How do Energy Consumption, Economic Growth and Logistics Development Interrelate?

  • Purpose: Because the energy consumption, economic growth and logistics development are still the heated topics which have attracted many scholars' interests. Therefore, this paper attempts to analyze the effect of logistics development on the economic growth, explore the effect of the economic growth on energy consumption and to discuss the effect of the logistics development on energy intensity. Research design, data and methodology: Using the panel data over the period 2000-2017 of 156 countries and employing the country & year fixed effect model, system generalized method moments and random effect model, the empirical analyses of this propositions are performed. Results: The empirical findings present that the logistics development is positively related to the economic growth. The energy consumption in the t-1 period and economic growth are positively related to the current energy consumption. The logistics development is negatively related to the energy intensity. Meanwhile, the empirical findings also indicate that there is a great difference about these effects among the four sub-samples (low income 18 countries, low middle income 49 countries, upper middle income 44 countries, high income 49 countries). Conclusions: Based on the evidences in this paper provided, we can find that these variables can affect each other.

  • This paper presents the first domestic model product of hybrid Insulation low-loss type pole transformer, with increased overload ability, increased life, reduced loss, focusing improved short-circuit characteristics. The capacity of this transformer is 100 KVZ, rates first voltage 13200 V and secondary voltage 230/115 type. The volume of model transformer that was produced in high temperature using hybrid insulation can be reduced to 10-20% in comparison with that of present transformer with the same capacity. In this paper, we did short-circuit test and tested general characteristics of model transformer. In addition, we suggested design application new concept and methods thorough this experiment.

물류기업의 RFID 도입 요인과 물류성과의 관계 연구 (A Study on RFID Adoption and Logistics Performance in Logistics Company)

  • 물류분야에서 RFID 기술의 응용이 확산되면서 RFID 도입 요인과 물류성과와의 관계를 분석할 필요가 있다. 기존 여러 분야의 선행연구를 통하여 RFID 도입이나 채택에 영향을 미치는 요인을 도출하고, 물류기업을 대상으로 이러한 요인이 물류성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하고, 그에 대한 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 관련 선행연구에서 물류기업이 RFID를 도입하는데 있어 CEO 지원, 기술 우위성, 거래 파트너, 상호 양립성 및 상대적 이익과 같은 요인이 물류성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. SCM, 물류 및 유통, 제조분야를 대상으로 한 선행연구를 기초로 연구모형 및 가설을 설정하고, 물류기업 종사자를 대상으로 RFID 도입 요인이 물류성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰성 분석, 확인적 요인분석 및 구조방정식모형 분석을 통해 가설을 검증하였다. 연구 결과, CEO 지원과 거래 파트너의 RFID 도입 요인은 물류성과에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 상호 양립성과 상대적 이익은 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 기술 우위성은 물류성과에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났으나 p=0.052라는 것을 고려할 때, 물류성과에 유의한 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것으로 사료되며, 유의수준 0.1에서는 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

물류망 설계 및 계획을 위한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이터의 개발 (Development of a Logistics Network Simulator)

  • Logistics network management has become one of the most important sources of competitive advantage regarding logistics cost and customer service in numerous business segments. Logistics network simulation is a powerful analysis method for designing and planning the logistics network optimally in an integrated way. This paper introduces a logistics network simulator, LONSIM, developed by author. LONSIM deploys a mix of simulation and optimization functions to model and analysis logistics network issues such as facility location, inventory policy, manufacturing policy, transportation mode, warehouse assignment, supplier assignment, order processing priority rule, and vehicle routes. LONSIM is built with AweSim 2.1 and Visual Basic 6.0, and executed in windows environment.

Promotional Plans of Fourth-Party Logistics in Korea: Applicability in Entering the Chinese Logistics Market

  • Purpose - This study aims to disclose the problems of both the government and the logistics industry regarding fourth-party logistics, and to provide various solutions at the level of enterprises as well as the government for the introduction of fourth-party logistics in China. Research design, data, and methodology - This study aims to reveal how a shipping company recognizes the creation of partnerships with fourth-party logistics providers, and it reveals several related implications. Results - Fourth-party logistics organizations can be used to achieve maximum business performance as professional logistics companies by incorporating the benefits of outsourcing and insourcing. Outsourcing logistics services through focusing on core competencies and improving customer service can have financial effects and advantages such as the simplification of labor issues. Conclusions - This study did not investigate Korean enterprises through an empirical analysis and provided fourth-party logistics concepts and promotional plans according to domestic and foreign literature. Further studies shall investigate not only the Korean fourth-party logistics model but also the training of logistics professionals to generate profits for both shippers as well as logistics enterprises.

화물수요추정방법 개선을 위한 국내외 연구동향 분석 연구 (Research Trend for Improvement of Freight Demand Estimation Methods)

  • 기존의 전통적 4단계 수요추정기법은 화물의 물류특성(Logistics Characteristics)을 반영하지 못하는 한계가 있다. 이로 인해 물류시설의 신설 개선에 따른 수요 및 편익변화를 제대로 추정을 하지 못한다. 따라서 화물수요추정 과정의 신뢰도 및 활용도 제고를 위해 물류특성을 고려한 화물수요추정방법의 개발이 요구된다. 화물수요추정방법의 개선을 위해 1990년대 후반부터 유럽을 중심으로 물류행태 반영방법에 대한 연구가 시작되었다. 이에 반해 우리나라는 이러한 분야에 대한 연구가 미흡한 편이다. 본 연구는 물류행태 반영방법 및 대규모 화물조사에 대한 국내외 학술대회 발표논문, 학술지 게재논문 및 연구보고서 등을 바탕으로 1) 화물 품목구분, 2) P/C(Production- Consumption) 구축, 3) 물류 네트워크 구축, 4) 물류체인모형(logistics chain model) 구축, 5) 대규모 화물조사 분야에 대한 국내외 사례 및 최근 연구동향을 조사 분석하고 시사점을 도출하였다. 또한 화물수요추정방법 개선을 위한 발전방향을 제시하였다.

