The current society, namely information society is now moving to a specific topic which is SMART. In this sense, recently a variety of social areas including communications and SOC domains are moving fast to this topic. In Korea, The electric power area has been doing a pioneering job relatively successfully and the water supply area is just now taking the first step. The purpose of this research is to develop a technical Framework for Smart Water Grid Service. Related researches has been studied and the 4 constituting technical element areas were defined first. For each of the four areas, a framework modeling was fulfilled and as a result, a TRM(Technical Road Map) was suggested for each of the area. Finally, an Enterprise TRM covering all of the 4 areas was described. Furthermore, the currently suggested Framework model was compared to a related model and it was found that the integration of the models is desirable to wholly cover from Macro to Micro level applications and services. It is expected that the current approach contribute, more or less, to the smart implementation in the areas of water management.
Although both ecosystem theory and empowerment have become the most prevalent candidate for integrated paradigm for social welfare practices, they could not overcome completely the long-standing and sharp divides between micro and macro practices, that is, between subject and structure as a main explanatory element in social welfare realm. Along with such traditional dualism and tension, a new emerging divide between modernism and postmodernism regarding intrinsic mission and roles of social welfare has urged strongly to develop the overarching theoretical framework for social welfare practice. In this regard, this study aims to recast the ecosystem theory and empowerment through the reflexive modernization theory of critical sociologist Anthony Giddens. With relatively strong emphasis on human capability coined as the reflexivity, Giddens's own creative theory of modernization can be thoroughly expected to provide a solid foundation of integrated paradigm enough to bridge the existing dualisms in social welfare theory and practice. Especially, his unique account of integrated way of how human agency is involved in the construction of social structure and how to transform each other recursively has profound implication for empowerment to be adequate and proper comprehensive framework for social welfare practice.

A fabric of soil media may change due to certain factors such as dissolution of soluble particles, desiccation, and cementation. The fabric changes affect the mechanical behavior of soils. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of geo-material dissolution on shear strength. Experiments and numerical simulations are carried out by using a conventional direct shear and the discrete element method. The dissolution specimens are prepared with different volumetric salt fraction in sand soils. The dissolution of the specimens is implemented by saturating the salt-sand mixtures at different confining stresses in the experimental study or reducing the sizes of soluble particles in the numerical simulations. Experimental results show that the angle of shearing resistance decreases with the increase in the soluble particle content and the shearing behavior changes from dilative to contractive behavior. The numerical simulations exhibit that macro-behavior matches well with the experimental results. From the microscopic point of view, the particle dissolution produces a new fabric with the increase of local void, the reduction of contact number, the increase of shear contact forces, and the anisotropy of contact force chains compared with the initial fabric. The shearing behavior of the mixture after the particle dissolution is attributed to the above micro-behavior changes. This study demonstrates that the reduction of shearing resistance of geo-material dissolution should be considered during the design and construction of the foundation and earth-structures.
A new circulating hydroponic system was invented for oriental melons grown in the greenhouse. For developing nutrient solution management techniques, we examined the changes of nutrient contents of circulating solution in three different types of new hydroponic systems. The yield and fruit quality of oriental melons in Hydroponics were better than those in soil culture. The substrate culture was appropriate fer hydroponics of oriental melons, and NFT was turned to be the opposite due to the physiological disorder during hot seasons. Yamazaki's melon solution with EC 2.0dS.m$^{[-10]}$ was the most appropriate for oriental melons. The new circulating hydroponic system seemed to be appropriate for oriental melons because of the stable EC, pH and the macro- and micro-element contents. NO$_3$-N, Ca and Mg contents in the circulating solution kept a good balance in all types of hydroponics. However, p content, compared to other types, decreased by the degree of 1 me.L$^{[-10]}$ in perlite medium. K content showed irregular status in perlite but showed the stable status in cocopeat. Generally, microelements, except Mo, showed stable absorption in the substrate culture. However, in NET, most of the elements showed irregular absorption except B and Mn. Microelement absorption, especially Cu, Zn and Mo, decreased during hot seasons.

