  • National Education Information System (NEIS) is an ambitious reform project that can improve the competitiveness and performance of education field and to link administrational work of between schools and their senior administration offices via internet. NEIS is introduced to lighten the teachers' overburden, to standardize the work process and to bring better quality education to each classroom and make it possible for those involved in education to resolve any related educational problem on line. This paper aims to construct a hierarchy model consisting of key factors such as technological and administrative factors for the effective use of NEIS and to evaluate the relative importance among key factors using fuzzy AHP technique included fuzzy concepts. Eventually, the analysis results can be utilized to develop the future improvement strategy of NEIS and to satisfy the users.

  • In engineering design environment it is hard to link design data and system because the types of them are disparate. Therefore, the importance of metadata has increased. Some researches have been executed to develop metadata. But they cannot interact with other metadata and are difficult to extend. The purpose of this paper is to develop a common metadata structure which represents the general information of mechanical part assembly using XML, and to use it as base documents in order to integrate design data and systems. It is composed of part and assembly documents. Part document represents the information of a part independently to part type. Assembly document represents the location of part documents which compose an assembly. Common documents can be used as a broker between design data and systems and improve interpretability and reusability of document. We applied the developed common document structure to 2-stage spur gear drive.

  • Family professionals and family program staff need to consider the importance of program evaluation in Korea since an increasing number of Healthy Family Support Centers are providing diverse intervention and education programs. The purpose of this research paper is to (a) introduce a program evaluation model that includes the program life cycle; (b) help family professionals and family program staff understand the link between program implementation and evaluation processes; and (c) facilitate discussions in terms of program evaluation of Healthy Family Support Centers and evaluation roles of different levels of Healthy Family Support Centers including the headquarters, regional, and local centers. Understanding the program life cycle and relevant evaluation processes will help family professionals and family program staff be more strategic in answering critical questions about a program's effectiveness. The benefits of program evaluation and its implications are discussed.

  • This paper examines the impact of internationalization on the product, process and organizational innovations of Korean service firms. Despite the increasing importance of the service sector and the discrepancies in the natures of the manufacturing and service industries, the internationalization-innovation link in the context of service firms has rarely been examined empirically on a large sample. Based on the results of the logistic regressions using the 2006 Korean Innovation Survey data, we found that Korean service firms' international expansion is significantly and positively associated with their product and organizational innovations. In addition, the magnitude of the estimates in our models revealed that internationalization has a greater impact on product innovation than on process or organizational innovation.

  • Section 102(2) (c) of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 of the United States requires an environmental assessment of the major federal actions that could significantly a-ffect environmental quality. The review is known as the NEPA assessment process, and the resulting document is called an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIS). Article 5 of the En-vironmental Preservation Law of ROK also introduced this system to a cereain extent. The purpose of this paper is, therefore, to review the general impacts of environmental pollution caused by newly proposed actions on air quality, water resources, and land use as well as specific impacts from the disposal of radiation wastes, operation of petroleum and ru-bber industries, construction of highways and dams, location of power plants and industrial co-mplexes, etc., in order to fully understand the importance of this system. Differences between American and Korean system are also briefly studied and reached to a conclusion that this important system should be understood in such a way as to link and uti-lize all conceivable disciplines and human knowledge in order to protect our environment by all means for ourselves and our coming generations as well.

  • This study presents the problems of data imbalance, varying difficulties across target objects, and small objects in construction object segmentation for far-field monitoring and utilize compound loss functions to address it. Construction site scenes of assembling scaffolds were analyzed to test the effectiveness of compound loss functions for five construction object classes---workers, hardhats, harnesses, straps, hooks. The challenging problem was mitigated by employing a focal and Jaccard loss terms in the original loss function of LinkNet segmentation model. The findings indicates the importance of the loss function design for model performance on construction site scenes for far-field monitoring.

  • Even though the importance of the nature of science (NOS) and scientific inquiry in science learning have been emphasized by many science educators and science curriculums, the link between the NOS and scientific inquiry has not been discussed sufficiently. In this article, I discussed that various aspects of NOS are already embedded in defining and characterizing the authentic scientific inquiry and that we need to have special concern about how the NOS should be treated and interpreted when introducing it into scientific inquiry. And I summarized two approaches to teach the NOS and scientific inquiry; teaching the NOS through scientific inquiry and teaching scientific inquiry through the NOS. Finally, some next studies based on this article are introduced.

  • This paper investigates the application of multi-agent deep reinforcement learning in the fighting game Samurai Shodown using Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) and Advantage Actor-Critic (A2C) algorithms. Initially, agents are trained separately for 200,000 timesteps using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) with LSTM networks. PPO demonstrates superior performance early on with stable policy updates, while A2C shows better adaptation and higher rewards over extended training periods, culminating in A2C outperforming PPO after 1,000,000 timesteps. These findings highlight PPO's effectiveness for short-term training and A2C's advantages in long-term learning scenarios, emphasizing the importance of algorithm selection based on training duration and task complexity. The code can be found in this link https://github.com/Lexer04/Samurai-Shodown-with-Reinforcement-Learning-PPO.

  • Eighty six cases of invasive ductal breast carcinomas were utilized to investigate GSTP1 polymorphisms in certain immunohistochemistry (IHC) subtypes of breast cancer with respect to ER, PR and HER2 expression. The frequency of wild allele homozygote, heterozygote and variant allele homozygote genotypes were 46.5%, 52.3% and 1.16% respectively; Whereas 54.3% of the control subjects were GSTP1 wild type allele homozygous, 40.0% were heterozygous and 5.71% mutant allele homozygous. There was dramatic inverted relation between positive IHC ER staining and increasing grade of tumors in general (100%, 88.6%, 40.4%) and especially among tumors with heterozygote genotype of GSTP1 (70%, 35.4%, 22.7). There was increase in positive IHC HER2 staining consistent with higher grades in general (20%, 29.6%, 50.0%), especially among tumors with GSTP1 wild allele homozygote genotype (5.0%, 9.1%, 31.8%). A remarkable reverse relation was also observed between the fraction of IHC hormone receptor phenotype ER+/PR+/ HER2- and increased grade of tumors (60.0%, 45.5%, and 27.3%) especially among tumors with GSTP1 heterozygote genotype, and a similar link was noted regarding ER+/PR-/ HER2- and tumor grade. There was increase in frequency of ER-/PR-/ HER2- (0.0%, 6.8%, and 18.2%) and ER-/PR-/ HER2+ (0.0%, 4.54%, and 40.9%) consistent with the higher grades of tumors in general and especially GSTP1 heterozygote genotype tumors. As a conclusion, there is no correlation between GSTP1 polymorphism and increased risk of breast cancer i.e. the mutant allele is randomly distributed in cancer and control cases. However, there is a link between GSTP1 genotypes and hormone receptor expression status and certain phenotypes of breast cancer, which may have clinical importance.
