셀 형태의 생산 시스템의 유연성 측정 모형 (Flexibility Measurement Model for Cellular Manufacturing Systems)

  • This paper suggests an approach to quantitative evaluation of a manufacturing flexibility in automated manufacturing systems. The flexibility of a cell is newly defined and evaluated in use of the environmental change factors which may influence flexibility for satisfying a manufacturing performance objective. The number of machines, the number of operations, machine breakdowns and processing times are considered for this cell flexibility measure. The cell flexibility measures the extent that the cell utilizes the processes to acquire high throughput. Simulation program written in SLAM System was used to help measure cell flexibility. The proposed cell flexibility measure provides a prediction of the influence of the factors on throughput performance, and applies in case of comparison of existing system and a new system, changes in operation conditions of a cell, and comparison of rival machines. Therefore it can be used as decision making criteria for system justification.

  • The demand for automatic manufacturing systems is increasing. Flexible Manufacturing System(FMS) is usually considered as a soluting for the shop floor automation. One of the difficulties in FMS is the communications problem. Since various machineries with different communications protocoles are included, applying a unified scheme is almost impossible. Therefore, a systematic approach is a key point to solve the communication problem. A cell is difined as an automation unit where closely related for a job reside together. A cell is a messenger between upper level computers and lower level machine equipment. In this research, the fonctions of the cell are defined to have more capabilities than conventional cells since a cell can be often a total manufacturing system is a small to medium sized factory. The cell conducts communications with different machines through the communications schemes established here. A set of software system has been developed according to the defined communication. The software has been tested for a simulation and real experiments for proof.

  • Since the most exclusive machines of the modern industries which require the nano precision rates are evolved from the machine tools, the design of the stable machine tool structure is very critical. Exclusive machines for the modern industries such as semiconductor, solar cell and LED have surface machining processes which are similar to the face cutting and grinding of conventional machine tools. This study was initiated to stabilize a milling machine structure and further to help design those exclusive machines which have similar machining mechanisms. The vibrations inherent to the machine tool structures hurt the precision machining as well as damage the longevity of the structures. There have been numerous researches in order to suppress the vibrations of machine tool structures using the extra modules such as actuators and dampers. In this paper, the dynamic properties are analyzed to obtain the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a machine tool structure which reflect the main reasons of the biggest vibrations under the given operating conditions. And the feasibility of improving the stability of the structure without using any additional apparatus has been investigated with minor design changes. The result of the study shows that simple changes based on proper system identification can considerably improve the stability of the machine tool structure.

  • In optimizing the layout design of a multi-product assembly environment, tile analysis of the material flow is a vital ingredient. In flexible assembly systems, assembly time is usually very short thus the transfer time is relatively more important Therefore operations sequence must be so determined, that have no backtracking operations as possible as, It is important to form cells, so that they have no intercell movement in curring much processing delay, and to arrange machines as possible as densly. This study presents a independent cell formation method considering operation sequences and machine capacity in flexible assembly systems.

  • This study is to examine the safety by analizing the hardness of bed and the characteristic of vibration to improve basic efficiency of machine-tool of drill-cell which is a high line center. The mistake of existing design was shown through the analysis of 3-D and structure. The purpose of this study is to prevent from a problem which may happen after this and to produce more reliable machine-tool by carrying out and finding out an adequate countermeasure for bed at the cutting position.

  • The basic technology for a production system represented by design, machining, assembly, and inspection, is machining technology such as CNC machine tools. etc. Direct Numerical Control, that effeciently manages NC programs is developing into Distributed Numerical Control that increases the utilization of the machining cell. It has the ability of monitoring and control, in real time, for CNC and periperial equipment. In this study, we develop a Distributed Numerical Control system that has real time and multitasking operation capability for the machining cell with various CNC's. With the consideration of economy, generalization and extension, the system is interfaced with CNC machine tools and periperial device using RS-485 network and RS-232C communication methods.

Data-Driven-Based Beam Selection for Hybrid Beamforming in Ultra-Dense Networks

  • In this paper, we propose a data-driven-based beam selection scheme for massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems in ultra-dense networks (UDN), which is capable of addressing the problem of high computational cost of conventional coordinated beamforming approaches. We consider highly dense small-cell scenarios with more small cells than mobile stations, in the millimetre-wave band. The analog beam selection for hybrid beamforming is a key issue in realizing millimetre-wave UDN MIMO systems. To reduce the computation complexity for the analog beam selection, in this paper, two deep neural network models are used. The channel samples, channel gains, and radio frequency beamforming vectors between the access points and mobile stations are collected at the central/cloud unit that is connected to all the small-cell access points, and are used to train the networks. The proposed machine-learning-based scheme provides an approach for the effective implementation of massive MIMO system in UDN environment.

  • The discrepancies between theoretical values and measured data of PEFC(Proton Exchange Fuel Cell) is carried out for the machine tool power generation. Rudimental approach of theoretical fuel cell open circuit potential using Gibbs free energy is employed for the examination of PEFC module. The stack temperature, stack voltage and stack current are measured during the operation of PEFC module. It is found that stack voltage and current values show the pronounced discrepancy with the results calculated by Gibbs free energy approach. It is analysed that the discrepancy is due to activation polarization, concentration overvoltage and ohmic overvoltage.

  • This paper presents an efficient operational technique of material feeding process, trainning for multi-operations, machine conditions, and role of foreman and material-supplying man, for constructing the flexible assembly cells in the domestic electronic industries. And an practical method for computing the number of economical cells is also presented by the cost-effective model that compares the additional assembly machine requirement with the four reductive effects including WIP/finished goods inventory, the troubles in the assembly line, the opportunity loss for small order quantity, and amounts of production management due to the introduction of cell line. An case study is introduced in for a domestic electronic assembly line at the end.

  • 본 연구는 TPN (Time Petri Nets) unfolding을 이용하여 가공 machine과 세정 machine으로 구성된 FMC (Flexible Manufacturing Cell)의 WIP (Work In Process)를 분석하는 방법을 제시한다. 여기서, PN의 unfolding은 상태공간폭발이 발생하지 않는 concurrent system의 검증에 사용되는 순서기반 방법이다. 본 연구는 일반적으로 발생하는 순환상태 스케쥴 문제에서 가장 그 작업과정 시간을 최적화하기 위하여 원래의 net을 동일한 비순환 net으로 바꾸어 줄 수 있는 unfolding 개념을 기반으로 한 것이다.