The purpose of this study was carried out to investigate the cause of sulfur dioxide occurrence, general element composition, sulfur compounds, heavy metals, macro- & micro-minerals, and oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) following baking time course of RS (RS1, RS2, RS3, and RS4) and mudflat solar salts (MSS). Sulfur dioxide ($SO_2$) and sulfite ($SO{_3}^{2-}$) were not detected in MSS or RS. However, sulfate ($SO{_4}^{2-}$) content significantly decreased in RS (29,878.15~36,097.45 ppm) compared to that in MSS (35,601.65 ppm). ORP was 181.15 mV in MSS, and 58.55 mV in RS1. Moisture content was 9.34% in MSS and 0.00% in RS with increased NaCl (94.77~95.77%). Moisture and NaCl contents showed no significant difference in RS. Insoluble and sandy residues were higher in RS than in MSS, whereas Ca and K showed no significant difference. Mg and Cl contents were higher in RS than in MSS. Br level was higher in MSS (628.1 ppm) than in RS (512.72~586.62 ppm), but there was no significant difference in $NO_3$. Heavy metals (Pb, As, and Hg) were more abundant in RS than in MSS, but levels were still safe. These results suggest that MSS and RS may increase protection against from $SO_2$ and $SO{_3}^{2-}$.
Objective of this Research was to determine the influence of foliar application of $CaCl_2$ or $K_2SI_2O_5$ and soil application of $CaCO_3$ or $SiO_2$ on growth and cut flower quality of Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Wedding March'. To achieve this, $CaCl_2$ or $K_2SI_2O_5$ were applied at six leaf stage with the concentration of 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2% and $CaCO_3$ or $SiO_2$ were applied as basal fertilization with the amount of 100, 200, 400kg per 10a or 50, 100, 200, 400kg per 10a respectively. Plant material was used Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Wedding March'. Among calcium chloride($CaCl_2$) and calcium carbonate($CaCO_3$), calcium chloride foliar application was more effective than calcium carbonate with basal fertilization to growth of common calla 'Wedding March'. In the 0.1% solution foliar application of calcium chloride, plant height, leaf length and length of cut-flower was more longer than control. Length of leaf petiole was more longer and leaf fresh weight was more heavier than control. The degree of petiole hardness was more effective in the 0.1% solution calcium chloride foliar application than any other treatment. In the silicate fertilization treatment, plant height of 50kg per 10a treatment was most highest as 73.9cm. also its length of leaf petiole and leaf fresh weight was more effective than any other treatment. The hardness of petiole was better in the 50kg per 10a silicate fertilizer treatment. The cell shape of leaf petiole was round and tissue was regular in the treatment of 0.1% calcium chloride and 50kg per 10a silicate fertilizer but the cell of control was irregular round type. Macro element content of calcium was more amount in the treatment of silicate 50kg per 10a basal fertilization. The infected ratio of Erwinia was no relation with lime and silicate fertilizer treatment. Lime fertilizer treatment is effective for growth and flowering of Calla than silicate fertilizer and the suitable concentration was 0.1%.

Investigation of the optimum levels of pre-plant nitrogen for raising of hot pepper (cv. Nokkwang) plug seedlings was the objective of this research. To achieve this, the pre-plant nitrogen levels were varied to 0, 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000, and $1,500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ and the other essential nutrients were controlled to equal concentrations in all treatments. All the fertilizers were added during the formulation of the mixed medium of coir dust, peatmoss, and perlite with the ratio of 35, 35, and 30% (v/v/v). The root medium containing pre-plant fertilizer was packed into 50-cell plug trays and seeds were sown. The measurement of pH and EC in every week, soil solution analysis for nutrients in week 0, 3, and 7 and growth measurements as well as tissue analysis for nutrient contents in week 7 were conducted. The pHs measured before seed sowing did not show significant differences, but the differences among treatments became significant as seedlings grow bigger. The soil solution ECs were significantly different among treatments in week 0 and these differences were diminished by degrees after week 3, resulting in no significant differences among treatments in week 7. The trends in changes of $NH_4-N$, $NO_3-N$, and other the macro-element concentrations in soil solution of root media were similar to those of ECs. The treatments of 500 and $750mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ N were more effective than other treatments on seedling growth. The seedling growths in the treatments containing higher N than $1,000mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ and control were severely suppressed. The elevated pre-plant N concentrations in the root medium resulted in the increase of tissue N contents. The treatments of 500 and $750mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ N shown the highest seedling growths had 5.13% and 5.31%, respectively, in tissue N contents based on the dry weight of above ground tissue at week 7. The results of this study indicated that the optimum level of pre-plant N is 500 to $750mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ for the raising of hot pepper plug seedlings.
