In recent years, according to the development of construction technique, the constructions of longer span bridges, taller buildings, deeper offshore structures, and other megastructures are calling for construction materials with increasingly improve properties. So, the demand for high-strength concrete(HSC) have been increased and many new structures have been built using HSC with the compressive strength about 100MPa. However, it is well-known that as the strength of concrete increases, concrete becomes more brittle. Recent studies, however, shown that the brittleness of HSC can be improved by adding some fibers to the concrete. Especially steel fiber reinforced concrete(SFRC) can be used in this case. Many research works have shown that SFRC results in better crack and deflection control, higher shear strength, improved fatigue performance, increased impact strength, reformed flexural strength, advanced fracture toughness and enhanced postcracking resistance. So, this is a study on the long-term response of SFRC applied to HPC about 40MPa. Therefore, in this study, the test results of twenty-six high-strength concrete specimens and steel fiber-reinforced concrete specimens, with steel fiber content of 1 $\%$ by volume were presented. And the results are analyzed by using of the factors of time, mix properties, humidity/temperature, and loading conditions.

The use of prestressed concrete box girder bridges built by segmentally balanced cantilevers has bloomed in the last decades due to its significant structural and construction advantages in complex topographies. In Colombia, this typology is the most common solution for structures with spans ranging of 80-200 m. Despite its popularity, excessive deflections in bridges worldwide evidenced that time-dependent effects were underestimated. This problem has led to the constant updating of the creep and shrinkage models in international code standards. Differences observed between design processes of box girder bridges of the Colombian code and Eurocode, led to the need for a validation of in-service status of these structures. This study analyzes the long-term behavior of the Tablazo bridge with data scarcity. The measured leveling of this structure is compared with a finite-element model that consider the most widely used creep and shrinkage models in the literature. Finally, an adjusted model evidence excessive deflection on the bridge after six years. Monitoring of this bridge typology in Colombia and updating of the current design code is recommended.

Prestress losses assumed for bridge girder design and deflection analyses are dependent on the concrete modulus of elasticity (MOE). Most design specifications, such as the American Association of State Highways and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) bridge specifications, contain a constant value for the MOE based on the unit weight of concrete and the concrete compressive strength at 28 days. It has been shown in the past that that the concrete MOE varies with the age of concrete. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of a time-dependent and variable MOE on the prestress losses assumed for bridge girder design. For this purpose, three different variable MOE models from the literature were investigated: Dischinger (Der Bauingenieur 47/48(20):563-572, 1939a; Der Bauingenieur 5/6(20):53-63, 1939b; Der Bauingenieur, 21/22(20):286-437, 1939c), American Concrete Institute (ACI) 209 (Tech. Rep. ACI 209R-92, 1992) and CEB-FIP (CEB-FIP Model Code, 2010). A typical bridge layout for the Dallas, Texas, USA, area was assumed herein. A prestressed concrete beam design and analysis program from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) was utilized to determine the prestress losses. The values of the time dependent MOE and also specific prestress losses from each model were compared. The MOE predictions based on the ACI and the CEB-FIP models were close to each other; in long-term, they approach the constant AASHTO value. Dischinger's model provides for higher MOE values. The elastic shortening and the long term losses from the variable MOE models are lower than that using a constant MOE up to deck casting time. In long term, the variable MOE-based losses approach that from the constant MOE predictions. The Dischinger model would result in more conservative girder design while the ACI and the CEB-FIP models would result in designs more consistent with the AASHTO approach.

This paper reported an experimental study on creep behaviors of PVB and Ionoplast laminated glass (LG) under load duration of 30 days. The tests were carried out in room temperature ($23^{\circ}C$). The study revealed that after sustaining loads for 30 days, the mid-span deflection of PVB LG increased by almost 102% compared with its short term deflection, while that of Ionoplast LG approximately increased by 14%; composite effects between two glass plies in PVB LG gradually reduced with time, but did not fully vanish at the 30th day; two glass plies in Ionoplast LG on the other hand was able to withstand loads as an effective composite section during the entire loading period; the creep behaviors of both LG were not finished yet at the 30th day. In addition to this, also studied was the varying of the bending stresses of PVB and Ionoplast LG under load duration of 2 hours. The tests were carried out in ambient temperatures of $30^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$ and $80^{\circ}C$ respectively. It was found that under a given load, although the bending stresses of both LG increased with increasing temperature, for PVB LG the increasing rate of the bending stress decreased with increasing temperature, while for Ionoplast LG the increasing rate of the bending stress increased with increasing temperature.

