This study was conducted to provide the policy information on implementing forestry mechanization through analyzing the project results and policy effectiveness. Study method adopted LISREL (Linear Structural Relationships) model which is the covariance structural equation model. Data was collected by questionnaires on the executors who are actually executing the forestry mechanization project. The analysis results on project outcome, policy satisfaction, and education and training showed the average. But the policy consistency, the consolidation of law and system and the spreading of forest machines showed bellow the average. Therefore, it is necessary to implement the consistent policy through the consolidation of law and system, and to increase the spreading ratio of forest machines in the forestry mechanization. In forestry mechanization project, the policy basis, the spreading of forest machines, and the education and training showed the positive affect on the policy outcome, respectively. The policy outcome had the positive affect on policy satisfaction. Accordingly, although the forestry mechanization policy system is important, it is necessary to spread the forest machines and to increase the training and education of operators for the successful forestry mechanization in the future.
A numerical modeling has become increasingly popular and more important to the study of water waves with a rapid advancement of computer technology. However, different types of problems are induced during simulating wave motion. One of the key problems is re-reflection to a computation domain at the incident boundary. The internal wave generating-absorbing boundary conditions have been commonly used in numerical wave models to prevent re-reflection. For the Navier-Stokes equations model, the internal wave maker using a mass source function of the continuity equation has been used to generate various types of waves. Nonetheless, almost every numerical experiment is performed in two dimensions and only a few tests have been expanded to three dimensions. More recently, a momentum source function of the Boussinesq equations is applied to generate essentially directional waves in the three dimensional Navier-Stokes equations model. In this study, the internal wave maker using a momentum source function is employed to generate targeted linear waves in the three-dimensional LES model.
This paper describes 2.5D induced polarization (IP) modeling and inversion algorithms using complex resistivity. The complex resistivity method has merits for acquiring more valuable information about hydraulic parameters and pore fluid than the conventional IP methods. The IP modeling and inversion algorithms are developed by allowing complex arithmetic in existing DC modeling and inversion algorithms. The IP modeling and inversion algorithms use a 2.5D DC finite-element algorithm and a damped least-squares method with smoothness constraints, respectively. The accuracy of the IP modeling algorithm is verified by comparing its responses of two synthetic models with two different approaches: linear filtering for a three-layer model and an integral equation method for a 3D model. Results from these methods are well matched to each other. The inversion algorithm is validated by a synthetic example which has two anomalous bodies, one is more conductive but non-polarizable than the background, and the other is polarizable but has the same resistivity as the background. From the inverted section, we can cleary identify each anomalous body with different locations. Furthermore, in order to verify its efficiency to the real filed example, we apply the inversion algorithm to another three-layer model which includes phase anomaly in the second layer.
Italian ryegrass (IRG) is one of the fastest growing grasses available to farmers. It offers rapid establishment and starts growing early in the following spring and has fast regrowth after defoliation. So, IRG can be utilized as the dominant/single species of grass used in a farming system, or to play a role as a large producing pasture and sacrificial paddock. The objective of this study was to develop the use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for the evaluation of feed value of IRG. For this study, UAV imagery was taken on the Nonsan regions two times during the IRG growing season. We analyzed the relationships between $NDVI_{UAV}$ and feed value parameters such as fresh matter yield, dry matter yield, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), total digestible nutrient (TDN) and crude protein at the season of harvest. Correlation analysis between $NDVI_{UAV}$ and feed value parameters of IRG revealed that $NDVI_{UAV}$ correlated well with crude protein (r = 0.745), and fresh matter yield (r = 0.655). According to the relationship, the variation of $NDVI_{UAV}$ was significant to interpret feed value parameters of IRG. Eight different regression models such as Linear, Logarithmic, Inverse, Quadratic, Cubic, Power, S, and Exponential model were used to estimate IRG feed value parameters. The S and exponential model provided more accurate results to predict fresh matter yield and crude protein than other models based on coefficient of determination, p- and F-value. The spatial distribution map of feed values in IRG plot was in strong agreement with the field measurements in terms of geographical variation and relative numerical values when $NDVI_{UAV}$ was applied to regression equation. These lead to the result that the characteristics of variations in feed value of IRG according to $NDVI_{UAV}$ were well reflected in the model.

