전자기 액튜에이터를 이용한 1/4차량 모델의 능동 진동 제어에 관한 연구 (Active Vibration Control of 1/4 Vehicle Model using Electro-magnetic Actuator)

  • In this study, quarter vehicle model is used to analyse vibration control effects for ride comfort and handling safety according to this three kinds of control methods, which are the modal control, the sky-hook control and the linear viscous damping control. We performed theoretical analysis and experiments and compared two results. In experiments, electro-magnetic actuator was employed as a force actuator. It is shown that all three methods can effectively control the vehicle model. The modal control method gives similar control results using gain less than the viscous damping control.

  • This paper formulates the principle of the magnetic actuator break system (MASS) for emergency situation driving a car. When the exciting break system of a car is broken, MASS will be able to stop the car by the electric system. MASS controls the rotating wheel to slow down gradually while holding and laying the wheel down several ten times per second. We present the magnetic field and dynamic behavior analyses for the magnetic actuator break system using finite element method (FEM) associated with parameter, for calculating the displacement of the moving parts and the supplying current.

Magnetically Suspended Contact-Free Linear Actuator for Precision Stage

  • With the development of precision manufacturing technologies, the importance of precision positioning devices is increasing. Conventional actuators, dual stage or mechanically contacting type, have limitation in coping with performance demands. As a possible solution, magnetic suspension technology was studied. Such a contact-free system has advantages in terms of high accuracy, low production cost and easy adaptability to high precision manufacturing processes. This paper deals with magnetically suspended multi-degrees of freedom actuator which can realize large linear motion. In this paper, the operating principle is explained with the magnetic force analysis, and the equations of motion are derived. Experimental results of the implemented system are also given.

  • Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) is one of the most promising candidates for high density magnetic storages over 1 Tb/$in^2$ areal density. Since the precise light delivery to the head is a key factor to realize HAMR application, it is required to establish the light delivery using micro laser module and micro actuator. For the careful control of micro actuator, a laser module was designed including laser diode, optical fiber, collimating lens, and fabricated V-groove substrate. In addition, the basic aligning method between the laser module and HAMR head was studied by the detection of current change in photo diode due to the amount of reflected light from the head.

  • In this paper, an actuator model of the thrust magnetic bearing for the flywheel energy storage is derived using magnetic circuit theory. And we compared this result with finite element magnetic field analysis result. Based on the actuator model, we made a simulation model of the thrust magnetic bearing system. We showed the closed loop transfer function and sensitivity function of the thrust magnetic bearing system using both the simulation model and the experiment. The experimental result at rotation velocity 18,000rpm of thrust magnetic bearing system is included.

  • Magnetostrictive actuators have seen increasing use in fine positioning system because it has many advantages such as friction free, resolution of ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ or nm scale, and powerful output force. Usually, the magnetic circuit of magnetostrictive actuator has components which are flux return path, coil, and magnetostrictive material. It is classified in two types according to existence of the permanent magnet. The magnetic circuit having optimal performances transfer magnetic field which is obtained by providing input current at coil without energy loss. This paper described mathematical model of magnetic circuit for getting design variables. The modeling equation is obtained from the relations between flux and reluctance of the magnetic equivalent circuit. Also, finite element analysis has been used to study the performance of magnetic circuit according to change of design variables such as existence and shape of the permanent magnet, flux return path etc. The modification of dimensions enables us to optimize magnetic circuit.

  • Recently the trends in information storage devices need small size, mobility, high capacity, and low power consumption etc. To satisfy those, the development of high performance actuator is an important issue. Compared with general linear actuator for optical disk drive, swingarm type rotary actuator is suitable to design in small form factor and has fast access time for random access. Swingarm actuator is designed considering the structural problem and the actuating force of VCM(Voice Coil Motor). The increase of mass caused by optical components makes vibration problems of swing-arm, therefore resonance frequency should be increased and inertia has to be reduced. ANSYS FEM tool is employed in optimizing swingarm. The VCM is designed using 3-D electro-magnetic analysis, and parameters of magnetic circuit are determined to matte large flux density. The large flux density enables to achieve low power consumption. VCM holder is designed to get the mass balance of total actuator and this balance reduces the magnitude of critical mode relative to pivot bearing, It is expected that swingarm type rotary actuator designed by this method is available to variable type of micro optical disk drives.
