In this study, we try to minimize the tariff risk by constructing a hazardous cargo screening model by applying Association Rule Mining, one of the data mining techniques. For this, the risk level between supply chains is calculated using the Apriori Algorithm, which is an association analysis algorithm, using the big data of the import declaration form of the Korea Customs Service(KCS). We perform data preprocessing and association rule mining to generate a model to be used in screening the supply chain. In the preprocessing process, we extract the attributes required for rule generation from the import declaration data after the error removing process. Then, we generate the rules by using the extracted attributes as inputs to the Apriori algorithm. The generated association rule model is loaded in the KCS screening system. When the import declaration which should be checked is received, the screening system refers to the model and returns the confidence value based on the supply chain information on the import declaration data. The result will be used to determine whether to check the import case. The 5-fold cross-validation of 16.6% precision and 33.8% recall showed that import declaration data for 2 years and 6 months were divided into learning data and test data. This is a result that is about 3.4 times higher in precision and 1.5 times higher in recall than frequency-based methods. This confirms that the proposed method is an effective way to reduce tariff risks.
In this study, we investigated the efficacy of ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin (${\beta}CD$) hydrorogel containing silk fibroin (SF) on healing burnt wound. Tosyl ${\beta}CD$ was conjugated to polyethyleneimine (PEI) using epichlorohydrin (EPI) as a cross-linker. The ${\beta}CD/PEI/SF$ hydrogel was applied on the back of mouse and then the efficacy of hydrogel was compared with both positive control group and negative control group. There was no wound healing efficacy showed neither in the drug loaded ${\beta}CD/PEI/SF$ hydrogel group nor in the drug unloaded ${\beta}CD/PEI/SF$ hydrogel group. On the other hand, in the positive control group, a significant reduction of the wound size after the usage of OTC hydrorogel was obtained. The burn-healing histological result showed a similar phenomenon. After hematoxylin-eosin staining the skin induced by burning, and the epithelial growth observed in the dermis, the efficacy of ${\beta}CD/PEI/SF$ hydrogel in healing burnt wound could not be clearly identified.
We have investigated the kinetics and catalytic activity of $CO_2$-lignite gasification with various metal precursors as catalysts. $K_2CO_3$, $Mn(NO_3)_2$, and $Ce(NO_3)_3$ were used and impregnated on a coal using an evaporator. The gasification experiments were carried out with the low rank coal loaded with 5 wt% catalyst at the temperature range from $700{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ and atmospheric pressure with the $N_2-CO_2$ reactant gas mixture. The catalytic effect on the gasification rate of the low rank coal with $CO_2$ was determined by the thermogravimetric analyzer. It was observed that the low rank coal reached the complete carbon conversion regardless of the kinds of catalysts at $900^{\circ}C$ from the results of TGA. The catalytic activity was ranked as 5 wt% $K_2CO_3$ > 5 wt% $Mn(NO_3)_2$ > 5 wt% $Ce(NO_3)_3$ > Non-catalyst at $900^{\circ}C$. The gasification rate increased with increasing the temperature. The activation energy of the catalytic gasification with 5 wt% $K_2CO_3$ was 119.0 kJ/mol, which was the lowest among all catalysts.
In this work, carbon fibers were electrolessly Ni-plated in order to investigate the effect of metal plating on the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMI-SE) of Ni-coated carbon fibers-reinforced epoxy matrix composites. The surfaces of carbon fibers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Electric resistance of the composites was tested using a 4-point-probe electric resistivity tester. The EMI-SE of the composites was evaluated by means of the reflection and adsorption methods. From the results, it was found that the EMI-SE of the composites enhanced with increasing Ni plating time and content. In high frequency region, the EMI-SE didn't show further increasing with high Ni content (Ni-CF 10 min) compared to the Ni-CF 5 min sample. In conclusion, Ni content on the carbon fibers can be a key factor to determine the EMI-SE of the composites, but there can be an optimized metal content at a specific electromagnetic frequency region in this system.

Stratum corneum known as a skin barrier, which maintains water in skin, is the outer layer of the skin. Natural moisturizing factors (NMF) are one of the constituents in stratum corneum and amino acids are the highest components among NMF. In this study, we designed stearic acid-based solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) for improved skin penetration of serine (Ser). Ser-capsulated SLN was manufactured by double-melting emulsification method. The mean particle size and zeta potential of SLNs were 256.30 ~ 416.93 nm and -17.60 ~ -35.27 mV, respectively. The higher the degree of hydrophobicity or hydrophilicity of emulsifiers, the smaller the particle size and the higher the stability and capsulation rate. In addition, skin penetration was conducted using SkinEthicTM RHE which is one of the reconstructed human epidermis models. The results of Ser penetration demonstrated that all SLNs enhanced than serine solution. The amount of enhanced Ser penetration from SLNs were approximately 4.1 ~ 6.2 times higher than that from Ser solution. Therefore, Ser-loaded SLN might be a promising drug delivery system for moisturizing formulation in cosmeceutical.
