Humidity Aging Effect on Adhesive Strength of Composite Single-lap Joint

  • Because adhesively bonded joints are used in many structural systems, it is important to predict accurate adhesive strengths. Composite aircraft with many joints are easily exposed to low temperatures and high relative humidity. This paper presents a humidity aging effect on the adhesive strength of a composite single-lap joint (SLJ). The adhesive strength of the SLJ is predicted using a finite element analysis with a cohesive zone model (CZM) technique. The humidity aging effect is evaluated based on the adhesive strength and CZM parameters. A lap joint test is carried out on the composite SLJ specimens, which are exposed for four months of 100% R.H. at $25^{\circ}C$. The predicted strengths are in good agreement with experimental data, and the actual crack propagation is satisfactorily simulated using the local CZM technique.

  • A capacitance-type humidity sensors in which porous silicon layer is used as humidity-sensing material was developed. This sensors was fabricated monolithically to be compatible with the typical IC process technology except for the formation of porous silicon layer. As the sensors is made as a mesa structure, the correct measurement of capacitance is expected because it can remove the effect of the parasitic capacitance from the bottom layer and another junctions. To do this, the sensor was fabricated using process steps such as localized formation of porous silicon, oxidation of porous silicon layer and etching of oxidized porous silicon layer. From completed sensors, capacitance response was measured on the relative humidity of 25 to 95% at room temperature. As the result the measured capacitance showed the increase over 300% at the low frequency of 120Hz, and showed little dependence on the temperature between 10 to $40^{\circ}C$.

  • In this study, $TiO_2$ thin films are fabricated by Sol-Gel method and dielectric, electric and humidity sensing properties have been investigated. The structure of Sol can be changed by controlling for hydrolysis reaction condition. The uniformity of the surface on $TiO_2$ thin films is confirmed by SEM. The permittivity of $TiO_2$ thin films increases according to heat treatment temperature, whereas the conductivity of $TiO_2$ thin films decreases according to heat treatment temperature, As the results of measuring humidity sensing properties of $TiO_2$ thin films fabricated as humidity sensor, it is confirmed to have good humidity sensing properties in high humidity and low frequency.

  • The polypyrrole prepared with pyrrole monomer, APS and DBSA was synthesized by chemical Polymerization at $V^{\circ}C$ under atmosphere conditions. After dissolving polypyrrole powder to the chloroform including DBSA, polypyrrole film was prepared on the alumina substrate with an interdigitated electrode by using the dip-coating method. This film was soaked in methanol solvent for 1 h at room temperature and heated to $70^{\circ}C$ for 4 h in $N_2$. Initial resistance was increased with the increasing humidity and decreasing temperature. The sensitivity was increased with lower humidity and decreasing temperature. The best linearity was achieved at $25^{\circ}C$ and low humidity of 0%.

시설원예용 제습기 개발 (Development of Dehumidifier for Protected Horticulture)

  • Relative humidity of air In the greenhouse has to be maintained at 70 to 80 percents to provide a better growth condition of crops. To control relative humidity of air in the greenhouse, a dehumidifier functioning by refrigeration cycle was designed and manufactured in this study. And, results of its performance test in the greenhouse site were reported. The developed dehumidifier has separated condenser and evaporator in the heat exchanger part in order to increase dehumidifying capacity at a low temperature condition. When the conditions of incoming air into the dehumidifier were temperature of $15\~25^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity of $0\~95\%$, quantity of condensed water per hour, ie, dehumidification rate was $4.7\~7.0\;kg/hr$. Relative humidity difference was not greater than 5 percents at various locations in the greenhouse due to proper distributing of dehumidified air through vinyl duct. Thermal energy output from the developed dehumidifier was about 8,5000 kcal/hr that was 7 percents of maximum greenhouse heating load of 10 a.