Since the industrialization in the 1960s, Korea has been expanding its transportation infrastructure, such as building bridges. Owing to bridge construction, studies on stability review have been carried out, and stability-securing technology has been developed. On the other hand, these were applied mainly to the upper part of the bridge, so applications to the lower part are limited. In particular, scour at the bridge pier causes erosion in the riverbed and bridge collapse. Hence, prevention studies and countermeasures are needed. In this study, an empirical formula was developed to evaluate the scour depth of a bridge, which was calculated through multiple linear regression analysis using the hydraulic model study data conducted in previous studies. The formula, which had a value of 0.91, was applied to the model test data that was not used for development to verify the developed formula. When the pier scour depths were compared in 23 cases, the error rate was less than 20% in 16 cases (70%). The empirical formula developed in this study is applicable to pier scour-depth calculations. Further research will be needed to develop a more accurate empirical formula for pier scour-depth calculations, and it is expected to reduce bridge damage caused by scour.

The size characteristics of lead particle which is one of the important factors associated with absorption of lead were ignored in establishing lead standard. This study was conducted to investigate distribution of lead particles by operation of industry. Aerodynamic Mass Median Diameters (MMD) of airborne lead particles in the battery and litharge manufacturing industry were $14.1{\mu}m$ and $15.1{\mu}m$, respectively. There was no significant difference between those two values(p>0.05). However, the diameters in radiator manufacturing and secondary smelting industry were $1.3{\mu}m$, $4.9{\mu}m$, respectively. Those were significantly smaller than the particle sizes in other industries(p<0.05). Total lead concentrations in the secondary smelting industry were higher than those in the battery and litharge manufacturing industry. Total lead concentrations in other industries except radiator manufacturing industry exceeded the standard of $50{\mu}g/m^3$. Only radiator manufacturing industry indicated lead concentrations significantly lower than those in other industries(p<0.05). Concentrations of lead particles smaller than $1{\mu}m$ defined as respirable fraction by OSHA's CPA model assumption were $72.4{\mu}g/m^3$ in the secondary smelting industry, exceeding $50{\mu}g/m^3$. The relationship of concentrations between total lead and lead of particles smaller than $1{\mu}m$ was log Y = 0.46 logX + 0.06(n=119, $r^2=0.44$, p=0.0001). Relationship of respirable lead concentrations between OSHA and ACGIH was significantly detected in the litharge and battery manufacturing industry(p=0.0001), but was not significant in the radiator(p=0.2720) and secondary smelting manufacturing industry(p=0.2394). As MMDs of lead particles generated in industry were small, difference of respirable lead concentration between OSHA and ACGIH became smaller. There was a significant difference between concentrations respirable lead defined by two organizations such as OSHA and ACGIH in the battery and litharge manufacturing industry. Average concentration of respirable lead by ACGIH definition was 43.3 % of total lead in secondary smelting and 48.9 % in radiator manufacturing industry, and lower fractions were indicated in battery and litharge manufacturing industry. Relationships of total lead with IPM, TPM, and RPM were significant respectively(p=0.0001) and lead concentrations by particle size could be estimated using this relationship. Linear regression equation between total lead concentration(X) and ACGIH-RPM concentration(Y) was log Y = 0.76 log X - 0.40($r^2=0.89$, p=0.0001).
The objective of this study was to make growth and yield models for common ice plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L.) using expolinear functional equations in a closed-type plant production system. Three-band radiation type fluorescent lamps with a 12-hours photoperiod were used, and the light intensity was $200{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$. Nutrient film systems with three layers were used for plant growth. Environmental conditions, such as air temperature, relative humidity and $CO_2$ concentration were controlled by an ON/OFF operation. Leaf area, shoot fresh and dry weights, light use efficiency of common ice plant as function of days after transplanting, accumulative temperature and accumulative radiation were analyzed. Leaf area, shoot fresh and dry weights per area were described using an expolinear equation. A linear relationship between shoot dry and fresh weights was observed. Light use efficiency of common ice plant was $3.3g{\cdot}MJ^{-1}$ at 30 days after transplanting. It is concluded that the expolinear growth model can be a useful tool for quantifying the growth and yield of common ice plant in a closed plant production system.