In order to respond to carbon neutrality and climate change in agriculture, agricultural machinery, which has been developed centered on internal combustion engines, needs to be converted to an electric-based technology that does not emit greenhouse gases. In this study, simulations for electric UTV suspension design were performed to reduce vibration and shock of electric UTV for agricultural use and to improve driving stability and control performance of the vehicle. The simulation was performed by dividing the tolerance load of the vehicle body and the loaded load state. The range of motion of the suspension spring of UTV is within 30% of the range of motion under condition B under tolerance, the displacement of the UTV suspension with full load is reduced from 264mm to 121mm, and the damping speed is 260mm/s to 300mm/s that it can be seen that the range of motion is within 60%. Suspension design of electric UTV for multi-purpose agricultural work is a very important factor for maintaining agricultural work ability in towing work such as tillage as well as driving and terrain adaptation. The results of this study can be usefully used to determine the spring parameters with the appropriate damping range so that the electric UTV can be used for various agricultural tasks.
Since the pandemic of COVID-19, active investigation to develop immunity to infectious disease by delivering nucleic acids has been proceeded. Particularly, many studies have been conducted on non-viral vector as several vital side-effects which were found on nucleic acid delivery system using viral vectors. In this study, we have developed plasmid DNA (pDNA) loaded-hyaluronic acid derivative (HA) coated-polyethyleneimine (PEI) based polyplex for enhanced nucleic acid delivery efficiency. We have optimized the ratio of pDNA : PEI : HA by measuring size and protein transcription efficiency. The final product, polyplex-HA, was characterized through measuring size, zeta-potential and TEM image. Intracellular uptake and protein transcription efficiency were compared to commercially available transfection reagent, lipofectamine, through fluorescence image and flow cytometry. In conclusion, polyplex-HA presents a novel gene delivery system for efficient and stable protein transcription since it is available for delivering various genetic materials and has less immunoreactivity.

Objectives: The aim of this work is to evaluate the in vitro antioxidant, hypoglycemic, and antiobesity effects of Euphorbia resinifera extracts and investigate the phenolic constituents and the toxicity of these extracts. Methods: Phytochemical screening was performed to detect polyphenols and flavonoids. Antioxidant activity was evaluated by four methods (DPPH, ABTS, H2O2, and xanthine oxidase inhibition). The hypoglycemic effect was determined by the inhibition of α-amylase and α-glucosidase enzymes in vitro and via a starch tolerance study in normal rats. The antiobesity effect was estimated by in vitro inhibition of lipase. Results: Phytochemical screening revealed that the ethanolic extract was rich in polyphenols (99 ± 0.56 mg GEA/g extract) and tannins (55.22 ± 0.17 mg RE/g extract). Moreover, this extract showed higher antioxidant activity in different tests: the DPPH assay (IC50 = 53.81 ± 1.83 ㎍/mL), ABTS assay (111.4 ± 2.64 mg TE/g extract), H2O2 (IC50 = 98.15 ± 0.68 ㎍/mL), and xanthine oxidase (IC50 = 10.26 ± 0.6 ㎍/mL). With respect to hypoglycemic effect, the aqueous and ethanolic extracts showed IC50 values of 119.7 ± 2.15 ㎍/mL and 102 ± 3.63 ㎍/mL for α-amylase and 121.4 ± 1.88 and 56.6 ± 1.12 ㎍/mL for α-glucosidase, respectively, and the extracts lowered blood glucose levels in normal starch-loaded rats. Additionally, lipase inhibition was observed with aqueous (IC50 = 25.3 ± 1.53 ㎍/mL) and ethanolic (IC50 = 13.7 ± 3.03 ㎍/mL) extracts. Conclusion: These findings show the antioxidant, hypoglycemic, and hyperlipidemic effects of E. resinifera extracts, which should be investigated further to validate their medicinal uses and their pharmaceutical applications.
Purpose: This experimental study was conducted to find out whether a water-mist fire suppression system can be applied to C.E.P., a representative combustible material of a rack storage. Method: First, it was confirmed whether the water-mist fire-extinguishing system used in this experiment was capable of extinguishing oil fires. After that, the C.E.P. boxes were loaded in the same small space as used in the oil fire experiment, and then the experiment was conducted on three scenarios; door opening, door closing, and door closing and increasing the internal load. The scenario was set considering the opening and space size conditions, which are important factors for the water-mist fire suppression. Result: Oil fire suppression tests have shown that fires are well extinguished in both the door open and closed conditions. In case of a fire of C.E.P. boxes in the same space condition as an oil fire, the fire was not extinguished in the door open condition. Fires were extinguished in the case with the door closed condition, but the afterglow was confirmed. Conclusion: In the oil fire suppression test, a water-mist fire suppression system extinguished a fire in both the door open and closed conditions. However, for the C.E.P fire, it was possible to extinguish only under the door closed condition, and there was a possibility of re-ignition.
Spent photovoltaic module is one of the important resource of silver, while related research concerning silver recovery remains limited. In our previous research, HNO3 was utilized to dissolve Ag(I) and Al(III) from the spent silicon solar cells. In order to recover Ag(I) from the leachate of a silicon solar cell, the present study made use of a nitrate solution containing Ag(I) and Al(III), which was subjected to a solvent extraction process with 5,8-diethyl-7-hydroxydodecan-6-oxime (LIX63). Ag(I) was selectively extracted with LIX63 over Al(III) from the nitrate leach solution. Subsequently, quantitative stripping of Ag(I) from the loaded LIX63 was performed by using 20% ammonia water. The McCabe-Thiele plots for the extraction and stripping isotherms of Ag(I) were also constructed. Extraction and stripping simulation tests confirmed an Ag(I) extraction and stripping efficiency of >99.99% and 98.9%, respectively with high purity Ag (99.998%) and Al (99.99%) solution. A process flow sheet for Ag(I) recovery from the nitrate leach solution was proposed.