As fuel burnup proceeds, thermal gradients, differential swelling, and inter-assembly loading may induce assembly duct bowing. Since duct bowing affects the reactivity, such as long or short term power-reactivity-decrement variations, handling problem, caused by top end deflection of the bowed assembly duct, and the integrity of the assembly duct itself. Assembly duct bowing were first observed at EBR-ll in 1965, and then several designs of assembly ducts and core restraint system were used to accommodate this problem. In this study, NUBOW-2D KMOD was used to analyze the bowing behavior of the assembly duct under the KALIMER(Korea Advanced Liquid MEtal Reactor) core restraint system conditions. The mechanical behavior of assembly ducts related to several design parameters are evaluated. ACLP(Above Core Load Pad) positions, the gap distance between the ducts, and the gap distance between the duct and restraint ring were selected as the sensitivity parameter for the evaluation of duct deflection.

Objectives: The goal of this study was to evaluate the rates of complications, morbidity, and safety with the transparotid approach. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was conducted and consisted of 53 surgically treated patients in the past five years for low condylar neck and subcondylar fractures. Only patients with malocclusion and who underwent open reduction with internal fixation with the retromandibular transparotid approach were included. The examined parameters were postoperative suboptimal occlusion, deflection, saliva fistula, and facial nerve weakness. Results: Fifty-three patients had an open reduction with internal fixation on 55 sides (41 males, 77.4%; mean age, 42 years [range, 18-72 years]). Four patients (7.5%) experienced transient facial nerve weakness of the marginal mandibular branch, but none was permanent. Four patients had a salivary fistula, and 5 patients showed postoperative malocclusion, where one needed repeat surgery after one year. One patient showed long-term deflection. No other complications were observed. Conclusion: The retromandibular transparotid approach is a safe procedure for open reduction and internal fixation of low condylar neck and subcondylar fractures, and it has minimal complications.

Fly ash can significantly improve concrete workability and performance, and recycling fly ash in concrete can contribute to a cleaner environment. Since fly ash influences pozzolanic reactions in concrete, mechanical behaviors of concrete containing fly ash differ from traditional concrete. Creep behaviors of fly ash concrete filled steel tube arch were experimentally investigated for 10% and 30% fly ash replacement. The axes of two arches are designed as circular arc with 2.1 m computed span, 0.24 m arch rise, and their cross-sections are all in circular section. Time dependent deflection and strain of loading and mid-span steel tube were measured, and long term deflection of the model arch with 10% fly ash replacement was significantly larger than with 30% replacement. Considering the steel tube strain, compressive zone height, cross section curvature, and internal force borne by the steel tube, the compressive zone height and structural internal forces increased gradually over time due to concrete creep. Increased fly ash content resulted in more significant neutral axis shift. Mechanisms for internal force effects on neutral axis height were analyzed and verified experimentally.

A governing differential equation (GDE) of PSC flexural member with constant eccentricity considering the long-term losses including concrete creep, shrinkage, and PS steel relaxation is derived based on the two approaches. The first approach utilizes the force and moment equilibrium equations derived based on the geometry of strains of the uniform and curvature strains while the second one utilizes the principle of minimum total potential energy formulation. The identity of the two GDE's is verified by comparing the coefficients consisting of the GDE's. The boundary conditions resulting from the functional analysis of the variational calculus are investigated. Rayleigh-Ritz method provides a way to get the explicit form of the continuous deflection function in which the total potential energy is minimized with respect to the unknown coefficients consisting of the trial functions. As a closure, the analytically calculated results are compared with the experiments and show good agreements.

This paper focuses on the characteristics on long-term deflection and creep recovery of reinforced concrete beams under a sustained load of 25kN. In order to investigate the residual strengthen of the RC beam, a static flexural experiment was conducted. The result of the RC beam preloaded was compared with that of a RC beam, which was not preloaded.
Applying the method calculating creep of Concrete Filled steel Tube (CFT) members based on the Elastic Continuation and Plastic Flow theory for concrete creep with the finite element method, the paper develops a new numerical method for the creep of CFT arch bridges considering effects of bending moment. It is shown that the method is feasible and reasonable through comparing the predicted stresses and deflection caused by the creep with the results obtained by the method of Gu et al. (2001) based on ACI209R model and experimental data of an actual CFT arch bridge. Furthermore, nine CFT arch bridges with different types are calculated and analyzed with and without the effects of bending moment. As a result, the bending moment has considerable influences on long-term deformations and internal forces of CFT arch bridges, especially when the section of arch rib is subjected to a large bending moment.
