Design Study of an Axial Injection System for MC50 Cyclotron at KIRAMS

  • A multi-purpose cyclotron, MC50 has been operated to provide multi-ions of proton, deuteron and alpha at Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences (KIRAMS). Neutron is also produced through the (p,n) nuclear process with a Be target. However, a wide spectrum of current of ions is requested by beam users for carrying their various application fields. Therefore a simulation study is requested on the design of an axial injection system for high current proton and alpha beam extraction for radio-isotope productions and scientific researches. The purpose of this study is seeking a relatively simple method for the MC50 having higher alpha beam capability and also improving proton and deuteron beams currently used. We are considering two possibilities to improve the internal ion source and to install a new external axial injection system. The external injection system will be consisted of an Einzel lens, a steering magnet, a buncher, and a glazer lens placed in front of an inflector, which is located at the center of the main magnet.

조선시대 견직물의 생산과 유통 (A Study on Production and Distribution of Silk Fabric in the CHO-SUN Era.)

  • The goal of this suudy is to investigate the production and distribution of silk fabrics of the CHO-SUN Era. My conclusions culture was advanced as a result of its promotion by government authorities. It proceeded from south to north, and spread all over the country. The north became the center of the silkworm culture since cotton was cultivated in the south. Second, the production of silk fabrics proceeded by government orders at the beginning. But it proceeded by private enterprise at a later period. Since government-managed textile handicrafts began falling off during the 16th century, privately managed handicrafts were accomplished slowly. Third, at the same time as the introduction of natural cotton fabrics, the production of various fabrics in the CHO-SUN Era proceeded all over the country, and special production localities-formed. PYUNGAN-DO(평안도), HAMKYOUN-DO(함경도), HOANG HAE-DO(황해도), and KYUNG SANG-DO (경상도) were the main region of silk fabric production. Fourth, the silk fabrics were distributed through the capital markets and the province markets. And superior silk fabrics were distri-buted through the capital markets. And all sorts of low quality silks JU were distributed through the province market. Fifth, thus an abundance of superior silk fabrics was distributed in the CHO-SUN Era. But thequantity of production was not enough. And most of it was used in the Royal Court. The quantity of shortage was supplied by imports.

  • 본 연구에서는 방송 제작현장을 가장 충실히 담고 있는 월간 <방송문화>와 의 주제어 분석을 통해 제작체계의 구성요소를 분석했다. 분석 결과, 월간 <방송문화>의 경우, 편성 제작 중심에서 점점 방송에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소들인 제도 정책, 산업, 기술에 대해 관심을 높여왔다는 것을 확인했다. 의 경우, 제도 정책, 조직, 편성 제작, 단체행동의 순서대로 높은 빈도를 나타냈다. 두 매체의 다소 상이한 성격에도 불구하고, 제도 정책, 산업, 기술, 조직이 편성 제작을 둘러싼 담론의 중요한 요소라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Optimization of Culture Conditions for Production of Pneumococcal Capsular Polysaccharide Type IV

  • The Pneumococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, has an ample polysaccharide (PS) capsule that is highly antigenic and is the main virulence factor of the organism. The capsular PS is the source of PS vaccine. This investigation was undertaken to optimize the culture conditions for the production of capsular PS by type 4 pneumococcus. Among several culture media, brain heart infusion (BHI) and Casitone based medium were found to support luxuriant growth of pneumococcus type 4 at the same level. Therefore in this study, the Casitone based medium was used to study optimization of the culture condition because of BHI broth's high cost and complex nature. The phase of growth which accomodated maximum PS production was exponential phase. Concentrations of glucose greater than 0.8% did not enhance growth or PS production. Substitution of nitrogen sources with other resources or supplementation of various concentrations of metal ion (with the exception of calcium, copper, and magnesium ions) had adverse effects on growth and PS production. On the other hand, low level aeration and supplementation of 3 mg/l concentration of asparagine, phenylalanine, or threonine were beneficial for increased PS production. The synergistic effect of all the favorable conditions observed in pneumococcal growth assays provided a two-fold cumulative increase in capsular PS production.

