액체 소듐 순환 구동용 소형 환단면 선형유도전자펌프의 특성 분석 (Characteristic Analysis of a Small ALIP for the Developing of the Liquid Sodium)

  • EM (ElectroMagnetic) pump is used for the purpose of transporting liquid sodium coolant with electrical conductivity in the LMR(Liquid Metal Reactor). (In the present study, pilot EM pump has been designed by using of equivalent circuit method which is commonly employed to analyze linear induction machines for the test of removal of residual heat. The length and diameter of the pump have fixed values of 840 mm and 101.6 mm each by taking account of geometrical size of circulation loop for the installation of EM pump. Flowrate versus developing pressure is related from Laithwaite's standard design formula and the characteristic analyses of developing force and efficiency are carried out according to change of input frequency. From the characteristic curve, input frequency of 13 Hz is determined as the design frequency. On the other hand, The annular air gap size of 6.05 mm is selected not to bring about too much hydraulic loss. Resultantly design analysis makes pump have the electrical input of 604 VA and the hydrodynamical capacity of 1.3 bars and 40 l/min.

피드포워드 제어기를 사용한 동기발전기의 과도특성 개선 (Improvement of Transient Performance of Synchronous Generator using Feedforward Controller)

  • A brush-less type synchronous generator driven by an internal-combustion engine is used for emergency electric source. These types of generators have to maintain a certain range of output voltage even under the sudden load change conditions such as full load application and removal. This paper describes a method for suppressing the output voltage of a synchronous generator that operates excessively when the load fluctuates. The method used in this paper is a feedforward control method in which the main voltage control consists of a feedback loop using a typical PID controller and the load current is detected as a disturbance element and compensated directly. A feedforward system is constructed in which the load current is regarded as disturbance, and the appropriate feedforward controller configuration and parameters are found through simulation. Finally, it can be seen through the experiment that the feedforward control is performed properly. It can be seen that the generator terminal voltage is recovered to the steady state in a short period of time as compared with the existing PID control method even when the entire load of the generator is changed.

  • 심박동기는 동기능 부전 증후군에서부터 완전 방실차단까지 서맥의 치료에 가장 보편적으로 사용되는 중재적 치료다. 일반적으로 경정맥을 통한 심내 심박동기를 많이 사용하고 있으나 감염 및 혈전증, 박동기의 기능부전, 부정맥, 심근천공, 삼첨판 폐쇄부전증 등의 합병증이 발생할 수 있다. 심박동기의 감염은 전신감염으로 이행되어 환자 상태가 빠르게 악화될 수 있으므로 감염으로 의심되면 제거하는 것이 원칙이다. 추나 올가미 등을 이용한 방법등 비수술적인 방법외에도 체외순환을 이용한 적극적인 제거도 환자 상태에 따라 고려해야 할 것이다. 감염된 심박동기를 체외순환을 이용하여 제거한 두 개의 증례를 보고하는 바이다.

실리콘 표면처리에 있어서 이온교환 막에 의한 금속불순물의 제거공정 (Removal Process of Metallic Impurity for Silicon Surface Detergent by Ion Exchange)

  • HF purification performance of an ion exchange membrane(IEM) was evaluated with 0.5% HF spiked with 10ppb of Fe, Ni and Cu nitrates. The result show that after less than five turnovers through an IEM, the metallic impurity concentration drops below 1ppb. The decrease rate can be fitted to a model assuming the experimental tanks to be continuously stirred tank reaction and that the metallic impurity concentration after the IEM is a function of the single-pass purification efficiency of the membrane, the concentration before purification and the metals desorbed form the IEM. The Concentration after purification was investigated up to a cumulative Fe loading of 300ppb in the 23 liter recirculated loop. It increases linearly vs. cumulative loading and can be explained by the Langmuir theory resulting in a purification efficiency at the equilibrium of close to 99.5% in this loading regime.

  • The pressurized light water cooled, medium power (330 MWt) SMART (System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor) has been under development at KAERI for a dual purpose : seawater desalination and electricity generation. The SMART design verification phase was followed to conduct various separate effects tests and comprehensive integral effect tests. The high temperature / high pressure thermal-hydraulic test facility, VISTA(Experimental Verification by Integral Simulation of Transient and Accidents) has been constructed to simulate the SMART-P (the one fifth scaled pilot plant) by KAERI. Experimental tests have been performed to investigate the thermal-hydraulic dynamic characteristics of the primary and the secondary systems. Heat transfer characteristics and natural circulation performance of the PRHRS (Passive Residual Heat Removal System) of SMART-P were also investigated using the VISTA facility. The coolant flows steadily in the natural circulation loop which is composed of the steam generator (SG) primary side, the secondary system, and the PRHRS. The heat transfers through the PRHRS heat exchanger and ECT are sufficient enough to enable the natural circulation of the coolant.

