  • Although the government has revised the child welfare act, institutionalized the establishment of local children's centers, and given financial support for them, there are a number of problems with respect to their operation. Specifically, one of main problems is their limited space. Diverse problems that go with the arrangement of limited space and usability have occurred, however there are only a few strategies to use limited space flexibly. This study assumed variability as one of the methods to solve spatial problems. As a basic research for the assumption, Analyzing the variable method and characteristics of domestic and foreign child-care facility guidelines was performed trying to take advantage of as a basic data in order to seek a variable scheme of local children centers' indoor space. For this purpose, study analysed the methods and characteristics of variability centering on aspects related to variability which are environmental design elements required by local children's centers as suggested in previous studies. The results are as follows. First, the variability of space should be planned according to activity and time, and consider the methods of division, storage, and other facilities necessary. Second, methods of variability in space can be classified into creating areas and structures that are variable. Third, as a result of analysing the environmental design elements required by local children's centers, this study discovered the following characteristics: multi-purpose usability through a combination of variable devices, transition through a variable space medium and setting up areas and expansion of indoor variability assuming usability through internal and external connections.

  • Six local strains collected in Korea and one cultivar (Samdo) introduced from Japan were applied for comparative cultivation to investigate growth characteristics, root yield potentials and saikosaponin contents of root in Bupleurum falcatum L. The one and two year old plants of the native local strains flowered in August 2~3 and July 16~18, respectively, whereas Samdo was late flowering type, being delayed by 18~32days and sustained the growth of above ground parts to the end of November. All the native local strains have similiar characteristics but Samdo was completely different in plant and root type. Local strain collected from Chunchon showed better in growth and root characteristics, consequently resulting high yield of dry roots and saikosaponin contents in both one and two year old plants. The average yield of two year cultivation system was 2.6 times high as 105Kg /10a, compared with that of one year.

  • Our government finally understood the true meaning of this wisdom and is attempting to revive the rural area by establishing local produce exhibition hall. This is to allow different regions to promote their specialties and provide diverse experience to the public. However, the reality is that unstructured marketing and PR is not achieving much. Marketing in the past was a paradigm of function and benefit. As we passed 20th century, this was challenged, leading to experiential marketing. Customers' cultural urge and interest in experience and participation are getting stronger. With the facilitation of Promotion Center for local special products, local special products and relevant local communities will be promoted, and the distribution business will grow further. This research was performed to establish basic research materials for planning information center in order to invigorate regional products. This study brought about the following results: first, the Promotion Center for local special products can acquire emotional elements by associating the elements with local special products; secondly, the Promotion Center for local special products can acquire cognitive elements by harmonizing local communities' unique identities with their own other special products; thirdly, the Promotion Center for local special products can acquire behavioral elements by enjoying various experiences and events; fourthly, the Promotion Center for local special products can acquire relational elements by integrating other new spaces.

  • Forest statistics of local administrative districts have many social needs, nevertheless we have some difficulties for working out an accurate statistics because of insufficient data in small-area level. Thus, new small-area estimation method has to set aside additional data, decrease errors of statistics and consider the local forest characteristics at the same time. In this study, we researched the spatial divisions that can set aside additional data for statistics production and satisfy the major premise, which is "forest characteristics of spatial divisions have to be equal to that of small-area". And we compared synthetic estimation methods based on three different spatial divisions(provinces, neighbor districts and new expanded districts). New expanded districts were divided based on the criteria of climate, soil type and tree species composition that affects local forest characteristics. Small-area statistics were assessed in terms of the ability to estimate local forest characteristics and consistency within large-area statistics. As a result, new expanded districts synthetic estimation was assessed to calculate statistics that reflects local forest characteristics better than other two estimation methods. Moreover, this synthetic estimation method produced the statistics that was included within 95% confidence interval of large-area statistics and was the closer to large-area statistics than the neighbor districts synthetic estimation.

  • Highly significant correlation (p < 0.001) was found between body weight and chest circumference of the local Katjang and cross-bred (local Katjang ♀ ${\times}$ German Fawn ♂ bucks under study. Increase in body length, chest circumference, depth of chest and height at withers (p < 0.001) reflected significantly the increase in body weight of the bucks. At the same age the cross-breds were bigger than the indigenous breed. No significant correlation was detected between body weight and scrotal circumference, or the latter with sperm counts in both buck types under study. However, the fluid portion of the semen increased in acidity and volume, the latter being significant (P < 0.01) in the local Katjangs, with increase in scrotal circumference. Although the effects of body condition on buck libido of both groups were not significant, the reaction time taken to mount the teaser females were significantly diminished (p < 0.001) with better body condition, at least in the local Katjangs. The reaction time gad an inverse, though not necessarily significant, relationship with semen characteristics such as volume, pH (in local Katjangs, p < 0.05), concentration, color (in cross-breds, p < 0.05), agglutination and mass movements in both phenotypes.
