리튬이온폴리머전지용 가교형 겔폴리머전해질의 중합조건 최적화 연구 (Optimization Study on Polymerization of Crosslink-type Gel Polymer Electrolyte for Lithium-ion Polymer Battery)

  • In this work, polymerization conditions of the gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) were studied to obtain better electrochemical performances in a lithium-ion polymer battery. When the polymerization temperature and time of the GPE were 70$^{\circ}C$ and 70 min, respectively, the lithium polymer battery showed excellent a rate capability and cycleability. The TMPETA (trimethylolpropane ethoxylate triacrylate)/TEGDMA (triethylene glycol dimethacrylate)-based cells prepared under optimized polymerization conditions showed excellent rate capability and low-temperature performances: The discharge capacity of cells at 2 Crate showed 92.1 % against 0.2C rate. The cell at -20 $^{\circ}C$ also delivered 82.4 % of the discharge capacity at room temperature.

Electrochemical Properties and Structural Analysis of Carbon-Coated Silicon Anode for Lithium Secondary Batteries

  • The effects of carbon-coated silicon anode on the electrochemical properties and structural change were investigated. The carbon-coated silicon powders have been prepared by thermal decomposition under argon/10wt% propylene mixed gas flow at $700^{\circ}C$. The surface and crystal structure of the synthesized materials were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Raman spectroscopy. Lithium cells with electrodes made from the uncoated and the carbon coated silicon anode were assembled and tested. The carbon-coated silicon particles merged together well after the insertion/extraction of lithium ions, and showed a relatively low irreversible capacity compared with the uncoated silicon particle.

  • The purpose of this study is to research and develop graphene composite for lithium polymer battery. VO(graphene) composite is one of the promising material as a electrode active material for lithium polymer battery(LPB). We investigated AC impedance response and charge/discharge cycling of VO(graphene)/SPE/Li cells. The first discharge capacity of VO(graphene) cathode with 50wt.% V$_2$O$\sub$5/ was 150mAh/g, while that of VO(graphene) cathode with 85wt.% V$_2$O$\sub$5/ was 248mAh/g. The Ah efficiency was above 98% after the 2nd cycle. The discharge capacity of VO(graphene) anode with 3wt.% V$_2$O$\sub$5/ was 718 and 266mAh/g at cycle 1 and 10 at room temperature, respectively. The VO(graphene) anode with 3wt.% V$_2$O$\sub$5/ in PVDF-PAN-PC-EC-LiC1O$_4$ electrolyte showed good capacity with cycling.

  • A comprehensive coverage of corrosion in batteries is rendered difficult by the wide choice of materials, environments and physical features as obtained in practical settings. Understanding of the complex processes that occur in these electrochemical systems gets clearer as new theoretical approaches backed by sophisticated analytical and characterization techniques continue to provide valuable insights which aid in controlling/mitigating wasteful corrosion reactions which affect battery shelf-life, cycle life, rate capability and capacity. In the light of the above, I limit myself to a discussion on corrosion aspects in representative system such as conventional Leclanche, lead-acid battery and magnesium batteries, and advanced lithium systems.

  • 리튬이차전지는 충방전의 반복 동안의 액체전해질과 리튬음극과의 반응으로 수지상결정의 성장으로 리튬이 차전지에 있어서 안전성의 문제를 일으킨다. 고분자 전해질은 수지상 결정 형성을 억제하며 전해질에 성능을 향상시키는 연구가 활발히 진행중이다. 본 연구에서는 겔 전해질에 $Al_2O_3$를 첨가하여 전해질의 표면구조와 임피던스 특성을 조사하였다. 리튬이온의 수율은 $10wt\%\;PAN-Al_2O_3$ 전해질에 5mV의 전압을 인가했을 때 0.29였고 전해질의 이온전도도는 상온에서$2.3\times10^{-4} S/cm$였다. 무기 충진제가 고분자 전해질에 첨가되었을 때 이온전도도 및 이온수율은 무기 충진제가 첨가되지 않은 것보다 높게 나타났다.

  • 녹색 성장과 녹색 소비문화는 국제적인 추세이며, 이를 선도하는 분야중 하나인 전기차, 하이브리드차 등의 그린카의 중요성은 주변에서 쉽게 접할 수 있다. 그린카 분야에서 배터리를 활용하는 기술에 대한 연구개발 수준은 관심 차원을 넘어 활성화 되고 있는 단계라 할 수 있다. 이에 따라 2차 전지인 리튬 계열의 배터리를 보다 효율적이고 안정적으로 사용하기 위해 배터리를 관리하고 모니터링 하는 기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 리튬 계열의 배터리를 관리하고 모니터링하는 기술에 대한 설계 및 활용 방법에 대해 제안한다.

  • In order to design capacity of lithium ion battery, some calculations were carried out based on the characteristics of materials by the given battery shape and dimension. The principle of design was built by the interpretation of the correlation of material, electrochemical and battery factors. Parameters of materials are fundamental physical properties of constituent such as cathode. separator, anode, current collectors and electrolyte. Electrochemical factor includes potential pattern as a function of specific capacity, specific discharge capacity(or initial irreversible specific capacity or Ah efficiency) as a function of specific charge capacity and material balancing. Parameters of battery are dimension, construction hardware and performance. Battery capacity was simulated for a lithium cobalt dioxide as cathode and a hard carbon as anode to achieve 1100 mAh for the charge limit voltage of 4.2V, the weight ratio(+/-) of 2.4 and ICR18650. A fabricated test cell (ICR18650) which have weight ratio(+/-) of 2.4 discharged to 1093 mAh for the charge limit voltage of 4.2V. The sequential discharge capacity show good correspondence with designed capacity.

  • The rapid development of communication equipment and information processing technology has led to a constant improvement in cordless communication. Lithium ion batteries used in cellular phones and laptop computers, in particular, have been in the forefront of the above revolution. These batteries use high value added raw materials and have a high and stable energy output and are increasingly coming into common use. The development of the material for the negative terminal has led to an improvement in the quality and efficiency of the batteries, whereas a reduction in the cost of the battery by researching new materials for the positive anode has become a research theme by itself. These long life batteries, it is being increasingly realized, can have value added to them by recycling. Research is increasingly being done on recycling the aluminum case and the load casing for the negative diode. This paper aims to introduce the current situation of recycling of lithium ion batteries. 1. Introduction 2.