The rolling motion of a floating body makes crews and passengers exhausted and/or applies forces to the structure to cause damage; it might even upset the body. Therefore, almost all ships are equipped with bilge keels for anti-rolling; in special cases, an anti-rolling tank(ART) or fin stabilizer or gyroscope could be installed. But an ART requires a large capacity to install it, and a fin stabilizer and gyroscope need great costs to install and also many expenses to operate. The authors suggest the use of an anti-rolling pendulum(ARP), and they showed that the ARP is effective to reduce rolling by experiments and via a Runge-Kutta analysis. This paper introduces the linearized 2 degrees of freedom with a viscous damping system for a ship equipped with ARP; it also shows the validation of the linearized analysis for the ship's roll motion. The paper proposes an optimum ARP on the basis of the justified model. The case of the 7.7kg model with ship 20g ARP of a mass ratio of 0.26%, is the most effective for reducing roll motion. The paper shows the ARPs with various mass ratios are effective for reducing the roll motion of a ship by free decaying roll experiments.
Influence of the axial dispersion on immobilized enzyme catalytic bed was investigated in order to examine the kinetic behavior of the biocatalysis. The enzyme employed in this study was the tyrosinase(EC 1.14.18.1) immobilized on carbon support : this system requires two substrates of phenol and oxygen. This enzyme has potential application for phenol degradation in waste water. A simulated reactor was a packed-bed reactor of 2.54cm in diameter and 10cm long, loaded with the immobilized carbon particle with an average diameter of $550{\mu}m$. A phenol feed in the strength of 55.5mM(5220ppm) was used to observe the behavior of the immobilized enzyme column at three different dissolved oxygen levels of 0.08445mM(2.7ppm), 0.1689mM(5.4ppm) and 0.3378mM(9.5ppm) with the flow rates in the range of 60(1mL/s) to 180mL/min(3mL/s). Examination of the Biot number and Damkolher numbers of the immobilized system enables us to eliminate the contribution of external mass transfer to set of differential equations derived from the dispersion model. Solution of the equation was finally obtained numerically with the application of the Danckwert boundary conditions and the assumed zero-and first order rates on the non-linear two substrate enzyme kinetics. Higher conversion of phenol was observed at the low flow rates and at the higher oxygen concentration. Comparison of axial dispersion and plug flow model showed that no detectable difference was observed in the column outlet conversion between the axial and the plug flow models which was in complete agreement with the previous studies.
This study was conducted to discern differences of craniofacial, dentoalveolar structure and model measurements between sex and between class n openbite group and non-openbite group. The sample consisted of 49 adult patients with class Il malocclusion. 24 linear measurements, 22 angular measurements and 12 ratios were selected in lateral cephalometry. Also, arch width, length, anterior crowding, average molar relation were measured or calculated in diagnostic model. The data were evaluated by t-test and multiple discriminant analysis. The results were as follows, 1. Most linear measurements, with the exception of MnBL and AUDH, were significantly larger in male(p<0.05). but, intermaxillary relations and spatial position of maxilla and mandible relative to cranial base were not different for both sex. 2. With the exception of upper and lower anterior crowding, lower arch width, upper arch length, AMR, male exhibited significantly larger measurements in model analysis (p<0.05). 3. Size differences of maxilla and mandible between openbite and non-openbite group were not significant(p>0.05). but openbite group showed significantly increased genial angle(p<0.05), FH-CoGo(p<0.01), FH-NA(p<0.01) and FH-NB, FH-NPog (p<0.05). 4. ALFH and PUDH were larger(p<0.05) in openbite group. this result served as compensation for the spatial position of mandible relative to cranial base. AUPUDH (p<0.001) and ALPLDH(p<0.05) were lower in openbite group. upper anterior crowding was the only measurement which showed difference between openbite and non-openbite group(p<0.05). 5. For the purpose of classifying adult class n openbite and non-openbite group, multiple discriminant analysis was done genial angle, ALPLDH, AUPUDH, FH-NA were included in multiple discriminant equation. 39 cases($92.86\%$) were correctly classified when applied to the sample used in this study.
