  • The paper is described about the calculation method of the basic design dimensions, magnetic field distribution and equivalent circuit parameters for superconducting generator. To analyze the flux density, the induced voltage and the electromotive force, the airgap flux density government equation is derived from generator's analysis model.

Spin-Motive Force Caused by Vortex Gyration in a Circular Nanodisk with Holes

  • Spin-motive force has drawn attention because it contains a fundamental physical property. Spin-motive force creates effective electric and magnetic fields in moving magnetization; a vortex is a plausible system for observing the spin-motive force because of the abrupt profile of magnetization. However, the time-averaged value of a spin-motive force becomes zero when a vortex core undergoes gyroscopic motion. By means of micromagnetic simulation, we demonstrates that a non-zero time-averaged electric field induced by spin-motive force under certain conditions. We propose an experimental method of detecting spin-motive force that provides a better understanding of spin transport in ferromagnetic system.

  • The design of a superconducting magnet system producing very high magnetic field is underway at Korea Basic Science Institute (KBSI) to accelerate three kinds of carbon irons (C+2, C+4, C+6) to 120 MeV. A quarter-scaled prototype will be manufactured in order to confirm the feasibility of our design. Magnet Inductances in the system have a great influence on the current ramping rates and contribute to the stored energy, which are usually considered to be unfavorable in magnet operation. The modeling and simulation scheme of a prototype superconducting magnet for the cyclotron K120 is described in this paper. The inductances are calculated by a numerical method with and without iron yokes, respectively. These calculation results will be used as engineering design details such as a current ramping rate and a quench protection design.

  • HVAC transmission lines must be designed to satisfy environmental regulations. Therefore it is necessary to pre-evaluate environmental problems for transmission line designer using prediction program. In this study, environment design software, TLCALC 2001 for transmission lines was developed as a comprehensive window program. It has 6 modules that are audible noise, radio noise, television noise, magnetic field, electric field and conductor surface gradient. TLCALC 2001 solved a few problems in use of the existing foreign tools and took several advantages. Experienced designers can get the results of calculation within about 15 minutes. Because the use of TLCALC 2001 is easy and practical, this program will be usefully applied to the environmental friendly design and construction of HVAC transmission lines. In the future, it is expected that public complaints and social environmental cost will be reduced by the use of TLCALC 2001.

  • 급전선과 직교된 전자기결합 마이크로스트립 다이폴안테나는 주로 주파수 영역의 적분방정식 및 모멘트법에 의해, 다이폴의 전류분포를 구하므로써 설계 및 해석이 이루어졌으나, 본 연구에서는 FDTD 방법을 이용하여 각 다이폴의 전류분포를 직접 계산하여, 전자기결합 다이폴 배열안테나의 설계 및 해석 가능성을 제시하였다. 이 경우, 맥스웰방정식 적분형을 유한차분형태로 표현한 수식을 적용하였으며, 계산된 각 다이폴의 전류분포에 의해 복사전계를 구하므로써, 표면전류 및 자류밀도를 계산하여 복사패턴을 구하는 방법에 비해 계산과정과 시간이 크게 단축됨을 보였다.

  • As the industry develops, they are interested in the fault of electric machines and the effect on human beings by electromagnetic fields and waves which generate through much use of electric machines and appliances. In foreign country, they confirmed the standard about electromagnetic interference and compatibility(EMI/EMC) of electromagnetic fields and waves generating electricity transmission/distribution equipments and electric appliance. In Korea, such criteria are applied too. Before EMI/EMC standard is applied, it is important to prepare the plan to predict and reduce electromagnetic fields and waves which generate in the inner and the outer part of electric machinery. To solve such a problem, they calculated Maxwell's equations by finite element method(FEM) and finite difference method(FDM) in most papers. However, these methods have the disadvantage that mathematical expansions are complex and need much memory allocations for grid and mesh generations. In this paper, we introduce transmission line matrix(TLM) method that media of which trains consists are regarded as transmission lines for electromagnetic field calculation in Korean High Speed Train, calculate the electric and magnetic field, and analyze the results.

