This work focused on aluminum foam sandwich (AFS) with different foam core densities and different face-sheet thicknesses subjected to constant amplitude three-point bending cyclic loading to study its fatigue performance. The experiments were conducted out by a high frequency fatigue test machine named GPS-100. The experimental results showed that the fatigue life of AFS decreased with the increasing loading level and the structure was sensitive to cyclic loading, especially when the loading level was under 20%. S-N curves of nine groups of AFS specimens were obtained and the fatigue life of AFS followed three-parameter lognormal distribution well. AFS under low cyclic loading showed pronounced cyclic hardening and the static strength after fatigue test increased. For the same loading level, effects of foam core density and face-sheet thickness on the fatigue life of AFS structure were trade-off and for the same loading value, the fatigue life of AFS increased with aluminum foam core density or face-sheet thickness monotonously. Core shear was the main failure mode in the present study.
The stress environment of deep rock masses is complex. Under the action of earthquakes or blasting, the strength and stability of anchored rock masses in fracture zones or faults are affected. To explore the variation in anchored rock masses under creep-fatigue loading, shear creep comparative testing of anchored marble specimens with or without fatigue loading is performed. Considering the damage variable of rock under fatigue loading, a rheological model is established to characterize the whole shear creep process of anchored rock masses under creep-fatigue loading. The results show that (1) the overall deformation of marble under creep-fatigue loading is larger than that under only shear creep loading, and the average deformation is increased by 18.3%. (2) By comparing the creep curves with and without fatigue loading, the two curves basically coincide when the first level stress is applied, and the two curves are stable with the increase in stress level. The results show that the strain difference among the specimens increases gradually in the steady-state stage and reaches the maximum at the fourth level. (3) The shear creep is described by considering the creep mechanical properties of anchored rock masses under fatigue loading. The accuracy of this creep-fatigue model is verified by laboratory tests, and the applicability of the model is illustrated by the fitting parameter R2. The proposed model provides a theoretical basis for the study of anchored rock masses under low-frequency earthquakes or blasting and new methods for the stability and reinforcement of rock masses.

This paper presents the fatigue behavior of composite materials with impact-induced damage under 2 level block loading. For this purpose, the 2 level block loading fatigue tests were performed on the impacted composite laminate. The fatigue life of the laminate under the block loading is greatly influenced by the impact damage; the effect of impact damage can be characterized by the present impact damage parameter. Based on this parameter, the model is developed to predict the fatigue life under block loading and the results by this model agree well with experimental results regardless of applied impact energy. Also, stochastic model is established to describe the variation of cumulative damage behavior and fatigue life due to the material nonhomogeneity.
This study estimates unit for the nonpoint source(NPS), classified according to the existing Level-1(large scale) land cover map, by monitoring the measurement results from each Level-2(medium scale) land cover map, and verifies the applicability by comparison with previously calculated units using the Level-1 land cover map. The NPS pollutant loading for a basin is evaluated by applying the NPS pollutant unit to Dongcheon basin using the Level-2 land cover map. In addition, the BASINS/HSPF(Better Assessment Science Integrating point & Non-point Sources/Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) model is used to evaluate the reliability of the NPS pollutant loading computation by comparing the loading during precipitation in the Dongcheon basin. The NPS pollutant unit for the Level-2 land cover map is computed based on precipitation measured by the Sangju observatory in the Nakdong River basin. Finally, the feasibility of the NPS pollutant loading computation using a BASINS/HSPF model is evaluated by comparing and analyzing the NPS pollutant loading when estimated unit using the Level-2 land cover map and simulated using the BASINS/HSPF models.
Crack tip behavior of single mode loading condition(mode I)depend on tensile loading component but one of mixed mode loading condition(mode I+II) have influenced on shear loading component like the practical structure. Because crack closure is caused by shear loading component under mixed-mode loading a research on the behavior in the stage of crack initiation and propagation require to be evaluate about crack closure effect by fatigue crack surface friction. For that reasion we examined the behavior at the crack tip by direct measuring method. Measured behavior at the crack tip was analyzed through vector crack tip displacement. As a result, crack propafation equation was corrected by considering with crack closure effect. In addition we compared fatigue fracture crack surface and crack closure level.