Development of Anti-Melanogenic Agent for Skin Whitening

  • Many modalities of treatment for acquired skin hyperpigmentation are available including chemical agents or physical therapies, but none are completely satisfactory. The ideal depigmenting compound should have a potent. rapid and selective bleaching effect on hyperactivated melanocytes, carry no short- or long-term side-effects and lead to a permanent removal of undesired pigment. acting at one or more steps of the pigmentation process. Depigmentation can be achieved by regulating (i) the transcription and activity of tyrosinase, tyrosinase related protein-1 (TRP-1), tyrosinase related protein-2 (TRP-2), and/or peroxidase; (ii) the uptake and distribution of melanosomes in recipient keratinocytes and (iii) melanin and melanosome degradation and turnover of pigmented keratinocytes. One of the interesting point for development of skin whitening agent is Mitf(Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor). Mitf belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix-zip family of trabscription factors and it is crucial as it regulates both melanocyte proliferation as well as melanogenesis and is the major regulator of tyrosinase and the related enzymes (TRPs), as well as many melanosome structural proteins such as pMel17. Recently, we developed MITF-down-regulating agents from natural and synthetic sources, which have anti-melanogenic effect on in vitro and in vivo. We suggested that potent MITF-down regulating agents might be used for skin whitening cosmeceuticals.

중온혐기성소화조에서 외부 $CO_2$ Stripping을 이용한 In-situ 고순도 메탄회수 공정 개발 (In-situ Methane Enrichment System Coupled with External $CO_2$ Stripper in Mesophilic Anaerobic Digestion)

  • 본 연구에서는 고순도 메탄을 회수하기 위해서 Plug Flow Reactor와 External $CO_2$ Stripper를 결합한 중온 Methane Enhancement System을 개발하였다. 반응조 운전인자로서 알칼리도와 Leachate 순환율(LRR, Leachate Recycle Rate)이 바이오가스의 조성과 생성량 및 TVS 제거효율에 미치는 영향을 규명하였다. 고순도 메탄회수 공정 운전결과 OLR 2 g TVS/L-d, 알칼리도 4 g/L as $CaCO_3$, Leachate 순환율 3 v/v-d일 때 평균 94%의 높은 메탄함량을 나타내 고순도 메탄회수를 위한 최적조건임이 밝혀졌다. 이때 1일 반응조 단위 부피당 0.71부피의 메탄이 생성되었으며, TVS 제거율은 79%로서 Control Reactor의 94% 수준을 달성하였다.

실험실규모 고온고압건식탈황공정의 수력학적 특성 및 탈황온도에 따른 아연계 탈황제의 반응특성 연구 (A Study of Hydrodynamics and Reaction Characteristics in Relation to the Desulfurization Temperatures of Zn-Based Solid Sorbent in the Lab-scale High Pressure and High Temperature Desulfurization Process)

  • 본 연구에서는 고온고압 건식탈황장치를 이용하여 고체순환량과 탈황반응기 내의 공극률에 대한 수력학적특성을 파악하고, 아연계 탈황제의 고온고압 조건에서 탈황반응온도에 대한 반응특성 및 연속운전을 통한 탈황 효율을 분석하였다. 실험에 사용된 고온고압건식탈황장치는 고속유동층 형태의 탈황반응기(내경: 0.015 m, 높이: 6.2 m), 기포유동층 형태의 재생반응기(내경: 0.053 m, 높이: 1.6 m), 가스의 역흐름을 방지하는 loop-seal, 두 반응기 후단에 압력컨트롤밸브로 구성되어있다. 수력학 특성으로는 고체순환밸브 개구비, 탈황반응기 가스 유속, 탈황반응기 온도 변화에 따른 고체순환량과 각 조건에서의 고속유동층 형태의 탈황반응기 높이에 따른 공극률 분포를 알아보았다. 고체순환량은 동일한 유속조건, 동일한 고체순환밸브 개구비에서 탈황반응기 온도가 상온일 때보다 $300^{\circ}C$$550^{\circ}C$일 때 감소하였으며 $300^{\circ}C$$550^{\circ}C$ 조건에서는 큰 차이가 없었다. 탈황반응기내의 공극률은 고체순환밸브 개구비가 10~20%로 고체순환량이 적은 경우 고속유동층 형태의 공극률 분포를 보이고, 30~40%로 고체순환량이 많아지는 경우 탈황반응기 하부에서 turbulent 형태의 공극률의 분포를 나타냈다. 아연계 탈황제의 탈황반응온도에 따른 반응특성은 시스템 압력 20 atm, 연속 반응 조건에서 탈황 온도를 변화시키면서 살펴보았다. 일정한 고체순환 조건에서 탈황온도 $450^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 탈황 효율 저하가 시작되는 것을 확인하였으며, 높은 탈황 효율을 유지시키기 위하여 10시간 연속운전에서는 탈황 반응 온도를 $500^{\circ}C$로 설정하여 실험하였다. 실험 결과, 10시간 연속운전을 통해, 유입 $H_2S$ 농도 5,000 ppmv 조건에서 탈황 반응기 후단 $H_2S$ 농도는 UV분석기(Radas2)와 검지관(GASTEC)의 검출한계인 1 ppmv 이하를 유지하여 $H_2S$ 제거 효율 99.99% 이상을 달성하였다.

