변분근사식과 연계된 산란체법에 의한 파랑변형 계산 (Computation of Wave Propagation by Scatter Method Associated with Variational Approximation)

  • 만일 임의의 지형을 다수의 계단으로 근사하면 이 지형 위를 지나는 선형 파랑의 변형을 계산하기 위해 변분근사법과 고유함수 전개법을 사용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 반사율과 투과율을 계산하기 위해 변분근사식과 연계된 산란체법을 제시하였다. 본 기법은 O'Hare and Davies의 변환행렬 축차법보다 간단하고 직접적인 방법임을 보였다. 또한 수 개의 수치실험을 실시하여 기존 결과와 거의 같은 결과를 얻었다.

Improved Element-Free Galerkin method (IEFG) for solving three-dimensional elasticity problems

  • The essential idea of the element-free Galerkin method (EFG) is that moving least-squares (MLS) approximation are used for the trial and test functions with the variational principle (weak form). By using the weighted orthogonal basis function to construct the MLS interpolants, we derive the formulae for an improved element-free Galerkin (IEFG) method for solving three-dimensional problems in linear elasticity. There are fewer coefficients in improved moving least-squares (IMLS) approximation than in MLS approximation. Also fewer nodes are selected in the entire domain with the IEFG method than is the case with the conventional EFG method. In this paper, we selected a few example problems to demonstrate the applicability of the method.

  • 본 연구는 부구조화에 기초한 다단계 혼성 구조 재해석방법을 제시한다. 부구조화의 틀에 보존근사화의 각 항을 차원축소법의 기저로 한 보존 전역-부분근사화에 의하여 변위 산정의 정확성과 효율성을 확보하고, 이를 바탕으로 이미 구성된 응력-변위 관계식을 병용하는 혼성방식을 통하여 전체 설계의 중간 단계에서 반복되는 재해석 과정의 신뢰성을 높인다. 전체적으로 선형근사화와 상반근사화를 교차적용하는 1단계 보존근사화로부터 전역 근사화와 결합하여 구하는 변위산정과 그에 종속되는 행렬연산으로 산출하는 응력계산의 3단계로 이루어지는 본 방법은 대형 구조계를 대상으로 하여, 해석의 기본 틀로 부구조화 방법을 택하였으며, 몇 개의 예제들을 통하여 타당성 및 유용성을 검증하였다.

An Improved method of Two Stage Linear Discriminant Analysis

  • The two-stage linear discrimination analysis (TSLDA) is a feature extraction technique to solve the small size sample problem in the field of image recognition. The TSLDA has retained all subspace information of the between-class scatter and within-class scatter. However, the feature information in the four subspaces may not be entirely beneficial for classification, and the regularization procedure for eliminating singular metrics in TSLDA has higher time complexity. In order to address these drawbacks, this paper proposes an improved two-stage linear discriminant analysis (Improved TSLDA). The Improved TSLDA proposes a selection and compression method to extract superior feature information from the four subspaces to constitute optimal projection space, where it defines a single Fisher criterion to measure the importance of single feature vector. Meanwhile, Improved TSLDA also applies an approximation matrix method to eliminate the singular matrices and reduce its time complexity. This paper presents comparative experiments on five face databases and one handwritten digit database to validate the effectiveness of the Improved TSLDA.

방사선 에너지 분석을 위한 MCA시스템 제작에 관한 연구 (Construction of Multichannel Analyser with Successive Approximation Type ADC)

  • SA(Successive Approximation)형 ADC(Analog to Digital Converter)를 사용하여 방사선다중채널파고 분석기를 설계 제작하였다. 선형게이트, 윈도우 및 펄스스트레처는 논리 IC와 선형 IC들을 위주로 결합하여 구성하였으며, 분석시간이 $120{\mu}sec$인 ADC 1211(12 bit)을 중심으로 한 ADC 모듈의 메모리로는 S-RAM 6264 (Address 13 bit, Data 8 bit) 2개를 병렬로 연결하여 사용하였다. 마이크로 컴퓨터 (Apple II)가 전체 시스템을 제어하고 또 계측된 결과의 데이타를 분석할 수 있도록 인터페이스와 소프트 웨어도 만들었다. 제작된 시스템의 동작시험은 표준펄스 발생기로 $0{\sim}10V$ 사이의 일정한 펄스를 만들어 시스템에 입력시켜 그 펄스들을 계측하게 하고, 계측이 끝난 후 컴퓨터가 그 결과를 받아들여 분석하게 함으로써 이루어졌다.

Optimization approach applied to nonlinear analysis of raft-pile foundations

  • Optimal design of raft-pile foundations is examined by combining finite element technique and the optimization approach. The piles and soil medium are modeled by three dimensional solid elements while the raft is modelled by shell elements. Drucker-Prager criterion is adopted for the soil medium while the raft and the piles are assumed to be linear elastic. For the optimization process, the approximate semi-analytical method is used for calculating constraint sensitivities and a constraint approximation method which is a combination of the extended Bi-point approximation and Lagrangian polynomial approximation is used for predicting the behaviour of the constraints. The objective function of the problem is the volume of materials of the foundation while the design variables are raft thickness, pile length and pile spacing. The generalized reduced gradient algorithm is chosen for solving the optimization process. It is demonstrated that the method proposed in this study is promising for obtaining optimal design of raft-pile foundations without carrying out a large number of analyses. The results are also compared with those obtained from the previous study in which linear analysis was carried out.

Free vibration of conical shell frusta of variable thickness with fluid interaction

  • Free vibration of layered conical shell frusta of thickness filled with fluid is investigated. The shell is made up of isotropic or specially orthotropic materials. Three types of thickness variations are considered, namely linear, exponential and sinusoidal along the radial direction of the conical shell structure. The equations of motion of the conical shell frusta are formulated using Love's first approximation theory along with the fluid interaction. Velocity potential and Bernoulli's equations have been applied for the expression of the pressure of the fluid. The fluid is assumed to be incompressible, inviscid and quiescent. The governing equations are modified by applying the separable form to the displacement functions and then it is obtained a system of coupled differential equations in terms of displacement functions. The displacement functions are approximated by cubic and quintics splines along with the boundary conditions to get generalized eigenvalue problem. The generalized eigenvalue problem is solved numerically for frequency parameters and then associated eigenvectors are calculated which are spline coefficients. The vibration of the shells with the effect of fluid is analyzed for finding the frequency parameters against the cone angle, length ratio, relative layer thickness, number of layers, stacking sequence, boundary conditions, linear, exponential and sinusoidal thickness variations and then results are presented in terms of tables and graphs.

  • This paper studies the problem of approximating commensurate input delay sustems by finite dimensional systems based on the Hankel singular values. I is shown that the Gankel singular values are solutions a trancendental equation and the Hankel singular vectors are obtained form the kernel of the matrix. The computaioin is carried out in state spae framework. Once singular values and vectors are calcualted, finite dimensional approximated systems are constructed using stadnard linear system computational tools. An example is included.
