The wireless power transfer (WPT) charging system for AGV depends highly on the coupling conditions due to air gap variation. To attain stable output power with high transfer efficiency under various coupling conditions, a single-stage, DC-DC converter that operates with robustness to changes in air gaps is proposed for the WPT system. The proposed converter is capable of soft switching under the set input voltage (Vin: 380 VDC), load conditions (0-1 kW), and air gap changes (30-70 mm). In addition, a wide output voltage range (Vo: 39-54 VDC) can be controlled by varying the link voltage due to the phase control at a fixed switching frequency. Experimental results are verified using a prototype of a 1 kW wireless power charging system.
Double-Skin Facades (DSF) on tall buildings are becoming increasingly common in urban environments due to their ability to provide architectural merit, passive design, acoustic control and even improved structural efficiency. This study aims to understand the effects of porous DSF on the aerodynamic characteristics of tall buildings using wind tunnel tests. High Frequency Force Balance and pressure tests were performed on the CAARC standard tall building model with a variable porous DSF on the windward face. The introduction of a porous DSF did not adversely affect the overall mean forces and moments experienced by the building, with few differences compared to the standard tall building model. There was also minimal variation between the results for the three porosities tested: 50%, 65% and 80%. The presence of a full-height porous DSF was shown to effectively reduce the mean and fluctuating wind pressure on the side face of the building by about 10%, and a porous DSF over the lower half height of the building was almost as effective. This indicates that the porous DSF could be used to reduce the design load on cladding and fixtures on the side faces of tall buildings, where most damage to facades typically occurs.
The interaction between two different shaped structures is very important to be understood. Fluid-structure interactions and aerodynamics of a circular cylinder in the wake of a V-shaped cylinder are examined experimentally, including forces, shedding frequencies, lock-in process, etc., with the V-shaped cylinder width d varying from d/D = 0.6 to 2, where D is the circular cylinder diameter. While the streamwise separation between the circular cylinder and V-shaped cylinder was 10D fixed, the transverse distance T between them was varied from T/D = 0 to 1.5. While fluid force and shedding frequency of the circular cylinder were measured using a load cell installed in the circular cylinder, measurement of shedding frequency of the V-shaped cylinder was done by a hotwire. The major findings are: (i) a larger d begets a larger velocity deficit in the wake; (ii) with increase in d/D, the lock-in between the shedding from the two cylinders is centered at d/D = 1.1, occurring at $d/D{\approx}0.95-1.35$ depending on T/D; (iii) at a given T/D, when d/D is increased, the fluctuating lift grows and reaches a maximum before decaying; the d/D corresponding to the maximum fluctuating lift is dependent on T/D, and the relationship between them is linear, expressed as $d/D=1.2+{\frac{1}{e}}T/D$; that is, a larger d/D corresponds to a greater T/D for the maximum fluctuating lift.
The Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) can be occurred by various factors such as repetition, forceful exertions and awkward postures. Especially, occurrences of the WMSDs on the waist and lower limb are reported in workplaces, demanded standing postures for a long time, in service and manufacturing industry. The static and standing postures without movement for a long time increase work loads to the lower limb and the waist. Accordingly, anti-fatigue mat or anti-fatigue insole is used as a preventing device of the WMSDs. However anti-fatigue mats are limited in space and movement. In this study, multi-elastic insoles are designed and shown the effects of the workload reduction for a long time under the standing work. The foot pressures and EMG (Electromyography) are measured at 0 hour and after 2 hours by 6 health students in their twenties. The 6 prototype insoles are designed with three elastic (Low, Medium and High). These insoles are compared with no insole (insole type 7) as control group. The EMG measurement was conducted to waist (erector spinae muscle), thigh (vastus lateralis muscle) and calf (gastrocnemius muscle). The foot pressure is analyzed by mean pressure value and the EMG analysis is investigated through MF (Median Frequency), MPF (Mean Power Frequency) and ZCR (Zero Crossing Rate). The results of the foot pressure show that the multi-elastic insoles had smaller foot pressure value than that of no-insole. Moreover, Insole 2 and Insole 3 have the smallest increasing rate in foot pressure. The EMG results show that the multi-elastic insoles had smaller EMG shift value than that of no-insole in 2 hour, and then shift value shows the smallest value in Insole 2. Therefore, this study presents that the multi-elastic insoles have reducing effects of the work load for a long time standing work in both side of foot pressure and EMG.

This paper presents the experimental results obtained by applying frequency-domain structural health monitoring techniques to assess the damage suffered on a special type of damper called Web Plastifying Damper (WPD). The WPD is a hysteretic type energy dissipator recently developed for the passive control of structures subjected to earthquakes. It consists of several I-section steel segments connected in parallel. The energy is dissipated through plastic deformations of the web of the I-sections, which constitute the dissipative parts of the damper. WPDs were subjected to successive histories of dynamically-imposed cyclic deformations of increasing magnitude with the shaking table of the University of Granada. To assess the damage to the web of the I-section steel segments after each history of loading, a new damage index called Area Index of Damage (AID) was obtained from simple vibration tests. The vibration signals were acquired by means of piezoelectric sensors attached on the I-sections, and non-parametric statistical methods were applied to calculate AID in terms of changes in frequency response functions. The damage index AID was correlated with another energy-based damage index -ID- which past research has proven to accurately characterize the level of mechanical damage. The ID is rooted in the decomposition of the load-displacement curve experienced by the damper into the so-called skeleton and Bauschinger parts. ID predicts the level of damage and the proximity to failure of the damper accurately, but it requires costly instrumentation. The experiments reported in this paper demonstrate a good correlation between AID and ID in a realistic seismic loading scenario consisting of dynamically applied arbitrary cyclic loads. Based on this correlation, it is possible to estimate ID indirectly from the AID, which calls for much simpler and less expensive instrumentation.

