The growth and the film characteristics of heteroepitaxial $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ films growth by the Rapid Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition(RTCVD)method are described. For the growth of $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ heteroepitaxial layers, $SiH_4/GeH_4/H_2$gas mixtures are used. The growth conditions are varied to investigate their effects on the Si/Ge composition ratios, the interface abruptness and crystalline properties. The Si/Ge composition ratios are analyzed with the RBS and the SIMS techniques, and the interface abruptness are deduced from these data. The crystalline properties are analyzed from TEM pictures. The experimental data shows that the crystalline perfection is excellent at the growth temperature of as low as $650^{\circ}C$, and the composition ratios change linearly with $SiH_4/GeT_$$ gas mixing ratios in our experimental ranges. Boron doping experiments are also performed using 200 ppm $B_2H_6$ source gas. The doping profiles are measured with SIMS technique. The SIMS data shows that the doping abruptness can be controlled within about 200$\AA$/decade.

Many research groups have been manufacturing coated conductor by various processes such as PLD, MOD, and MOCVD, but the methods with production cost suitable for wide and massive application of coated conductor did not develop yet. Spray pyrolysis method adopting ultrasonic atomization was tried as one of the possible option. GdBCO precursor films have been deposited on IBAD substrate by spray pyrolysis method at low temperature and converted to GdBCO by post heat treatment. Ultrasonic atomization was used to generate fine droplets from precursor solution of Gd, Ba, and Cu nitrate dissolved in water. Primary GdBCO films were deposited at $500^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial pressure of 1 torr. After that, the films were converted at various temperatures and low oxygen partial pressures. C-Axis oriented films were obtained IBAD substrates at conversion temperature of around $870^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial pressures of 500 mtorr ~ 1 torr in a vacuum. Thick c-axis epitaxial film with the thickness of 0.4 ~ 0.5 ${\mu}m$ was obtained on IBAD substrate. C-axis epitaxial GdBCO films were successfully prepared by ex-situ methods using nitrate precursors on IBAD metal substrate. Converted GdBCO films have very dense microstructures with good grain connectivity. EDS composition analysis of the film showed a number of Cu-rich phase in surface. The precursor solution having high copper concent with the composition of Gd : Ba : Cu = 1 : 2 : 4 showed the better grain connectivity and electrical conductivity.

LTCC (Low temperature co-fired ceramic) package have been paid much attention due its good reliability, miniaturization, and application of silver paste with complex wiring and printing. Therefore, LTCC package has been expected to replace vulnerable plastic package in the field of high power LED device. Currently, LTCC ceramic package is mainly made up of aluminum oxide powder. In this study, zinc oxide powder is added or replaced for the fabrication of LTCC ceramic body. By adding small amount of ZnO, thermal conductivity of the LTCC ceramic body could be remarkably increased by 25% leading to the extension of LED life time. The LTCC package structure with composition including ZnO has an increased thermal flux by 56% as a result of ANSYS simulation. Actually, the fabricated LED package with the addition of ZnO exhibits a decreased thermal resistivity by 14.9%.
Pseudo capacitors belong to one group of super capacitors which are consisted with non carbon based electrodes. As such, conducting polymers and metal oxide materials have been employed for pseudo capacitors. Conducting polymer based pseudo capacitors have received a great attention due to their interesting features such as flexibility, low cost and ease of synthesis. Much work has been done using liquid electrolytes for those pseudo capacitors but has undergone various drawbacks. It has now been realized the use of solid polymer electrolytes as an alternative. Among them gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) are in a key place due to their high ambient temperature conductivities as well as suitable mechanical properties. In this study, composition of a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) based GPE was optimized and it was employed as the electrolyte in a pseudo capacitor having polypyrrole (PPy) electrodes. GPE was prepared using ethylene carbonate (EC), propylene carbonate (PC), sodium thiocyanate (NaSCN) and PAN as starting materials. The maximum room temperature conductivity of the GPE was $1.92{\times}10^{-3}Scm^{-1}$ for the composition 202.5 PAN : 500 EC : 500 PC : 35 NaSCN (by weight). Performance of the pseudo capacitor was investigated using Cyclic Voltammetry technique, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) technique and Continuous Charge Discharge (GCD) test. The single electrode specific capacity (Cs) was found out to be 174.31 F/g using Cyclic Voltammetry technique at the scan rate of 10 mV/s and within the potential window -1.2 V to 1.2 V. The same value obtained using EIS was about 84 F/g. The discharge capacity ($C_d$) was 69.8 F/g. The capacity fade over 1000 cycles was rather a low value of 4%. The results proved the suitability of the pseudo capacitor for improving the performance further.
Tetragonal zirconia polycrystals (TZPs) doped with $Y_{2}O_{3}$ and $Nb_{2}O_{5}$ were prepared by the conventional sintering to enhance fracture toughness and phase stability of TZPs without controlling the grain size. TZP composites were obtained by adding the transformable TZP to the non-transformable TZP in wt%. The monolithic tetragonal $ZrO_2$, same as the composite composition containing 15 wt% transformable TZP, sintered at $1550^{\circ}C$ for 10h in air, exhibited the fracture toughness of 9$MPam^{1/2}$ and no low-and high-temperature degradation at temperatures in the range of 220 to $1000^{\circ}C$ for 100h in air. The corresponding single composition was 90.24 mol% $ZrO_2$-5.31 mol% $Y_{2}O_{3}$-4.75 mol% $Nb_{2}O_{5}$. The microstructure observation revealed that the t-$ZrO_2$ grains grew grandually with sintering time and no microcraking and twinning were observed.

