Speed Property Evaluation of an Inchworm Type Linear Stage (인치웜 구조를 갖는 선형 스테이지의 속도 특성연구)

  • Precision stages are essential device for micro machines, fiber optic assembly systems, and biology instruments. In this paper, a precision inchworm type actuator for a linear stage is proposed and evaluated. An analytic method to design an inchworm type motor is proposed. Developed actuator provides fast motion compared with a commercial inchworm actuator, and can be used as an actuator for a stage in substitution for a conventional rotary actuator.

The local influence of LIU type estimator in linear mixed model

  • In this paper, we study the local influence analysis of LIU type estimator in the linear mixed models. Using the method proposed by Shi (1997), the local influence of LIU type estimator in three disturbance models are investigated respectively. Furthermore, we give the generalized Cook's distance to assess the influence, and illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method by example.

  • This paper proposes the linear induction motor with salient poles, transverse flux and the secondary aluminum conductor for a new type urban MAGLEV. Compared with the more usual kind of linear induction motor with longitudinal flux, TFLIM have flux paths tying transversely to the direction of motion. This shortens the magnetic circuit and produces the thrust, the attraction force and the lateral stabilization force simultaneously. Owing to these electrodynamic force, TFLIM will be usable to a new type urban MGLEV.

A Study on the Synthesis of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Waterborne Polyurethane by Using Graft Type Siloxane Polyol (그래프트형 실록산 폴리올을 이용한 유-무기 하이브리드 수분산 폴리우레탄의 합성에 관한 연구)

  • Organic- inorganic hybrid waterborne polyurethane (PUD) is synthesized by using hybrid polyol consist of carbonate (PCD), ester (PCL), and siloxane (PDSBP) in order to enhance anti-scratch property of PUD film. The diameter of graft type PUD emulsion is bigger than that of linear type PUD due to the graft structure of hydrophobic siloxane chain. The glass transition temperature of linear type PUD increase and the decomposition temperature of linear type PUD decrease with the content of PCD polyol. While, the decomposition temperature of graft type PUD almost same with increasing PDSBP content. The anti-scratch property and pencil hardness of graft type PUD improves as adding PDSBP polyol in the hybrid polyol system. When 9 wt% of PDSBP polyol is mixed, PUD films shows excellent anti-scratch property (~3.3 N), and pencil hardness (> 9 H).

  • For an accurate on-line measurement of the ship's attitude the paper develops an intelligent sensing system which uses one servo-type accelerometer and two servo-type inclinometers appropriately located on the ship. By considering the dynamics of the servo-controlled rigid pendulums of the inclinometers, linear equations for the rolling and pitching of the ship are derived separately from each other. Moreover, one accelerometer is used for extracting the heaving signal. Through the introduction of linear dynamic models and the linear observation equations for the heaving, rolling and pitching, the on-line measurement of the three signals can be reduced to the state estimation of the linear dynamic systems. A bank of Kalman filters is adaptively used to achieve the on-line accurate state estimation and to overcome changes in parameters in the linear dynamic models.

  • This study is aimed at suggesting a linear-type diffuser which is excellent in terms of range and elegance like existing diffusers in which amount and direction of wind can be freely controled, out of linear-type diffusers with the highest possibility to be adopted for living space of apartments whose height between floors is not so high and utilizing the linear-type diffuser in design. For the purpose, I examined necessary flow and noise properties of linear-type diffusers. Besides, I evaluated its ventilation capacity for persons in there by applying this in the actual living space. I evaluated features and air blast and found that in time of horizontal and vertical effusion, its T/L ratio is 1-1.5, similar to existing cardioid-type linear diffusers, while in time of slope effusion, it is similar to horizontal effusion in terms of range and it has medium figure in terms of pressure drop and effusion speed, indicating it can provide safe and pleasant indoor environment for persons in there in terms of ventilation.

  • In the framework of linear perturbation theory and linear approximation of spacetime anisotropy, we investigated the formulae for the CMBR temperature anisotropy and fluctuation spectrum which have their origin in the primordial tensor perturbations of the perturbed Bianchi type I universe model. The resulting formulae were compared with those of the flat Friedmann model.

  • We consider additive mappings similar to derivations on Banach ${\ast}$-algebras and we will first study the conditions for such additive mappings on Banach ${\ast}$-algebras. Then we prove some theorems concerning approximate linear mappings of derivation-type on Banach ${\ast}$-algebras. As an application, approximate linear mappings of derivation-type on $C^{\ast}$-algebra are characterized.

Comparison of Force Control Characteristics Between Double-Rod and Single-Rod Type Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators (I): Tracking Performance (양로드형과 편로드형 EHA의 힘 제어 특성 비교(I): 추종 성능)

  • In this study, the force tracking performance of the single-rod and double-rod type EHAs (Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators) was compared by computer simulation and experiments. The force-controlled EHAs exhibit non-linear behavior that are significantly dependent on operation conditions. The investigation focused on localizing the parameters that provide significant rise to the non-linearity. For this, the single-rod and double-rod type EHAs were mathematically expressed to derive their linear models. In parallel, they were modeled by a commercial simulation program including non-linear properties based on experimental results. It was shown that the dependency of the bulk modulus of oil with entrapped air on working pressure dominated the non-linearity in force control performance in case of the double-rod type EHA. The force control of the single-rod type EHA was influenced by much more elements. Besides the asymmetrical piston geometry and the non-linear bulk modulus of oil, its pilot-operated check valves made it dependent not only on the magnitude of reference input but also on its direction.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a new velocity measurement method for an electro-mechanical fin actuator. The model of the electro-mechanical fin actuator includes uncertainties such as unknown disturbances and parameter variations in flight condition. So, an electro-mechanical fin actuator system needs robust control algorithm which requires not only position information but also velocity information. Usually, analog tachometers have been used for velocity feedback in an electro-mechanical fin actuator. However, using these types of sensors have problems such as the cost, space, and malfunction. These problems lead to propose a new velocity measurement method using linear type Hall-effect sensor. In order to verify the proposed method, several experiments are performed using Model Following Sliding Mode Controller(MFSMC). It is shown that the MFSMC with a new velocity measurement method using linear type Hall-effect sensor can satisfy the requirements without using of velocity sensor.
