고속 동작을 위한 디지털 자동 이득 제어기 설계 (Design of Digital Automatic Gain Controller for the High-speed Processing)

  • 본 논문에서는 5GHz 대역을 사용하는 고속 무선 LAN의 표준안의 IEEE 802.11a-1999 를 위한 디지털 자동 이득 제어기를 제언한다. 송수신간의 동기화를 위한 신호인 training symbol을 이용하여 수신기에 입력되는 신호의 이득을 측정한다. 측정된 이득을 이상적인 이득과 비교하여 갱신할 이득을 구한다. 갱신 이득은 신호를 증폭하는 GCA(Gain Controlled Amplifer)의 입력 전압으로 변환되어 신호의 증폭도를 제어하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 하드웨어 부담을 줄이기 위해 부분 선형 근사방법을 이용하여 갱신 이득을 본 논문에서 제안한 디지털 자동 이득 제어기는 VHDL을 이용하여 설계하였으며, Xilinx cAD tool을 이용하여 timing verification을 수행하였다.

SCW형 지중 열교환기의 지중 열전도도 해석에서 초기제외시간 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determining Initial Ignoring Time for the Analysis of Ground Thermal Conductivity of SCW Type Ground Heat Exchanger)

  • This paper presents an analysis on the initial ignoring time of SCW type GHX using Mean Square Error method. Line source method is a useful method for estimating the ground thermal conductivity for the vertical type and SCW type GHX in Korea. The line source method for ground thermal conductivity of geothermal in-site test is the basis of linear approximation between the temperature of a borehole and logarithmic time in a GHX. To apply the line source method to the estimation of SCW type GHX, it is necessary to ignore the initial time of data at the stage of a linear approximation. This paper proposed a new initial ignoring time of SCW type GHX among various initial ignoring time at the time for reaching MSE of $0.02^{\circ}C^2$.

  • 글라스(glass) 전이온도 이하에서 고체 중합체들의 역학적 분광학의 여러 현상들을 이론적으로 기술하는 데 적용된 線形 반응 이론을 제안하였다. 시료에 의한 에너지 분산을 어떤 시간 相關函數들로 나타내었다. Liouville 연산자를 Kirkwood의 확산식 연산자로 대치하면, 여기에서 시간은 결과로부터 다리결합을 한 중합체들의 에너지 상실과 완화에 대한 Kirkwood의 결과가 나옴을 보였다. 완화시간을 계산하는 방법을 보이기 위하여 상관함수들을 계산하는 근사법을 고찰하였다. 여기에서 제안한 이론과 저온에서 매달린 (pendant) 시클로헥실기들을 가진 고체 중합체들의 역학적 에너지 완화 현상을 기술하는 데 사용된 한 모형 이론과의 관련성을 찾아 보기 위해, 이 근사법을 써서 二重우물 퍼텐셜 모형을 고찰하였다.

Analysis of Stem Wave due to Long Breakwaters at the Entrance Channel

  • Recently, a new port reserves deep water depth for safe navigation and mooring, following the trend of larger ship building. Larger port facilities include long and huge breakwaters, and mainly adopt vertical type considering low construction cost. A vertical breakwater creates stem waves combining inclined incident waves and reflected waves, and this causes maneuvering difficulty to the passing vessels, and erosion of shoreline with additional damages to berthing facilities. Thus, in this study, the researchers have investigated the response of stem waves at the vertical breakwater near the entrance channel and applied numerical models, which are commonly used for the analysis of wave response at the harbor design. The basic equation composing models here adopted both the linear parabolic approximation adding the nonlinear dispersion relationship and nonlinear parabolic approximation adding a linear dispersion relationship. To analyze the applicability of both models, the research compared the numerical results with the existing hydraulic model results. The gap of serial breakwaters and aligned angles caused more complicated stem wave generation and secondary stem wave was found through the breakwater gap. Those analyzed results should be applied to ship handling simulation studies at the approaching channels, along with the mooring test.

고체 추진기관의 추력측정불확도 추정 방법 연구 (Study of an Estimation Method of Thrust Measurement Uncertainty for the Solid Rocket Motors)

  • 본 연구는 고체추진기관의 추력측정불확도 추정 방법에 관한 것이다. 힘 측정불확도 추정 지침은 ISO와 국내외 기구에서 제공하고 있으나 모든 내용이 실험실에서 운용하는 하중시험기와 하중 센서의 교정을 중심으로 기술되고, 개념적으로 기술되어 있다. 추력시험대 불확도의 주요 원인인 교정식과 선형화 불확도의 추정에 대해서는 해당 지침을 직접 적용할 수는 없다. 본 논문에서는 측정불확도 기본 개념을 이용하여 교정식 불확도와 교정식의 선형화 불확도를 추정하는 식을 만들고, 이를 추력 시험대의 추력측정불확도에 추정하여 적용하였으며, 비교적 간단한 추력측정불확도 추정 방법을 제안하였다.

  • 평면 능동위상배열안테나 시스템에 있어, 간소화된 방사특성 측정 절차를 가지는 방사소자 결함진단 기법을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 평면 배열 구성에 대한 방사특성을 기반으로 선형 배열 구성으로 근사화 분석할 수 있는 방법 및 방사소자 결함진단과정에서 발생할 수 있는 유일해 문제를 해소하기 위한 방법을 연구하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 기법 및 유전 알고리즘을 기반으로 다양한 평면 능동위상배열안테나 구성에 따른 방사소자 결함진단에 대한 모의실험을 수행하였다. 모의실험 결과, 제시된 방사소자 결함진단 기법은 다양한 구성을 가지는 평면 능동위상안테나에 대해서도 적용가능함을 확인하였다.