합성형 반강자성 결합 재료의 자기장 세기에 따른 토오크 신호 분석 (Magnetic Field Dependence of Torque Signals in Synthetic Antiferromagnetic Coupled CoFeB/Ru/CoFeB Thin Film)

  • 본 연구에서는 합성형 반강자성 결합 특성을 갖는 CoFeB/Ru/CoFeB 박막 재료에서 자화용이축에서 측정한 플롭자기장($H_F$)과자화곤란축에서 측정한 포화자기장(Hs)을 경계로 달라지는 토오크 신호를 분석하였다. HF의 자기장 세기에서 음의 일축이방성 특성이 최소가 되며, 이는 반강자성 결합에 의한 자화 상쇄 효과로 강자성층의 자화용이축이 곤란축과 같은 역할을 하기 때문이다. $H_F$ < H < $H_s$의 자기장의 세기에서는 두 강자성층이 형성한 자화방향의 사이각이 증가하면서 쌍축이방성 특성을 유도시킨다. 이러한 쌍축이방성 유도 특성은 두 강자성층의 자화가 서로 수직이 되는 자기장의 세기에서 최대가 된다. 한편 자기장의 세기가 $H_s$ 이상에서는 CoFeB의 고유한 일축이방성 특성을 보인다. 이러한 자기이방성 특성은 두 강자성층의 반강자성 결합에 의한 자화 특성을 반영하고 있음을 Stoner-Wohlfarth 모델 분석을 통하여 알 수 있다.

NiFe/Co/Cu/Co 스핀밸브 자기저항 메모리 셀에서 형상자기이방성이 메모리 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Shape Anisotropy on Memory Characteristics of NiFe/Co/Cu/Co Spin Valve Memory Cells)

  • 보자력의 차이는 나타내는 NiFe(60$\AA$)/Co(5$\AA$) 두 자성층으로 구성된 NiFe(60$\AA$)/Co(5$\AA$)/Cu(40~60$\AA$)/Co(30$\AA$) 스핀밸브 박막을 일반적인 사진식각 공정을 사용하여 $\mu\textrm{m}$크기의 자기저항 메모리 셀로 패턴하고, 형상자기이방성이 자기저항 메모리 셀의 스위칭 특성에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 자기저항 메모리 셀의 출력 및 스위칭 특성은 셀의 크기에 따라 1mA의 일정한 전류와 30 Oe 이내의 스위칭 자장에서 수 ~ 수십 mV의 출력 전압을 나타내었다. 특히, NiFe/Co/Cu/Co 스핀밸브 박막의 증착시 기판에 의해 유도된 결정성에 의한 일축자기이방성과 스핀밸브 박막을 직사각형 형태의 셀로 패턴할 때 부가되는 형상자기이방성의 크기 및 방향을 적절히 조절함으로써, 메모리 셀을 구성하는 NiFe/Co 층의 스위칭 자장을 약 1/3로 감소시킬 수 있었으며, 이는 자기저항 메모리 셀의 크기가 서브마이크론 범위로 감소될 때 발생하는 스위칭 자장의 증가 문제를 해결하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

Hysteresis Loops, Critical Fields and Energy Products for Exchange-spring Hard/soft/hard Trilayers

  • Macroscopic hysteresis loops and microscopic magnetic moment distributions have been determined by a three-dimensional (3D) model for exchange-coupled Sm-Co/${\alpha}-Fe$/Sm-Co trilayers with in-plane collinear easy axes. These results are carefully compared with the popular one-dimensional (1D) micromagnetic models and recent experimental data. It is found that the results obtained from the two methods match very well, especially for the remanence and coercivity, justifying the calculations. Both nucleation and coercive fields decrease monotonically as the soft layer thickness $L^s$ increases while the largest maximum energy product (roughly 50 MGOe) occurs when the thicknesses of hard and soft layers are 5 nm and 15 nm, respectively. Moreover, the calculated angular distributions in the thickness direction for the magnetic moments are similar. Nevertheless, the calculated nucleation and pinning fields as well as the energy products by 3D OOMMF are systematically smaller than those given by the 1D model, due mainly to the stray fields at the corners of the films. These demagnetization fields help the magnetic moments at the corners to deviate from the previous saturation state and facilitate the nucleation. Such an effect enhances as $L^s$ increases. When the thicknesses of hard and soft layers are 10 nm and 20 nm, respectively, the pinning field difference is as large as 30%, while the nucleation fields have opposite signs.