공정안전용 Polymer Blend형 습도센서의 특성 연구 (Preparation and Properties of Polymer Blends Type Humidity Sensor for Process Safety)

  • Conductive polymer blends and composites are widely used for different safety application such as electrostatic charge dissipation(ESD), electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding, electrostatic prevention and safety chemical sensor. In order to prepare a impedance-type humidity sensor that is durable at high humidities and high temperature, electically conductive polymer blends based on diallyldimethylammonium chloride(DADMAC) and epoxy were prepared in this study. The polymer blends type conductive ionomer exhibits reaction each other DADMAC and epoxy in FT-IR and DSC analysis. The blends material was traced by new peak at 1600cm-1 and appeard improvement of thermal resistance by melting point shift. Alumina substrate was deposited a pair of gold electrodes by screen printing. The blend material were spin-coated with a thin film type on the surface of alumina substrate. The polymer bleld type sensor exhibits a linear impedance increasing better than DADMAC coated humidity sensor. Also it shows good sensitivity, low hysteresis and durability against high humidity.

저장상대습도 및 온도에 따른 분말고추의 흡습특성(吸濕特性) (Sorption Characteristics of Red Pepper Powder with Relative Humidity and Temperature)

  • 분말고추를 상대습도 11%에서 84%까지 8단계의 RH조건별로 $15^{\circ}C,{\;}25^{\circ}C$$35^{\circ}C$ 온도구에 저장하면서 분말고추의 흡온특성(吸溫特性)을 조사하였다. 저장시간에 따른 분말고추의 흡습곡선은 RH57% 이하에서는 단시간내에 평형에 도달하여 수분함량의 변화가 거의 없었으나 RH75% 이상에서는 평형수분함량이 급격히 증가하여 갈변현상이 발생하였다. 분말고추의 단분자층(單分子層)의 수분함량은 온도에 따라서 11.32%에서 12.13%로서 온도가 하강함에 따라 다소 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 상대습도에 따라서 평형수분함량을 예측할 수 있는 1차 회귀방정식을 도출하였다

  • The control on temperature and humidity on the cow-house is essential to assure production efficiency and the control on disease of cows. Fog system and screen fence are typical methods to drop the temperature inside of cow-house during the summer season. This study focused on the change in temperature and humidity under the condition of application of those methods. The results indicate that the installation of atomizer and insulation curtain cause decrease in temperature and increase in humidity. However, Using both of methods at the same time doesn't make any additional meaningful effects on temperature and humidity.

저압조건에서 상추의 생육 특성 (Growth Characteristics of Lettuce under Low Pressure)

  • 본 연구는 저압 조건에서 작물의 생장 가능성을 검토하고, 작물 생장에 미치는 압력의 영향을 살펴보고자 수행되었다. 공시작물인 적치마상추종자(Lactuca sativa L.)를 일반 대기압조건에서 발아시켜 인공혼합 배지를 채운 50공 플러그트레이 절반에 정식하였다. 정식된 상추묘는 3수준의 압력조건(25, 50, 101.3 kPa)에서 처리 되었다. 모든 처리조건에서 광주기 16/8 h, 기온 26/$18^{\circ}C$, 광합성유효광양자속 $240{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$으로 유지하였다. 3수준의 압력 조건에서 생장된 상추의 생장조사는 처리 후 7일과 14일째에 이루어졌다. 7일째 생장조사 결과 25, 50, 101.3 kPa 처리조건에서 엽수, 뿌리길이, 지상부 건물율, 엽색의 hue값은 유의차가 인정되지 않았다. 엽장, 엽폭, 엽면적, 지하부 건물중은 101.3 kPa의 처리조건보다 25, 50 kPa의 처리조건에서 유의차가 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 14일째 생장조사 결과 엽장, 지상부 건물율, 지하부 건물율은 25, 50 kPa의 처리 조건에서 유의차가 인정되었다 7일째 생장조사 결과와는 다르게 25, 50, 101.3 kPa의 처리조건에서 엽수, 엽폭, 엽면적, 뿌리길이, 지상부 생체중, 지상부 건물율, 엽색의 saturation 값의 유의차가 인정되지 않았다. 상기의 결과로부터 25, 50 kPa의 저압조건에서도 상추의 재배가 가능함을 확인하였다. 한편, 작물로부터의 증산과 배양액으로부터의 증발로 말미암아 저압 챔버내의 상대습도가 높은 수준으로 유지되었고, 이로 인하여 저압 챔버 내부 표면에 응축수가 발생되었다. 이러한 응축수는 저압 챔버 내부로 투과되는 광양을 저하 시키므로 작물의 생장에 부정적인 영향을 미치게 된다. 그러므로 저압 챔버 내의 높은 상대습도를 적절한 수준으로 제어할 수 있는 기술 개발이 요청된다.