A Bayesian state-space production model for Korean chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) stock

  • The main purpose of this study is to fit catch-per-unit-effort (CPUE) data about Korea chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) stock with a state-space production (SSP) model, and to provide stock assessment results. We chose a surplus production model for the chub mackerel data, namely annual yield and CPUE. Then we employed a state-space layer for a production model to consider two sources of variability arising from unmodelled factors (process error) and noise in the data (observation error). We implemented the model via script software ADMB-RE because it reduces the computational cost of high-dimensional integration and provides Markov Chain Monte Carlo sampling, which is required for Bayesian approaches. To stabilize the numerical optimization, we considered prior distributions for model parameters. Applying the SSP model to data collected from commercial fisheries from 1999 to 2017, we estimated model parameters and management references, as well as uncertainties for the estimates. We also applied various production models and showed parameter estimates and goodness of fit statistics to compare the model performance. This study presents two significant findings. First, we concluded that the stock has been overexploited in terms of harvest rate from 1999 to 2017. Second, we suggest a SSP model for the smallest goodness of fit statistics among several production models, especially for fitting CPUE data with fluctuations.

패션소품생산 분야의 국가직무능력표준 기반 교육훈련자격 설계에 관한 연구 (Study of 'Education-Training-Certificate of Qualification' Design for the Fashion Accessories Production Based on the National Competency Standards)

  • This study is to propose an 'education-training-certificate of qualification' design of fashion accessories production, which can be applied to education in universities and individuals. It is based on the National Competency Standards (NCS), which was developed through the '2013 National Competency Standards Development Project' for the fashion accessories production. FGI (Focus Group Interviews), which is a research methodology, is carried out on target groups of educational experts and specialists in the field of fashion accessories production. Through this, five courses were suggested; first, 'fashion accessories design' course was proposed for the education and training of 'design development' and 'development of raw materials'. Secondly, 'fashion product production' course was proposed for the education and training of 'production of samples'. Thirdly, 'fashion product manufacture and planning' course was proposed for the competency element units: 'calculation of cost', 'determination of mass production model and price', 'planning of the main manufacturing process' and 'ordering of raw materials'. Lastly, 'mass production of fashion products' course and the 'field practice of fashion product manufacture' course were proposed for the competency element units: 'planning for mass production', 'preparation for mass production', 'mass production' and 'inspection of completed products'. In addition, a new certificate of 'technician of fashion accessory production' was proposed in order to test qualified skills for the fashion accessories production. The test is composed of a written examination of short-answer questions, technical drawing and production.

생산 수율 관리 문제와 확률적 비교 (A Note on the Stochastic Comparison in Production Yield Management)

  • The single-period production inventory control problem under random yield is considered to analyze the impact of the yield characteristics on the firm's profit. We use the stochastic comparison as a main vehicle to compare the profits resulted under different random yields. Commonly used stochastic orderings are addressed with an analysis of their implications on the firm's profit. Moreover, a distribution-free bound on the profit is derived.

  • Modeling and system development for the fabrication process in the semiconductor manufacturing is presented in this paper. Maximization of wafer production can be achieved by the wafer flow balance under high utilization of bottleneck machines. Relatively simpler model is developed for the fabrication line by considering main characteristics of logistics. Simulation system is developed to evaluate the line performance such as balance rate, utilization, WIP amount and wafer production. Scheduling rules and input rules are suggested, and tested on the simulation system. We have shown that there exists good combination of scheduling and input rules.

  • The main purpose of this study is to research ways for waste reduction in manufacturing, materials regeneration and clean production in apparel manufacturing in Taiwan, in order to achieve 3E: Efficiency, Economy and Environmental Protection. Specifically, this study hopes to address the following three areas: (1) To study the processing technologies which can turn apparel wastes to resources (2) To increase the efficiency in the use of energy and resources in apparel production (3) To establish a system for improving the recovery from unwanted apparel in Taiwan, in order to improve environmental protection and to reduce pollution.