The movement of deterioration agents such as a chloride ion, etc. in concrete varies with loading conditions and micro-structure developed by age effect. In this paper, the carbonation behavior by accelerated carbonation test is evaluated considering curing periods(28 days, 91 days, and 365 days) and loading conditions. Carbonation velocity coefficients are obtained referred to KS F 2584. In the control case without loading condition, carbonation velocity coefficient of 91 days decreases to 50.0 % level and that of 365 days decreases to 44.8 % level than that of 28 days curing condition. In 28 curing days, carbonation velocity coefficients changed level of 103.9 ~ 108.8 % in tensile region and 91.9~104.6 % in compressive region by loading conditions. Carbonation velocity coefficients in the 30 % and 60 % tensile loading case at 28 days decreases to 47.3 % and 52.5 % level compared to control case after 1 year. Furthermore, 45.8 % and 44.9 % level of carbonation velocity coefficients are evaluated for 30 % and 60 % compressive loading conditions compared to control case after 1 year. Carbonation velocity coefficient decreases in the 30 % compressive loading level due to effective pore compaction and it increases afterwards due to micro-cracking. In the tensile loading condition, unlike the behavior of compressive region, it linearly increases with increasing loading level.

This paper focuses on the effect of creep on the critical compressive strain (CCS) of concrete. The strain of concrete corresponding to the peak compressive stress is crucial in the selection of the ultimate yield strength of the reinforcing bar used in reinforced concrete columns. Among the various influencing factors, such as the creep, shrinkage, loading rate and confinement, the effect of creep and shrinkage is the most significant. So far, investigations into how these factors can affect the CCS of concrete have been rare. Therefore, to investigate the effect of creep and shrinkage on CCS, an experimental (part I) and a parametric study (part II) were conducted, as presented in these papers (part I considers creep effect, part II considers effect of creep and shrinkage). In part I, experiments pertaining to the loading age, loading rate, loading duration and loading and creep levels were conducted to study the effect of these variables on the CCS of concrete. It was found that the effects of the loading rate, loading age, and level and duration on the CCS of concrete were negligible. However, it is very important to consider the effect of creep.

In this study, the muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension were determined using an isokinetic muscle strength meter (Biodex) in patients with chronic lumbar go (10 male and 10 females), and the changes in muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension after application of Y-shaped sacrospinalis muscle taping, typically used for patient with lumbar go, were studied. In addition, the sacrospinalis muscle taping of a different shape (I-shaped taping) was applied bilaterally centering on the spine, and the muscle strength and endurance of the lumbar at flexion and extension were determined and compared with those before taping. In addition, the results after application of Y-shaped taping and I-shaped taping were also compared. 1. The extensor muscle strength of the lumbar at loading of $60^{\circ}$/sec before application of kinesio Taping and after application of Y-shaped taping showed the level of significance (p<.05). Ten beams bonded with glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) laminates were tested under cyclic loading with the load range and the FRP reinforcement ratio as test parameters. The maximum load level during cyclic loading was 55%, 65% and 75% of the static flexural strength while the minimum load level was kept constant at 35%. Deflections of the beams at the end of 525000 cycles were found to increase by 16% and 44% when the maximum load level was increased from 55% to 65% and 75% of the static flexural strength, respectively. Beams with FRP reinforcement ratios of 0.64% and 1.28% were found to exhibit lesser deflections of about 15% and 20%, respectively, compared to a similar beam without FRP reinforcement. An analytical approach based on cycle-dependent effective moduli of elasticity of concrete and FRP reinforcement is presented and found to predict the deflections of the test beams well.

This paper addresses FMS(Flexible Manufacturing System) loading problems with machine, tool and process flexibilities. When designing FMS planning, it is important to take account of these flexibilities for an efficient utilization of the resources. However, almost all the existing researches do not appropriately consider various flexibilities due to the problem complexity. This paper presents a new evolutionary algorithm to solve the FMS loading problems with machine, tool and process flexibilities. The algorithm is named a multi-level symbiotic evolutionary algorithm. The proposed algorithm is compared with the existing ones in terms of solution quality and convergence speed. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of our approach.