This paper studies the electronic ballast development for 250w MH lamps. We have improved the input power factor using a PFC IC. To provide the rating voltage required In the lamps, we have used the buck type dc-dc converter By this method, the stress of switching devices in inverter can be reduced. The inverter is the Full-Bridge type. To eliminate the acoustic resonance phenomena of MH lamps, we have added the high frequency sinewave voltage to the low frequency square-wave voltage to the lamp. We hove developed the igniter circuit using the L, C devices. We could control dimming of the lamp by varying the output voltage of the buck converter. The time of illuminating lamps and luminous intensity could be adjusted by season and time band. The buck converter output voltage can be controlled and the no load and over current situation were Protected by the development of the microprocessor Program.
AC servo motor drives, Fara DS series, proposed in this paper can be effectively used in robots, CNC machine tools, and FA system with AC servo motors as actuators. The inverter of the AC servo drive consists of IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) which have high switching frequency. Noises and vibrations generated in variable speed control of AC servo motors can be greatly reduced due to their high switching frequencies. In the developed servo drive, maximum torque is always generated in the whole speed range by compensating phase shift, which results from the nonlinearies of the AC servo motor during abrupt acceleration and deceleration. Abundant protection functions are provided to prevent abnormal state of the servo motor, and furthermore diverse user options are considered provided for the effective application. The proposed AC servo motor drive is designed to minimize velocity variation with respect to external load, supply voltage, environmental temperature, and humidity, so can be widely used in the fields of factory automation including robots and CNC msachine tools.

The wound induction motor can provide high starting torque and reduced starting current simultaneously by inserting large resistor externally when starting. And this technique is one of the well known methods among the induction motor starting methods and generally used for heavy load starting such as crane and cement factories. The conventional PI controller has been widely used in industrial application due to the simple control algorithm and is generally used for control of current torque, position, and speed for the wound induction motor drive system. However, the conventional control system for wound induction motor may result in poor performance because sensors have to be used but are often limited by the environmental condition. Recently, to overcome these problems, many sensorless vector control methods for the wound induction motor have been studied. This paper presents a MRAS method for sensorless vector control of the wound induction motor drive. In the conventional MRAS method, in low frequency, the stator resistance variation may result in poor performance. Therefore, this paper presents a MRAS method with stator and rotor resistance tuning for sensorless vector control of the wound induction motor to overcome several shortages of the conventional MRAS caused by parameter variation and to enhance the robustness of the sensorless vector control. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through digital simulation.

This paper suggests a multi-level and multi-output SMPS based on a shared digital logic controller through independently operating in each dedicated time periods. Although the shared architecture can be devised with small area and high efficiency, it has critical drawbacks that real-time control of each DPWM generators are impossible and its output voltage can be unstable. To solve these problems, a real-time current compensation scheme is proposed as a solution. A current consumption of the core block and entire block with four driver buffers was simulated about 4.9mA and 30mA at 10MHz switching frequency and 100MHz core operating frequency. Output voltage ripple was 11 mV at 3.3V output voltage. Over/undershoot voltage was 10mV/19.6mV at 3.3V output voltage. The noise performance was simulated at 800mA and 100KHz load regulation. Core circuit can be implemented small size in $700{\mu}m{\times}800{\mu}m$ area. For the verification of proposed circuit, the simulations were carried out with Dong-bu Hitek BCD $0.35{\mu}m$ technology.
This study was performed to determine the health and nutritional risk factors associated with hypertension in Koreans over the age of 50 in a high-income class (more than twice as much family income as the 2005 Korean minimum cost of living, 668,540 Won). A total of 505 subjects aged over 50 from the 2005 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) were divided into two groups: A hypertension group (HG) (N=151, Systolic Blood Pressure ${\geq}$140 mmHg or Diastolic Blood Pressure ${\geq}$90 mmHg) and normal group (NG) (N=354). Subjects who took hypertension medicines or underwent diet therapy were excluded. In HG, mean daily alcohol intake and the amount of alcohol consumption per one occasion were significantly higher than in NG, respectively. A greater number of hypertension subjects answered that they drank alcohol to reduce stress as compared to normal subjects. HG also took fewer dietary supplements than NG. Mean body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, fasting blood sugar level, and 2 hour postprandial blood sugar following a glucose load were significantly higher in HG than in NG, respectively. Also, iron, thiamin, and niacin intakes and the consumption frequency of seaweeds were significantly lower in HG than in NG, respectively. Finally, obesity (BMI ${\geq}$25 $kg/m^2$), abdominal obesity (waist circumference ${\geq}$90 cm for males, ${\geq}$ 80 cm for females), high blood sugar level 2 hours after an oral glucose load (${\geq}$140~200 mg/dl), and hypertriglyceridemia (serum TG ${\geq}$200 mg/dl) were related to a significantly higher risk of hypertension in the subjects (odds ratio: 1.884~3.040). In conclusion, dietary factors such as higher alcohol consumption; lower intakes of iron, thiamin, and niacin; lower consumption frequency of seaweeds; and metabolic syndrome were associated with hypertension in the study subjects.
