Acid- and pepsin-solubilized collagens were extracted from the skin of shark (Isurus oxyrinchus) and their physicochemical properties were characterized by amino acid analysis, SDS-PAGE, the composition of collagen types, solubility and denaturation temperature. Acid - and pepsin-solubilized collagens from shark skin had an imino acid of 188.8 and 186.2 residues/1,000 amino acids, respectively. SDS-PAGE showed two different${\alpha}$ chains ($\alpha1$ and $\alpha2$) and $\beta$-component. The component ratio of type I and V was 10:1, and the type III was not found. Solubility of acid-soluble collagen was low in the range of pH 6.0 to pH 11.0. On the other hand, pepsin-solubilized collagen showed a low solubility in the range of pH 7.0-9.0. Temperature for denaturation of acid- and pepsin-solubilized collagens were $25^{\circ}C$ and $27^{\circ}C$, respectively.

In this study, $(1-x)Pb(Mg_{1/2}W_{1/2})_{0.03}(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.09}(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})_{0.88}O_3+xCeMnO_3$ (x= 0~0.02) ceramics were prepared by Columbite precursor method. The phase structure, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties were systematically investigated. It was found that PMW-PNN-PZT possessed superior electrical properties due to its composition close to the MPB (morphotropic phase boundary). Coercive electric field of 10.05 [kV/cm] and density of 7.88 [$g/cm^3$] were obtained when the substitution amount of $CeMnO_3$ is x=0.02. In contrast, specimens with x=0.01 showed the mechanical quality factor($Q_m$) of 1,091 and the electromechanical coupling factor($k_p$) of 0.613.
Using low temperature and atmospheric pressure method, we synthesized Na, TPA-ZSM-5 with Si/Al ratio of about 100. We employed 27Al and 29Si MAS NMR spectroscopy and FT-IR to investigate the crystallization process as a function of time. The chemical shift depends on the initial composition of reactants and changes during the course of synthesis different from those reported by others earlier. However, the chemical shift of our final product showed in the range of typical ZSM-5. And the defect site was removed by the calcine. From XRD and SEM data, the formation of ZSM-5 was also confirmed.
Composition and process conditions for low temperature sintered NiCuZn ferrites were investigated, so as to fabricate multilayered chip inductor. The$Fe_2O_3$ deficiency for low temperature sintering was decreased with NiO contents of NiCuZn ferrites. The permeability of NiCuZn ferrites can be controlled in the range of 12~562 with the variation of NiO and $Co_3O_4$ contents. The $Q_{max} $ frequency of NiCuZn ferrites was decreased from 50 MHz to 3 MHz linearly with permeability increase from 60 to 560. The relation between the $Q_{max}$ frequency(Y) and permeability(X) of NiCuZn ferrites was expressed with the following empirical equation, logY=4.2-1.4logX.
The low-temperature pyrolysis of ABS, polyethylene (PE) and an ABS-polyethylene (ABS-PE) mixture was conducted in a batch reactor at $450^{\circ}C$. The conversion and the product yield were measured as a function of the reaction time with a variation of the mixture composition. The oil products formed during pyrolysis were classified into gas, gasoline, kerosene, gas oil and heavy oil according to the petroleum product quality standard of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. The pyrolysis conversion increases with an increase in the content of PE. The yield of the pyrolytic products was ranked as heavy oil>gas>gasoline>gas oil>kerosene as the content of PE in the mixture increases.
$LaBO_3$ (B = Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni) perovskites, the most common perovskite-type mixed ionic-electronic conductors (MIECs), are promising candidates for intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC) cathodes. The catalytic activity on MIEC-based cathodes is closely related to the bulk ionic conductivity. Doping B-site cations with other metals may be one way to enhance the ionic conductivity, which would also be sensitively influenced by the chemical composition of the dopants. Here, using density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we quantitatively assess the activation energies of bulk oxide ion diffusion in $LaBO_3$ perovskites with a wide range of combinations of B-site cations by calculating the oxygen vacancy formation and migration energies. Our results show that bulk oxide ion diffusion dominantly depends on oxygen vacancy formation energy rather than on the migration energy. As a result, we suggest that the late transition metal-based perovskites have relatively low oxygen vacancy formation energies, and thereby exhibit low activation energy barriers. Our results will provide useful insight into the design of new cathode materials with better performance.

