  • The m-isometry of a single operator in Agler and Stankus [3] was naturally generalized to the m-isometric tuple of several commuting operators by Gleason and Richter [22]. Some examples of m-isometric tuples including the recently much studied Arveson-Drury d-shift were given in [22]. We provide more examples of m-isometric tuples of operators by using sums of operators or products of operators or functions of operators. A class of m-isometric tuples of unilateral weighted shifts parametrized by polynomials are also constructed. The examples in Gleason and Richter [22] are then obtained by choosing some specific polynomials. This work extends partially results obtained in several recent papers on the m-isometry of a single operator.

  • An A-m-isometric operator is a bounded linear operator T on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ satisfying $\sum\limits_{k=0}^{m}(-1)^{m-k}T^{*^k}AT^k=0$, where A is a positive operator. We give sufficient conditions under which A-m-isometries are not N-supercyclic, for every $N{\geq}1$; that is, there is not a subspace E of dimension N such that its orbit under T is dense in $\mathcal{H}$.

  • The aim of this paper is twofold. Firstly, we introduce the concept of semi-partial isometry in a Banach algebra and carry out a comparison and a classification study for this concept. In particular, we show that in the context of $C^*$-algebras this concept coincides with the notion of partial isometry. Our results encompass several earlier ones concerning partial isometries in Hilbert spaces, Banach spaces and $C^*$-algebras. Finally, we study the notion of (m, p)-semi partial isometries.

  • The asymptotic Dirichlet problem for harmonic functions on a noncompact complete Riemannian manifold has a long history. It is to find the harmonic function satisfying the given Dirichlet boundary condition at infinity. By now, it is well understood [A, AS, Ch, S], when M is a Cartan-Hadamard manifold with sectional curvature $-b^2 \leq K_M \leq -a^2 < 0$. (By a Cartan-Hadamard manifold, we mean a complete simply connected manifold of non-positive sectional curvature.)

  • A bounded linear operator T on a complex separable Hilbert space H is called a two-isometry, if $T^{*2}T^2-2T^*T+1=0$. In this paper it is shown that every two-isometry is not supercyclic. This generalizes a result due to Ansari and Bourdon.

  • Let (M, $g$) be a compact oriented self-dual 4-dimensional Einstein manifold with positive sectional curvature. Then we show that, up to rescaling and isometry, (M, $g$) is $S^4$ or $\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}_2$, with their cannonical metrics.

  • We generalize a theorem of W. Benz by proving the following result: Let $H_{\theta}$ be a half space of a real Hilbert space with dimension $\geq$ 3 and let Y be a real normed space which is strictly convex. If a distance $\rho$ > 0 is contractive and another distance N$\rho$ (N $\geq$ 2) is extensive by a mapping f : $H_{\theta}$ \longrightarrow Y, then the restriction f│$_{\theta}$ $H_{+}$$\rho$/2// is an isometry, where $H_{\theta}$$\rho$/2/ is also a half space which is a proper subset of $H_{\theta}$. Applying the above result, we also generalize a classical theorem of Beckman and Quarles.

  • We consider a 3-dimensional Riemannian manifold M with a circulant metric g and a circulant structure q satisfying $q^3=id$. The structure q is compatible with g such that an isometry is induced in any tangent space of M. We introduce three classes of such manifolds. Two of them are determined by special properties of the curvature tensor. The third class is composed by manifolds whose structure q is parallel with respect to the Levi-Civita connection of g. We obtain some curvature properties of these manifolds (M, g, q) and give some explicit examples of such manifolds.

  • Let V be a vector space of dimension m over Q, and let (, ) be a non-degenerate bilinear form on V. Let r be the Witt index of V, and let $V = V' + V_0 + V"$ be the Witt decomposition, where $V_0$ is anisotropic and V', V" are paired non-singularly. Let H = O(m-r, r) be the isometry group of V, (, ), viewed as an algebraic group over Q. Let G = Sp(n) be the symplectic group of rank n defined over Q.ed over Q.