가압경수로의 부분충수 운전중 잔열제거계통 기능 상실사고시 가압기와 증기발생기 Manway 유출유로를 이용한 사고완화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Vent Path Through the Pressurizer Manway and Steam Generator Manway under Loss of Residual Heat Removal System During Mid-loop Operation in PWR)

  • 본 연구는 불란서 CEA에서 수행한 부분충수 운전 중 잔열제거계통 기능 상실사고 실험인 BETHSY 실험 6.9c를 CATHARE2 코드를 이용하여 분석하였다. BETHSY 6.9c 실험은 잔열제거 계통 기능상 실시 가압기와 중기발생기 출구공동의 Manway를 통해 노심에서 발생한 증기를 제거하여 계통의 가압 정도를 시험한 것이다. 연구의 주요목적은 사고발생시 예상되는 주요 물리적 현상의 이해와 과도기에 영향을 미치는 민감 변수를 확인하고 CATHARE2 코드의 예측능력을 평가하여, 실제원전의 유사사고 해석에 대한 신뢰성을 확보하는 것이다. 연구결과 CATHARE2 코드는 실험을 통해 관측된 주요 물리적 현상들을 타당하게 예측하였으나, 가압기와 밀림관의 DP를 과대 예측하여 원자로 상부공동의 최대압력을 실험보다 약 7kPa 높게 예측하였다. 노심 노출시간도 노심에서 기포율 분포를 비현실적으로 예측하여 실험보다 약 500초 지연되었다. 실험과 코드의 모의결과를 통하여 노심 노출은 중력주입에 의한 냉각수 보충만으로 충분히 회복될 수 있음을 확인하였다. CATHARE2 코드는 비록 상세한 현상들에 대해 다소 불화실성을 내포하였으나, 전반적인 거동분석에는 타당한 것으로 판단된다.

GNSS Software Receivers: Sampling and jitter considerations for multiple signals

  • This paper examines the sampling and jitter specifications and considerations for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) software receivers. Software radio (SWR) technologies are being used in the implementation of communication receivers in general and GNSS receivers in particular. With the advent of new GPS signals, and a range of new Galileo and GLONASS signals soon becoming available, GNSS is an application where SWR and software-defined radio (SDR) are likely to have an impact. The sampling process is critical for SWR receivers, where it occurs as close to the antenna as possible. One way to achieve this is by BandPass Sampling (BPS), which is an undersampling technique that exploits aliasing to perform downconversion. BPS enables removal of the IF stage in the radio receiver. The sampling frequency is a very important factor since it influences both receiver performance and implementation efficiency. However, the design of BPS can result in degradation of Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) due to the out-of-band noise being aliased. Important to the specification of both the ADC and its clocking Phase- Locked Loop (PLL) is jitter. Contributing to the system jitter are the aperture jitter of the sample-and-hold switch at the input of ADC and the sampling-clock jitter. Aperture jitter effects have usually been modeled as additive noise, based on a sinusoidal input signal, and limits the achievable Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). Jitter in the sampled signal has several sources: phase noise in the Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) within the sampling PLL, jitter introduced by variations in the period of the frequency divider used in the sampling PLL and cross-talk from the lock line running parallel to signal lines. Jitter in the sampling process directly acts to degrade the noise floor and selectivity of receiver. Choosing an appropriate VCO for a SWR system is not as simple as finding one with right oscillator frequency. Similarly, it is important to specify the right jitter performance for the ADC. In this paper, the allowable sampling frequencies are calculated and analyzed for the multiple frequency BPS software radio GNSS receivers. The SNR degradation due to jitter in a BPSK system is calculated and required jitter standard deviation allowable for each GNSS band of interest is evaluated. Furthermore, in this paper we have investigated the sources of jitter and a basic jitter budget is calculated that could assist in the design of multiple frequency SWR GNSS receivers. We examine different ADCs and PLLs available in the market and compare known performance with the calculated budget. The results obtained are therefore directly applicable to SWR GNSS receiver design.
