect to the application availability.
This paper deals with reconfigurable secured mobile systems where the reconfigurability has the potential of providing a required adaptability to change the system requirements. The reconfiguration scenario is presented as a run-time automatic operation which allows security mechanisms and the addition-removal-update of software tasks. In particular, there is a definite requirement for filtering and intrusion detection mechanisms that will use fewer resources and also that will improve the security on the secured mobile devices. Filtering methods are used to control incoming traffic and messages, whereas, detection methods are used to detect malware events. Nevertheless, when different reconfiguration scenarios are applied at run-time, new security threats will be emerged against those systems which need to support multiple security objectives: Confidentiality, integrity and availability. We propose in this paper a new approach that efficiently detects threats after reconfigurable scenarios and which is based on filtering and intrusion detection methods. The paper's contribution is applied to Android where the evaluation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed middleware in order to detect the malicious events on reconfigurable secured mobile systems and the feasibility of running and executing such a system with the proposed solutions.

This paper propose DA-UDC(Double Authentication User, Device, Cross) Module which solves the cost problem and the appropriation of Certificate using User Authentication, Device Authentication and Cross Authentication with OTA(One Time Authentication) Key, and which is designed not to subscribe to the service of Home network business. Home Server transmits its public key which is needed to create OTA to the user which passed the first step of authentication which verifies User ID, Device ID and Session Key. And it performs the second step of authentication process which verifies the OTA key created by a user. Whenever the OTA key of DA-UDC module is generated, the key is designed to be changed. Therefore, DA-UDC Module prevents the exposure of User and Device ID by performing the two steps of authentication and enhances the authentication security of Home Network from malicious user with OTA key. Also, DA-UDC Module is faster than the existing authentication system in processing speed because it performs authentication calculation only once. Though DA-UDC Module increases data traffic slightly because of the extra authentication key, it enhances the security more than the existing technique.
All medical information over sensor networks need to transmit and process securely in the u-Health services. The reliability of transmission between u-Health medical sensor devices and gateway is very important issue. When the user moves to other place with u-Health devices, its signal strength is going down and is far from the coverage of gateway. In this case, Malicious user can be carried out an intrusion under the situation. And also rogue gateway can be tried to steal medical information. Therefore, it needs mutual authentication between sensor devices and gateway. In this paper, we design a mutual authentication protocol which divided sessions from an authenticated session are updated periodically. And in order to reduce the traffic overhead for session authentication, we also introduce dynamic session management according to sampling rate of medical sensor type. In order to verify this, we implemented the programs for the test-bed, and got an overall success from three types of experiment.

In this paper, the performance of the DoS information security algorithm is evaluated to provide the multimedia traffic between the nodes using the multicasting services. The essence technology for information security to distribute the multimedia contents is presented. Under the multicasting services, a node participating new group needs a new address and the node compares the collision with the existing nodes, then DoS attack can be occurred between the nodes by a malicious node. Using the NS2 simulator, the number of DoS attacks, the average number of trials to generate new address, and the average time to create address are analyzed. From simulation results, the efficient algorithm with relevant random number design according to the DRM network is needed to provide secure multimedia contents distribution.
Although the IoT is showing explosive growth due to the development of technology and the spread of IoT devices and activation of services, serious security risks and financial damage are occurring due to the activities of various botnets. Therefore, it is important to accurately and quickly detect the activities of these botnets. As security in the IoT environment has characteristics that require operation with minimum processing performance and memory, in this paper, the minimum characteristics for detection are selected, and KNN (K-Nearest Neighbor), Naïve Bayes, Decision Tree, Random A comparative study was conducted on the performance of machine learning algorithms such as Forest to detect botnet activity. Experimental results using the Bot-IoT dataset showed that KNN can detect DDoS, DoS, and Reconnaissance attacks most effectively and efficiently among the applied machine learning algorithms.
