음향 방출 신호와 히스토그램 모델링을 이용한 유도전동기의 베어링 결함 검출 (Bearing Faults Identification of an Induction Motor using Acoustic Emission Signals and Histogram Modeling)

  • 본 논문에서는 저속으로 회전하는 유도 전동기의 베어링 결함을 검출하기 위해 음향 방출 신호와 히스토그램 모델링을 이용하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 정규화된 결함 신호가 구성하는 히스토그램의 포락선을 모델링하여, 부분 상관 계수와 DET(Distance Evaluation Technique) 기법을 이용하여 결함 유형별 고유한 특징을 추출 및 선택한다. 추출된 특징을 SVR(Support Vector Regression) 분류기의 입력으로 사용하여 베어링의 내륜, 외륜 및 롤러 결함을 분류한다. 최적의 분류 성능을 위해 SVR 커널함수의 매개변수를 0.01에서 1.0까지 변화시키고, 특징 개수는 2에서 150까지 변화시키면서 실험한 결과, 0.64-0.65의 매개변수와 75개의 특징 개수에서 제안한 방법은 약 91%의 분류 성능을 보였고, 또한 기존의 결함 분류 알고리즘보다 높은 분류 성능을 보였다.

  • This paper propose a study on the Feed Characteristics of Twist Friction Driver. We are using Twist Friction Driving mechanism system. The system consists of Twist Friction Driver elements such as driving shaft, driven roller, Spring for pre-load, Air bearing guide, Servo motor, and measuring devices such as Encoder of Servo motor, Laser interferometer, LVDT . The Twist Friction driver is mechanically simple and very quiet at high speed, and has low pre-load. So The Twist Friction driver can materialize an ultra precision feed-resolution. The feed characteristics of the driver is determined by slip and angular error, backlash.

Investigation of Head-Disk Interactions at Ultra-low Flying HDI

  • In this work, head-disk interactions are studied when flying height becomes lower than laser bump height on the landing zone of a disk. With the reduction of the spinning speed in a spin stand, the flying height is decreased under the height of laser bumps. Conventional and padded pico sliders sweep between landing Bone and data zone and, then, the dynamic behavior of the pico sliders and head-disk impacts are investigated using AE and stiction/friction signals. After 200n cycle-sweep tests, bearing analysis and AFM analysis indicate that there are some signs of wear and plastic deformation in the landing zone of a disk, although AE and stiction/friction signals are not significantly changed during the sweep tests. The experimental results of this paper suggest that in CSS tests at component level, more rigorous examination methods of wear and plastic deformation might be necessary as flying height becomes getting lower.

  • Magnetic hard disk drive is continually being pushed to reduce head-disk spacing for higher recording densities. The current minimum spacing between the air-bearing slider and disk has been reduced to under 15 nm. In this work, it was investigated if flying height could be lowered under the height of laser bumps. With the reduction of the spinning speed, the flying height was decreased under the height of laser bumps. When a head swept between landing zone and data zone, the head-disk impact was monitored using AE and friction signals. It is demonstrated that magnetic hard disk drive could be operated without tribological failures under the height of laser bumps.

A6060의 미소 드릴링시 절삭조건이 Burr 형성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cutting Conditions on Burr Formation in Micro-drilling of A6061)

  • Theoretical and experimental studies on burr formation and deburring in many manufacturing processes have been actively pursued. Though micro-drilling has become more important in the production of precision parts such as PCB, air bearing, camera and nozzle, most studies on drilling burr formation have focused on the conventional drilling process. This paper describes burr formation process and the effect of cutting conditions such as spindle speed, feedrate and drilling depth per one step on burr formation in drilling A6061 with drills of diameter 1.0mm and 0.6mm. Experimental results showed that burr with cap were formed at relatively low feedrates, while petal burrs with several large burr fragments were formed at high feedrates. Burr height appeared to increase at the hight feedrates and lower spindle speeds. The effect of final cutting depth on burr height was negligible.

  • In this paper, experimental studies are mainly carried out for the evaluation of precision cutting performance of a machine tool spincle running at high speed with the low load, in consideration of the bending vibration characteristics. As a result a process in presented for the practical application in the machine tools industry to evaluate the cutting performance in design stage of spindles.

  • Dry sliding wear behavior of ultra-fine grained (UFG) plain low carbon dual phase steel, of which microstructure consists of hard martensite in a ductile ferrite matrix, has been investigated. The wear characteristics of the UFG dual phase steel was compared with that of a coarse grained dual phase steel under various applied load conditions. Dry sliding wear test were carried out using a pin-on-disk type tester at various loads of 1N to 100N under a constant sliding speed condition of 0.20m/s against an AISI 52100 bearing steel ball at room temperature. The sliding distance was fixed as 1000m for all wear tests. The wear rate was calculated by dividing the weight loss, measured to the accuracy of 10-5g by the specific gravity and sliding distance. The worn surfaces and wear debris were analyzed by SEM, EDS and profilometer. Micro-vickers hardness of the cross section of worn surfaces were conducted to analyze strain hardening underneath the contact surfaces. The wear mechanism of the UFG dual phase steel was investigated with emphasis on the unstable nature of the grain boundaries of the UFG microstructure.

  • Dry sliding wear behavior of low carbon dual phase steel, of which microstructure consists of hard martensite in a ductile ferrite matrix, has been investigated. The wear characteristics of the dual phase steel was compared with that of a plain carbon steel which was normalized at $950^{\circ}C$ for 30min and then air-cooled. Dry sliding wear tests were carried out using a pin-on-disk type tester at various loads of 1N to 10N under a constant sliding speed condition of 0.2m/sec against an AISI 52100 bearing steel ball at room temperature. The sliding distance was fixed as 1000m for all wear tests. The wear rate was calculated by dividing the weight loss measured to the accuracy of $10^{-5}g$ by the specific gravity and sliding distance. The worn surfaces and wear debris were analyzed by SEM, EDS and a profilomter. Micro vickers hardness values of the cross section of worn surface were measured to analyze strain hardening behavior underneath the wearing surfaces. The were rate of the dual phase steel was lower than the plain carbon steel. Oxidation on the sliding surface and strain hardening were attributed for the higher wear resistance of the dual phase steel.

  • Sliding wear mechanism of a high nitrogen austenitic 18Cr-18Mn-2Mo-0.9N steel has been investigated. Dry sliding wear tests of the steel were carried out at various loads of IN-10N under a constant sliding speed condition of 0.15m/s against AISI 52100 bearing steel balls. Solution ($1050^{\circ}C$) and isothermal aging ($900^{\circ}C$) heat treatments were performed on the steel and the effect of the heat treatments on the wear was investigated. Wear rates of the solution-treated steel specimen remained low until 5N load, and then increased abruptly at loads above 5N. The rates of isothermally aged specimens were low and increased gradually with the applied load. Worn surfaces, their cross sections, and wear debris of the steel specimens were examined with a scanning electron microscopy. Phases of the heat-treated specimen and the wear debris were identified using XRD. The transformed phase underneath a sliding track was investigated and analyzed using a TEM. Effects of the phase transformation during the wear and $Cr_{2}N$ precipitates formed during the isothermal aging on the wear of the austenitic steel were discussed.
