  • The important elements influencing on the quality of make-up cosmetics are not only the ingredients themselves but also the cosmetic tool that delivers the ingredients. But sensory analysis by a has been used on a number of occasion. Therefore it is not reliable to apply the data to other products and not easy to identify the elements influencing the qualities of cosmetics. So we Intend to understand the elements influencing the quality of cosmetics and prepare the foundation by introducing objective measurement method. In this study, we fix the loose powder and make new loose powder puff. So we can accomplish objective measurement.

  • In the present investigation, it is attempted to derive a yield function and associated flow rules of loose metal powders to predict plastic deformation and density change during compaction. The loose metal powders yield by shear stress as well as hydrostatic stress and the yield strength is much smaller in tension than compression. Therefore, a yield function for the powders is expressed as a shifted ellipse toward the negative direction in the hydrostatic stress axis in the space defined by the two stresses. Each of parameters A, B and .delta. used in the yield function is expressed as a function of relative density and it is determined by uniaxial strain and hydrostatic compressions using Cu powder. Flow rules obtained by imposing the normality rule to the yield function are applied to the analyses of unidirectional, bidirectional and hydrostatic compressions, resulting in an excellent agreement with experiments. The yield function is further examined by checking volume changes in plane stain, uniaxial strain and shear deformations.

  • A new approach to sintering loose packed, coarse aluminum alloy powder to full or near full density is presented. A controlled amount of water vapor is introduced into the sintering atmosphere, which disru pts the oxide film and allows metallurgical contact between particles. In addition, supersolidus liquid phase sintering is used to sinter the part to full density. Since the method is particularly applicable to uncompacted powders, it is potentially useful for sintering aluminum powder preforms manufactured by 3DPrinting and powder injection molding.

  • The current study was conducted to identify the differences in the rheological properties of Chlorella sp. powder cultured in a fermentor and in a pond-like environment. Cells. cultured in the same media were harvested and spray dried. The biomass yield from the fermentor culture was 4.7% (dry basis), while that from the pond was 4.3% (dry basis). Measurements of the loose bulk density, tapping test, Hausner's ratio, and compressibility test all revealed differences between the rheological properties of the Chlorella sp. from the two cultivation systems. Although both the fermentor and pond cultured Chlorella sp. showed the same angle of repose, the mean size of the cells was 2.26 $\mu\textrm{m}$ and 2.89 $\mu\textrm{m}$, respectively. The weight of the Chlorella sp. tablets cultured in the fermentor and pond was 0.663 g/tablet and 0.593 g/tablet, respectively, while the friability of the tablets was 21% and 41%, respectively. Observation by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) showed that the cell wall of the Chlorella sp. cultured in the fermentor was thinner and more spherical than that cultured in the pond, thereby providing the main characteristic rheological properties of the powder.

  • The formation of $n-TiO_2$ powder by oxidation of Ti-ethoxied vapor in a flat flame burner reactor maintained under 20 torr has been studied. The produced powder were characterized in terms of crystal structure, chemical composition by XRD and TEM. The results showed that the powder consisted of loose agglomerated anatase and rutile particles and their size were about 10 nm and 20 nm, respectively. In the course of synthesis, changes of the flame color were happened to each condition during heating up the bubbler. The flame color transition phenomena reveled that a critical precursor delivery rate was needed for the powder formation (obtainable powder yield). The critical precursor delivery rate was estimated by a simple function of the bubbler temperature and the carrier gas flow rate. The critical precursor delivery rate was reviewed as an important variable of the nanopowder synthesis.

  • Nanostructured ceria powder was synthesized by a thermochemical process and investigated its applicability for an oxygen gas sensor. An amorphous precursor powders prepared by spray drying a cerium-nitrate solution were transformed successfully into nanostructured ceria by heat-treatment in air atmosphere. The powders were a loose agglomerated structure with extremely fine $CeO_2$ particles about 15 nm in size, resulting in a very high specific surface area $(110\;m^2/g)$. The oxygen sensitivity and the response time $t_{90}$ measured at sintered sample at $1000^{\circ}C$ was about -0.25 and very short, i.e., $3{\sim}5$ seconds, respectively.

  • It is considered that vermiculite as an inorganic material is highly effective when it is used as a building finishing material because it is eco-friendly. Vermiculite has excellent properties such as fire resistance, heat insulation, sound absorption as well as prevention of condensation, deodorization and aesthetics. In this study, we developed a finishing board with vermiculite as its main material and mixed with mineral loose wool (VB-L) or mineral powder (VB-P), and conducted fireproof test and insulation test. In addition, fire resistance tests were carried out by applying the two developed vermiculite boards as finishing materials for the standard wall details of light frame wood structures (KS F 1611-1). As a result of the fire resistance test, the VB-L specimen showed better fire resistance than the VB-P specimen. Both vermiculite boards showed sufficient fire resistance performance of 2 hours for a thickness of 30 mm.