This experiment was conducted to find out the effect of nutrient solution composition on the growth of cucumber plants and the changes in macro-elements in nutrient solutions in recirculating hydroponic systems. Cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L. cv. Joeun Baegdadagi) were grown in closed perlite cultivation systems supplied with different nutrient solutions developed by NHRS (National Horticultural Research Station in Japan), Yamasaki, PBG (Proefstation voor Bloemisterij en Glasgroente), and NIHHS (National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science in Korea). The concentrations of $NO_{3^-}N$, $Ca^{2+}$, $Mg^{2+}$, and $SO_{4^-}S$ in the recycled nutrient solutions increased but that of $NH_{4^-}N$ decreased gradually in all the treatments. The $PO_{4^-}P$ and $K^+$ concentrations were continuously reduced from the beginning of the harvest to the harvest peak period. There were no significant differences in the concentrations of $NO_{3^-}N$, $NH_{4^-}N$, and $Ca^{2+}$ in the recirculated nutrient solutions among four treatments, while the concentrations of $PO_{4^-}P$ and $K^+$ were lowest and those of $Mg^{2+}$ and $SO_{4^-}S$ were highest in the treatment of Yamasaki's nutrient solution. All growth-related parameters of cucumber plants except for leaf number were not significantly affected by the nutrient solution compositions. Due to its low concentrations of $PO_{4^-}P$ and $K^+$ in the recycled nutrient solution, however, the number and yield of cucumber fruits were lowest in the treatment of Yamasaki's nutrient solution.
Enormous amount of oyster-shell waste has been illegally disposed at oyster farm sites along the southern coast of Korea and then made a serious problem in environmental side. To increase the consumption of oyster shell meal as a soil amendment, the effects of oyster shell meal on soil properties and spring Chinese cabbage productivity were evaluated in silt loam soil to which 0, 4, 8, 12 and $16Mg\;ha^{-1}$ of oyster-shell meal fertilizer were added. Hydrated lime treatment ($2Mg\;ha^{-1}$) was selected as a control. Oyster-shell meal fertilizer, which made by a simple crushing and has high alkalinity as a calcium materials, had significant effects on neutralizing acid soil and on supplying calcium element. Spring Chinese cabbage yields increased with shell meal application. Plant uptakes of macro-nutrients such as P and C, and micro-nutrient such as B were significantly increased by oyster-shell meal application and then contributed to promote Chinese cabbage growth. The highest yield was achieved following the addition of $8Mg\;ha^{-1}$ shell meal application, and the same yield with that in lime treatment was at the $4Mg\;ha^{-1}$. Oyster-shell meal had more substantial effect on suppling calcium and on improving soil pH than that of lime. In conclusion, oyster shell meal fertilizer could be a good supplement to other inorganic soil amendments to improve nutrient balances in upland soils.

This research was conducted to evaluate the influence of $NO_3{^-}:NH_4{^+}$ ratios in fertilizer solution on the vegetative growth and fruit yield of hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) through pot cultivation. The Hoaglad's solution was modified to contain various $NO_3{^-}:NH_4{^+}$ ratios such as 100:0 (A), 73:37 (B), 50:50 (C), 27:73 (D), 0:100 (E), and no nitrogen (F). Plants were transplanted into root substrates and the modified solutions were applied as plant needed in plastic house. There were no statistical significances among the treatments from A through D in the fresh and dry weights, and number of leaves 31 days after transplanting, but elevation of $NH_4{^+}$ ratios in the solution decreased the fresh fruit weight 62 days after transplanting with statistical differences. In the results of inorganic element analysis based on the dry weight of fully expanded mature leaves, N and P contents as well as micro cations such as Fe, Mn, Zn, and Cu increased as $NH_4{^+}$ ratios were elevated 62 days after transplanting. However, those of macro cations such as K, Ca, and Mg resulted in decreasing tendency. The elevation of $NH_4{^+}$ ratios in fertilizer solution resulted in the increase of EC and total N concentrations ($NO_3{^-}+NH_4{^+}$), but this decreased the pH as well as Ca and Mg concentrations in soil solution 62 days after transplanting. The K concentration in soil solution was the highest in the treatments of C and followed by D, B, E, and A. The above results indicate that the proper $NO_3{^-}:NH_4{^+}$ ratio in the nutrient solution is 73:27 (B) or 100:0 (A) and the B solution is proper for the vegetative growth and that of A is proper for reproductive growth stage.
