Nonlinear Observers for Perspective Time-Varying Linear Systems

  • Perspective dynamical systems arise in machine vision, in which only perspective observation is available, and the essential problem is to estimate the state and /or unknown parameters for a moving rigid body based on the observed information. This paper proposes and studies a Luenberger-type observer for perspective tim e-varying linear systems. In particular, assuming a given perspective time-varying linear system to be Lyapunov stable and to satisfy some sort of observability condition, it is shown that the estimation error converges exponentially to zero. Finally, a simple numerical exam pie is presented to illustrate the result obtained.

  • Because of the wheeled mobile robot is modeled by nonlinear system framework and controlled by nonlinear algorithms or fuzzy algorithms, the treatment of wheeled mobile robot is very complecate and conservative. In this paper, a new model of two wheeled mobile robot, which is a type of linear system and treated easily, is presented. And we will show that the control algorithms based on the linear system theory is well work to the wheeled mobile robot by simulation and experiment.

  • Since the control parameters of classical PID controller are fixed for all control period, it is not easy to produce a desired transition phenomena. We incorporate an iterative learning scheme to the linear controller so that it has more flexibility and adaptation capability especially in the transition period. In this paper a hybrid type learning controller is proposed in which fixed linear controller guides learning at the beginning stage. Once a perfect learning is achieved, then the control action is performed by only the learning controller. A computer simulation result demonstrates better performance during transition time than that with only linear PD controller.

  • Linear combination of weighted order statistic(LWOS) filters, which is an extension of stack filters, can represent any Boolean function(BF) or its extension. Which is called the extended BF(EBF). In this paper, we present a procedure for finding an LWOS filter of the simplest type from LWOS filters which are equivalent to a given BF or EBF. In addition, a property that is useful for implementing an LWOS filter is derived and an algorithm for LWOS filtering is presented.

  • This paper proposes a smoothing method for symmetric conic linear programming (SCLP). We first characterize the central path conditions for SCLP problems with the help of Chen-Harker-Kanzow-Smale smoothing function. A smoothing-type algorithm is constructed based on this characterization and the global convergence and locally quadratic convergence for the proposed algorithm are demonstrated.

  • This paper is presented about the development of magnetic levitation conveyor with a transverse flux linear synchronous motor (TFLSM). The TFLSM is proposed as the new type linear motor for the conveyor driving system. The flux density distribution. the thrust and etc. of TFLSM are analyzed by the finite element method. To analyze the dynamic characteristics of TFLSM, the parameter of equivalent circuit is calculated by the analytical method.

  • We show that the complexity of Simplex Method for Linear Programming problem is equivalent to the complexity of finding just an adjacent basic feasible solution if exists. Therefore a simplex type method which resolves degeneracy in polynomial time with respect to the size of the given linear programming problem can solve the general linear programming problem in polynomial steps.

  • We introduce the inline type mass production tool for the large size lighting OLEDs and flexible OLEDs. The manufacturing tool includes the linear belt source what is new concept for the organic deposition processes and the deposition operation combines directly to the encapsulation operation in a tool. The linear belt source evaporation in deposition processes is performed during the substrate transferring to innovatively improve the productivity in manufacturing.

  • In [1], the authors proved that the finite union of linear star-configurations in $\mathbb{P}^2$ has a generic Hilbert function. In this paper, we find the minimal graded free resolution of the union of two linear star-configurations in $\mathbb{P}^2$ of type $s{\times}t$ with $\(^t_2\){\leq}s$ and $3{\leq}t$.