Image Denoising for Metal MRI Exploiting Sparsity and Low Rank Priors

  • Purpose: The management of metal-induced field inhomogeneities is one of the major concerns of distortion-free magnetic resonance images near metallic implants. The recently proposed method called "Slice Encoding for Metal Artifact Correction (SEMAC)" is an effective spin echo pulse sequence of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) near metallic implants. However, as SEMAC uses the noisy resolved data elements, SEMAC images can have a major problem for improving the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) without compromising the correction of metal artifacts. To address that issue, this paper presents a novel reconstruction technique for providing an improvement of the SNR in SEMAC images without sacrificing the correction of metal artifacts. Materials and Methods: Low-rank approximation in each coil image is first performed to suppress the noise in the slice direction, because the signal is highly correlated between SEMAC-encoded slices. Secondly, SEMAC images are reconstructed by the best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE), also known as Gauss-Markov or weighted least squares. Noise levels and correlation in the receiver channels are considered for the sake of SNR optimization. To this end, since distorted excitation profiles are sparse, $l_1$ minimization performs well in recovering the sparse distorted excitation profiles and the sparse modeling of our approach offers excellent correction of metal-induced distortions. Results: Three images reconstructed using SEMAC, SEMAC with the conventional two-step noise reduction, and the proposed image denoising for metal MRI exploiting sparsity and low rank approximation algorithm were compared. The proposed algorithm outperformed two methods and produced 119% SNR better than SEMAC and 89% SNR better than SEMAC with the conventional two-step noise reduction. Conclusion: We successfully demonstrated that the proposed, novel algorithm for SEMAC, if compared with conventional de-noising methods, substantially improves SNR and reduces artifacts.

판매 손실이 발생하는 정기발주 재고시스템에서 평균보유재고를 계산하는 근사적 방법에 대한 연구 (On the Approximate Estimation of the Mean Physical Stock in Periodic Review Inventory Systems with Lost Sales)

  • One of the most usual indicators to measure the performance of any inventory policy is the mean physical stock. In general, when estimating the mean physical stock in periodic review inventory systems, approximate approaches are often utilized by practitioners and researchers. The mean physical stock is generally calculated by a simple approximation. Still these simple methods are frequently used to analyze various single stockpoint and multi-echelon inventory systems. However, such a simple approximation can be very inaccurate. This is particularly true for low service levels. Even though exact methods to calculate the mean physical stock have been derived, they are available for specific cases only and computationally not very efficient, and therefore less useful in practice. In literature, approximate approaches, such as the simple, the linear, and Simpson approximations, were derived for the periodic review inventory systems that allow backorders. This paper modifies the approximate approaches for the lost sales case and evaluates the modified approximate approaches. Through computational experiments, average (and maximum) percentage deviations of mean physical stock between the exact method and the modified approximations are compared in the periodic review inventory system with lost sales. The same comparison between the modified and the original approximations are also conducted, in order to examine the performance of modified approximations. The results show that all modified approximations perform well for high service levels, but also that the performance may deteriorate fast with decreasing service level. The modified Simpson approximation is clearly better. In addition, the comparison between the modified and the original approximations in the periodic review inventory system with lost sales shows that the modified approximation outperforms the original approximation.

조선분야의 축적된 데이터 활용을 위한 유전적프로그래밍에서의 선형(Linear) 모델 개발 (Implementing Linear Models in Genetic Programming to Utilize Accumulated Data in Shipbuilding)

  • Until now, Korean shipyards have accumulated a great amount of data. But they do not have appropriate tools to utilize the data in practical works. Engineering data contains experts' experience and know-how in its own. It is very useful to extract knowledge or information from the accumulated existing data by using data mining technique This paper treats an evolutionary computation based on genetic programming (GP), which can be one of the components to realize data mining. The paper deals with linear models of GP for the regression or approximation problem when given learning samples are not sufficient. The linear model, which is a function of unknown parameters, is built through extracting all possible base functions from the standard GP tree by utilizing the symbolic processing algorithm. In addition to a standard linear model consisting of mathematic functions, one variant form of a linear model, which can be built using low order Taylor series and can be converted into the standard form of a polynomial, is considered in this paper. The suggested model can be utilized as a designing tool to predict design parameters with small accumulated data.

A new and simple analytical approach to determining the natural frequencies of framed tube structures

  • This paper presents a new and simple solution for determining the natural frequencies of framed tube combined with shear-walls and tube-in-tube systems. The novelty of the presented approach is based on the bending moment function approximation instead of the mode shape function approximation. This novelty makes the presented solution very simpler and very shorter in the mathematical calculations process. The shear stiffness, flexural stiffness and mass per unit length of the structure are variable along the height. The effect of the structure weight on its natural frequencies is considered using a variable axial force. The effects of shear lag phenomena has been investigated on the natural frequencies of the structure. The whole structure is modeled by an equivalent non-prismatic shear-flexural cantilever beam under variable axial forces. The governing differential equation of motion is converted into a system of linear algebraic equations and the natural frequencies are calculated by determining a non-trivial solution for the system of equations. The accuracy of the proposed method is verified through several numerical examples and the results are compared with the literature.