제주지역 직장어린이집 보육실의 겨울철 실내온열환경 실태 (Winter Indoor Thermal Environment Status of Nursery Rooms in Workplace Daycare Centers in Jeju Island)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the thermal environment status of nursery rooms in workplace daycare centers in Jeju and propose measures to improve their indoor physical thermal environment. For this purpose, measurements were performed in the winter indoor physical environment of 51 nursery rooms in 11 workplace daycare centers and a psychological evaluation survey on the thermal environment of nursery rooms was conducted for 70 nursery teachers. The investigation was carried out over 11 days in January 2017. The results are as follow. The average indoor temperature of the nursery rooms was $21.3^{\circ}C$($18.7-23.8^{\circ}C$) and the indoor temperatures of 47 nursery rooms (92.9%) were higher than the environmental hygiene management standard for domestic school facilities ($18-20^{\circ}C$). The average relative humidity was 33.9% (16.4-56.0%), and 37 nursery rooms (86.3%) showed a lower average relative humidity than the standard (40-70%). The average absolute humidity was $9.1g/m^3$ ($4.7-13.6g/m^3$), which was lower than the standard for preventing influenza ($10g/m^3$). When the indoor temperature and humidity of the nursery rooms were compared with international standards, it was found that 85% or more of the 51 nursery rooms maintained appropriate indoor temperatures, but 40-50% of the nursery rooms maintained a low humidity condition. Therefore, they need to pay attention to maintaining the appropriate humidity of the nursery room to keep the children healthy. The average indoor temperature of the nursery rooms showed a weak negative correlation with the average relative humidity. The indoor temperature had a significant effect on the relative humidity: a higher indoor temperature resulted in lower relative humidity. Regarding the fluctuations in the average indoor temperature of the nursery rooms during the day, in daycare centers that used floor heating, the indoor temperature gradually increased form the morning to the afternoon and tended to decrease during lunch time and the morning and afternoon snack times, due to ventilation. The daycare centers that used both floor heating and ceiling-type air conditioners showed a higher indoor temperature and greater fluctuations in temperature compared to the daycare centers that used floor heating only. In the survey results, the average value of the whole body thermal sensation was 3.0 (neutral): 32 respondents (62.7%) answered, "Neutral", Which was the largest number, followed by 21 respondents (30%) who answered, "Slightly hot" and 17 respondents (24.2%) who answered, "Slightly cold." Twenty-nine respondents answered, "Slightly dry," which was the largest number, followed by 28 respondents (54.9%) who answered, "Neutral" and 10 respondents (19.6%) who answered, "Dry." The total number of respondents who answered, "Slightly dry" or "Dry" was large at 39 (56.4%), which suggests the need for indoor environment management to prevent a low-humidity environment. To summarize the above results about the thermal environment of nursery rooms, as the indoor temperature increased, the relative humidity decreased. This suggests the effect of room temperature on the indoor relative humidity; however, frequent ventilations also greatly decrease the relative humidity. Therefore, the ventilation method and the usage of air conditioning systems need to be re-examined.