Pretreatment of eliminating FFA is needed to make biodiesel from animal fat recovered from leather wastes because its acid value is high. This study was carried out to investigate the influence of 4 different pretreatment methods, which are heterogeneous catalyst method, ion exchange resin method, low pressure.high temperature method, and alkali method on the eliminating FFA and fatty acid composition. The results showed that the rate of eliminating FFA increased in the order of alkali method > catalyst method > low pressure high temperature method > ion exchange method. In the case of pretreatment of alkali method using NaOH, the rate of eliminating FFA appeared more than 86% regardless of acid value. Therefore, it was considered that alkali method using NaOH was the most effective in the view of economical and productive aspects, taking it into account that the acid value of animal fat recovered from fleshing scrap generated during leather making processes was 7 to 8.

In this study, the microwave dielectric property variations of (1-x)$BiNbO_4-(x)ZnNb_2O_6$ composites (x=0.3, 0.5 and 0.7) with 10wt% zinc borosilicate(ZBS) glass was investigated as a function of the substitution of $ZnNb_2O_6$ with a view to applying thes system to LTCC technology. The all composition addition of 10wt% ZBS glass ensured a successful sintering below $900^{\circ}C$. In addition, a small amount of $Bi_2SiO_5$ as the secondary phase was observed in the all composition. The substitution of $ZnNb_2O_6$ on the $BiNbO_4$ composites increased the $Q{\times}f$ values, but it decreased the sinterability and dielectric constant due to the high sintering temperature and low dielectric constant of $ZnNb_2O_6\;than\;BiNbO_4$ ceramics. The increasing of $ZnNb_2O_6$ content from 0.3 to 0.7 in the (1-x)$BiNbO_4-(x)ZnNb_2O_6$ composites with 10wt% ZBS glass sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ demonstrated 28.1~15.6 in the dielectric constant$({\varepsilon}_r)$, 5,500~8,700GHz in the $Q{\times}f$ value.
A series of amphiphilic graft copolymers were synthesized by varying the number of graft chains and graft chain lengths. The polarity of the hydrophobic graft chain on the copolymers was varied their solution properties. The glass transition temperature of the copolymers was in the low-temperature region, because of the amorphous nature of poly (trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC). The surface morphology of the lyophilized colloid gel had a bundle structure, which was derived from the combination of poly(N-hydroxyethylacrylamide)( poly(HEAA)) and PTMC. The solution properties were evaluated using dynamic light scattering and fluorescence measurements. The particle size of the graft copolymers was about 30-300 nm. The graft copolymers with a higher number of repeating units attributed to the TMC (trimethylene carbonate) component and with a lower macromonomer ratio showed high thermal stability. The critical association concentration was estimated to be between $2.2{\times}10^{-3}$ and $8.9{\times}10^{-2}mg/mL$, using the pyrene-based fluorescence probe technique. These results showed that the hydrophobic chain of the graft copolymer having a long PTMC segment had a low polarity, dependent on the number of repeating units of TMC and the macromonomer composition ratio. These results demonstrated that a higher number of repeating units of TMC, with a lower macromonomer composition, was preferable for molecular encapsulation.
This study aims to examine production technique of white wares from the Guyre-2ri 1st and 2nd kiln sites, Wonju, Gangwon Province and characteristics of the used materials, and to find a correlation among materials of the excavated white wares. X-ray fluorescence sequential spectroscopy(XRF), X-ray diffraction(XRD), Dilatometer and Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS), Inductively coupled plasma automic emission spectrometer(ICP-AES) were applied to determine the chemical composition, crystalline phase of samples, firing temperatures, trace elements and rare earth elements. White wares from the Guyre-2ri kiln sites contained high contents of coloring oxides and fluxes. Though firing temperature of each sample was different, they were mostly fired at a temperature below $1200^{\circ}C$ and some of them experienced a low temperature of $1000^{\circ}C{\pm}20^{\circ}C$ and a high temperature above $1200^{\circ}C$. When analyzing body crystalline phases of the white wares using the XRD method, quartz and mullite were extracted from all the samples, and the proportions were similar to each other. When analyzing the excavated white wares using the Seger formula, also, all the samples showed similar clay sources and production techniques. Moreover, the white wares were made of host rocks of the same geological origin, according to the result of rare earth elements analysis.
It was determined the effect of deodorizing temperature on forming amount and its composition of trans fatty acids by GLC in corn oil. Trans fatty acids were detected a trace amount at the low temperature deodorizing as 240~25$0^{\circ}C$, but it s amounts were showed to 0.30, 0.57, 0.64 and 0.81% at the high temperature deodorizing as 255~27$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. The isomerization phenomenon was remarkably in order that double bond number might to increase, tt, and ttt type were not detected nearly, that the ct, tc, cct and tcc type were detected to the large amount, respectively.