물류 안전 분위기가 물류 안전행동 및 물류 안전성과에 미치는 영향 : 물류 안전지식과 물류 안전동기의 매개효과 (Effects of Safety Climate on Safety Behavior and Safety Performances in Logistics : Mediating Effects of Safety Knowledge and Safety Motivation)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between logistics safety climate, logistics safety behavior, and logistics safety performance and the mediating effects of safety knowledge and safety motivation, and to suggest its strategic implications for the improvement of the logistics safety performance. Based on previous researches related to logistics safety, safety climate, safety knowledge, safety motivation, safety behavior and safety performance, research models and hypotheses were set up and questionnaires were conducted. For the hypothesis test, reliability analysis and validity analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation model analysis, and bootstrapping were applied. As a result of the empirical analysis, the logistics safety climate had a significant positive effect on logistics safety knowledge, logistics safety motivation, and logistics safety behavior, whereas logistics safety knowledge and logistics safety motivation had a meaningful positive effect on logistics safety behavior. Further, logistics safety behavior was found to have a significant positive effect on logistics safety performance. Safety behavior had a significant mediating effect, but safety knowledge and safety motivation did not. However, logistics safety climate, logistics safety knowledge, and logistics safety motivation did not have a significant effect on logistics safety performance.

폐쇄루프 공급망 모델을 이용한 혼합형유전알고리즘 접근법 (Hybrid Genetic Algorithm Approach using Closed-Loop Supply Chain Model)

  • 본 연구는 폐쇄루프 공급망 모델(Closed-Loop Supply Chain Model)을 이용하여 새로운 형태의 혼합형유전알고리즘(Proposed Hybrid Genetic Algorithm: pro-HGA)접근법의 수행도를 평가하기 위한 논문이다. 제안한 폐쇄루프 공급망 모델은 물류네트워크에서 순방향물류(Forward Logistics)와 역물류(Reverse Logistics)를 함께 고려한 통합형 물류모델이며. 이 모델에서는 회수된 제품의 재사용(Reuse), 재판매(Resale) 및 폐기(Waste Disposal)를 함께 고려하고 있다. 제안된 모델의 이행을 위해 기존연구에서 제안한 유전알고리즘(Genetic Algorithm: GA), 혼합형유전알고리즘(Hybrid Genetic Algorithm: HGA)과 본 연구에서 제안한 pro-HGA를 함께 적용하여 각 접근법들의 우수성을 비교분석하였다. 분석결과 본 연구에서 제안한 pro-HGA가 기존의 GA, HGA보다 더 우수한 결과를 얻었다.

Humanitarian Relief Logistics with Time Restriction: Thai Flooding Case Study

  • Shortages and delays in a humanitarian logistics system can contribute to the pain and suffering of survivors or other affected people. Humanitarian logistics budgets should be sufficient to prevent such shortages or delays. Unlike commercial supply chain systems, the budgets for relief supply chain systems should be able to satisfy demand. This study describes a comprehensive model in an effort to satisfy the total relief demand by minimizing logistics operations costs. We herein propose a strategic model which determines the locations of distribution centers and the total inventory to be stocked for each distribution center where a flood or other catastrophe may occur. The proposed model is formulated and solved as a mixed-integer programming problem that integrates facility location and inventory decisions by considering capacity constraints and time restrictions in order to minimize the total cost of relief operations. The proposed model is then applied to a real flood case involving 47 disaster areas and 13 distribution centers in Thailand. Finally, we discuss the sensitivity analysis of the model and the managerial implications of this research.

우리나라 컨테이너 물류 정보 교환에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Information Exchange in Container Cargo Logistics)

  • Increasing costs and competition in the global trade and transportation arena have led to a search for effient, cost-effective, particularly through the application of computer and information technologies. Most recently the introduction of Electronic Data Interchange(EDI) technologies in both trading and trade facili-tation activitiess have bagun to change the complextion of the international transport space. Korea as well as the other developing countries has become aware of the need to embrace EDI strate-gies in order to maintain a competitive market position with their more technologically advanced neighbou-ring and international trading partners. A way of EDI implementation, KMPA has invested large budgets in the research of the EDI since 1990. As the result of study in EDI of transport, KL-Net(Korea Logistics Network) was organized for the EDI business in cargo logistics. In spite of these KMPA's activities, the development plan of container logistics data interchange is not good and useful. So a new model of EDI in transportation is required by using the concepts of cargo data sharing. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a new way of container logistics data interchange model. This paper therefore analyze the information flow in the current container logistics and find the problem in the area to derive a new model. The followings are the results of this paper : (1) There are many problems and user's requirements in container logistics data interchange in Korea. (2) Many messages of UN/EDIFACT are able to be used in container logistics data interchange. (3) The container cargo data are stored in Container Logistics Network(CL-Net) database. And when necessary by requesting message transmission, the container logistics data interchange is possible. (4) Customs cargo clearance system and PORT-MIS can be linked to CL-Net. If the systems, however, are to introduce EDI in data interchange, the quality of user's software has to be assured.