In this study, we fabricated plate-type shunt resistors with thermal stability by parallelly connecting metal alloy plates with positive temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and carbon nanotube (CNT) plates with negative TCR. The metal alloy plates, which were prepared by alloying Cu and Mn with a composition of 91 wt% of Cu and 9 wt% of Mn, showed around $800ppm/^{\circ}C$ of TCR, and the CNT plates prepared from the CNT solution by using the vacuum filtration method showed around $-800ppm/^{\circ}C$ of TCR. The shunt resistor that was fabricated by stacking metal alloy plates and CNT plates in this work showed about $46.93ppm/^{\circ}C$ of TCR. Therefore, we conclude that a shunt resistor with low TCR can be realized by simply adjusting the TCR of the metal alloy only, because the TCR of the CNT plate has an identical value.

In this study, in order to develop the composition ceramics with the excellent electrocaloric properties, $(Pb_{0.88}La_{0.08})(Zr_{0.65}Ti_{0.35})O_3$ ceramics were fabricated by the conventional solid-state method. Electrocaloric effects of $(Pb_{0.88}La_{0.08})(Zr_{0.65}Ti_{0.35})O_3$ ferroelectric ceramics were investigated and discussed using the characteristics of P-E hysteresis loops at wide temperature range from room temperature to $220^{\circ}C$. The temperature change ${\Delta}T$ due to the electrocaloric effect was calculated by Maxwell's relations, and reached the maximum of ~0.19 at $190^{\circ}C$ under applied electric field of 30 kV/cm.

Experiments of RIE of tungsten films using SF$_{6}$ plasma were conducted to investigate the effect of process parameters on etch rate, uniformity, anisotropy, and selectivity. As power increased, the etch rate increased. Maximum etch rate was obtained at 200mtorr As interelectrode spacing increased the etch rate increased for P < 200mtorr while it decreased for P> 200mtorr. Etch rate was maximum at 20 sccm gas flow rate. As substrate temperature increased, the etch rate increased and activation energy was 0.046 eV. In addition, maximum etch rate was acquired at 20% $O_{2}$ addition. The etch rate slightly increased when Ar was added up to 20% while it continuously decreased when N$_{2}$ was added. Uniformity got improved as pressure decreased and was less than 4% for P <100mtorr. Mass spectrometer was utilized to analyze gas composition and S and F peaks were observed from XPS analysis with increasing power. The anisotropy was better for smaller power and spacing, and lower pressure and temperature. It improved when CH$_{4}$ was added and anisotropic etch profile was obtained when about 10% $O_{2}$ was added. The selectjvity was better for smaller power larger pressure and spacing, and lower temperature. Especially. low temperature processing was proposed as a novel method to improve the anisotropy and selectivity.

InAs nanowires were synthesized by a vapor-liquid-solid method with InAs powder. The composition and crystalline structure of nanowires were confirmed by energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), respectively. The thermal conduction of nanowires was investigated by the optical method using Raman spectroscopy: i.e., the local temperature on nanowire was determined by laser heating. As temperature increased, the Raman peaks are shifted to low frequency and broadened. The temperature dependent Raman scattering experiments was realized on InAs nanowires with different percentages of zinc-blende and wurtzite structure. The temperature dependence on the nanowire structure has been successfully obtained: the phonon scattering was more increased in InAs heretostructure nanowires, compared to the InAs nanowires with homostructure. The result strongly suggests that the thermal conduction can be effectively controlled by ordered interface without any decrease in electrical conduction.
